Portugal produces a wide variety of wines, with different protected designation of origin regions. The most notable Portuguese wines include port from the Douro Valley, made from local grapes varieties and aged in wooden barrels then fortified with brandy. Madeira wine comes from the Portuguese island of Madeira and is heated and aged, producing distinctive sweet dessert styles like Sercial, Verdelho, Bual and Malmsey. Portugal also produces table wines from regions like Setubal and Beiras made from grapes like Jao Pires and Buçaco.
Spain has a long tradition of winemaking and is one of Europe's largest producers of wine. Freshness and fruit flavors characterize the best Spanish wines rather than oak influences. Rioja and Priorat are the most famous wine regions, known for their red wines made from Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes. Spanish wines also include sparkling cavas from Catalonia, fortified wines similar to Port from Tarragona and Jerez, and everyday table wines across many regions including La Mancha. Classification systems designate wines by region and quality level.
Port wine is a fortified wine produced exclusively from grapes in the Douro region of northern Portugal. While produced in the Douro Valley, it came to be known as "Port Wine" when exported from Porto starting in the 17th century. The process of adding brandy to stop fermentation and produce a sweet, high alcohol wine was already practiced before English merchants began trading, though they helped popularize it internationally. Key differences from other wines include an incomplete fermentation process stopped early by brandy that results in a sweet yet potent product.
Fortified wines were created in the 16th-17th centuries when brandy was added to wines to stabilize them for long sea voyages, as many wines would spoil. This allowed the wines to better withstand temperature fluctuations and led to new styles of fortified wines like Port, Sherry, Madeira, Marsala, Malaga and Montilla becoming popular at destinations. These wines contain 17-21% alcohol making them more stable once opened than table wines.

Wine labelling has evolved significantly over time. Early labelling identified vintage, vineyard and winemaker using pottery or direct etching on clay jars. As transport and storage improved, consistent labelling became more important. In the 1800s, lithography allowed mass printing of paper labels to stick to bottles. Today, regulations require labels to include details like alcohol content, producer and ingredients. The future may include more advanced labelling like UV inks and markers to prevent fraud. Branding and creative labels also help wines stand out and engage consumers.

Wine can be collected both for enjoyment of drinking and as an investment that appreciates over time. When collecting wine, quality, price, producer, and vintage year are most important factors. Winemaking and collecting has a long history dating back thousands of years to ancient Egypt and Rome. The advent of cork stoppers and glass bottles in the 17th-18th centuries allowed for proper aging and transport of wine. Today's market offers opportunities to collect both established wines and new discoveries, though conditions for cellaring and future demand are unpredictable.
The book "The future of the wine has changed" was presented at the #10thWBWE. The author himself, Robert Joseph, consultant for and editor of Wine Business International, also participated in a round table discussion on the bag-in-box market.
Concept-brands Leverage Packaging to Drive VQA Wines | PrintActionVictoria Gaitskell
The document discusses how Ontario VQA wine producers are leveraging innovative packaging and branding strategies to attract younger consumers and drive sales growth. It profiles several wineries that have launched new concept brands targeting millennials with funky, non-traditional labels and packaging. These brands are priced in the $10-15 range and emphasize fun and approachability over prestige. The new branding coincides with a trend of blending grape varieties to appeal to broader tastes. Producers see the concept brands as a way to introduce new consumers to VQA wines and build lifelong customers.

How to Manage Reception Report in Odoo 17Celine George
A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

3. Dear Friend,
Welcome to the Wines from Spain Tasting in Cork.
This regional fair in Cork is a fantastic way for the attendees to taste and familiarize themselves
with the large variety of wines from different Spanish regions. In total, more than 160 wines from
over 32 different “Designations of Origin” are available to taste at this unique trade event. It is also
a great chance to appreciate the unique and distinctive taste of Sherry wines, which the renowned
wine critic Jancis Robinson has called “the world’s most neglected wine treasure”.
Starting in 2003, the first trade fair was a small event in Dublin with only forty attendants. Since
then, the Wines from Spain Trade Fair has continuously grown, attracting over 200 professionals in
Dublin every year and now is one of the best established and largest wine events for professionals
in Ireland.
Two years ago we decided to hold an event in Cork where importers from the Munster area and
some other regions could showcase the top wines from their Spanish portfolios. Last year we
repeated the experience in Galway and nowadays we can be proud of having consolidated this
annual regional meeting.
Over the past years, much has changed and evolved in the wine sector in Ireland, where consumers
have become aware of the exciting diversity of regions that contribute to Spain’s wine production.
Spain has become the third country that exports its wines to Ireland. Ten years ago, Spain accounted
only for the 5.5% of the total wine market in Ireland, nowadays Spanish wines have a stake of
14.6%.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who are a part of the wine community in
Ireland for your dedicated support and passion for Spanish wines. It is your courage and
commitment to Spain and your belief in our wines that has made this possible. Thank you again to
the Irish importers, press, wine shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and everyone that promotes
Spanish wines in Ireland with their passion and work.
Slainte!

We have been importing and distributing
Spanish wines in Ireland for the last eight
years. We are passionate about the
regional diversity and indigenous grapes
that Spain has to offer and work tirelessly
to share this passion with others. As
much as possible we work directly with
small producers that use a less
interventionist style of winemaking to
allow the grapes and the land to tell its
own story.
