San Nicolas winery was founded in 1945
in Almonacid de la Sierra (Zaragoza)
and took the name of its patron saint
San Nicolás de Tolentino.
The winemaking is specialised in red
wines, involving most part of the
production with Garnacha, Tempranillo
and Cariñena Grape, symbol of this land
in Aragón.
San Nicolás Winery has imbued the long
viticulture tradition and rich heritage to

D.O. CARIÑENA
The Cariñena Denominación de Origen is situated 56 km south
east of Zaragoza, Aragón. In the Ibérica mountain range between
the Campo de Cariñena valley and the Ebro river.
Generally the climate is arid in Cariñena, with an annual rainfall of
350mm. The indigenous wind “el Cierzo”, combined with the
dryness of the climate lead to poor and stony soils.
Vineyard and grape
The main grape varieties are red: Garnacha and
Cariñena (which originates from Cariñena)
together with Tempranillo.
The main white grape variety is Macabeo (20%).
Garnacha variety was born in Cariñena sharing its
origin with Cariñena Grape. Most of them are
planted in bush vines.

Viura
Bright straw-yellow colour with greenish tones. Great perfume with
intense notes of white flowers over a background of aromatic herbs
such as anis and fennel. Expressive fruit character, banana and fresh
citric tones. On the palate the wine is smooth, fruity and well
