8. Simple Random Sampling
A simple random sample is a subset of a statistical population
in which each member of the subset has an equal probability of
being chosen. An example of a simple random sample would
be the names of 25 employees being chosen out of 250
employees.
9. Stratified Random Sampling
Stratified random sampling is a method of sampling that involves
the division of a population into smaller groups known as strata. In
stratified random sampling, the strata are formed based on
members' shared attributes or characteristics.
10. Cluster Sampling
With cluster sampling, the researcher divides the population into
separate groups, called clusters. Then, a simple random sample of
clusters is selected from the population.
12. Multistage Sampling
Multistage sampling can be a complex form of cluster sampling
because it is a type of sampling which involves dividing the
population into groups (or clusters). Then, one or more clusters
are chosen at random and everyone within the chosen cluster is
sampled.
16. Quota Sampling
Quota sampling is a non-probability sampling technique wherein
the assembled sample has the same proportions of individuals as
the entire population with respect to known characteristics or
focused phenomenon.
17. Judgmental Sampling
Judgmental sampling is a non-probability sampling
technique where the researcher selects units to be sampled
based on their knowledge and professional judgment.
18. Snowball Sampling
snowball sampling is a non-probability sampling technique
where existing study subjects recruit future subjects from among
their acquaintances.
