What Makes A One Stop Guide On The Landscape
A ONE STOP GUIDE ON HOW TO LANDSCAPE
It is of utmost certainty that people nowadays admire beautiful and incredibly structured gardens
and home fields and back yards. Not only is it applicable to home grounds and fields but it is also
quite possible to perform landscaping techniques on any outstretched field that you may have in
mind.
To the uninitiated landscaping refers to any activity and process that directly alters and modifies
natural, abstract and the living elements alike of an outstretched area of land. That said,
landscaping is an artistic activity that requires highly trained expertise in horticulture.
For living features, it requires modification of the surrounding flora and fauna of the area of land
and such activities lead to growth and nurture of plants with the intention of creating a breathtaking
environment within the intended area undergoing landscaping. This is what is commonly referred
to gardening in simple terms.
Secondly, when it comes to the natural features, this entails making changes to the land s terrain,
elevation and the general landforms. Finally, the abstract features are the elements that relate to the
weather and the lighting conditions of the area of land undergoing landscaping.
The landscaping process need not be a humongous and an overwhelming exercise for it is easy to
manipulate and implement. It basically involves two crucial steps i.e. landscape design and the
actual landscape construction. The landscape design involves a series of

Coco Chanel Biography
Today, one of the most important items that a woman must have in her closet is a little black
dress and Coco Chanel was the woman that made having one so important. Ms. Chanel had a
very rewarding career and, even today, her and her company are huge parts of the fashion world.
While researching her early life, lovers, career, and her death, there were many facts about Miss
Coco Chanelthat made her a truly intriguing person to research. She seemed to have led a very
interesting life, but she may not have been happy. That is probably why she kept going for the
richer and more powerful men and why she lied so much about her past. The inconsistencies were
evident throughout all the research, even up to her cause of death.
In Saumur, France on August 19, 1883, Gabrielle Bonheur Chanelwas born. At the time of her
birth, her parents were not married, but they did exchange vows when Ms. Chanel was a year old.
When she was twelve years old, her mother died. Her cause of death was from a respiratory
infection, either tuberculosis or bronchitis. Her father, then, sent her and her sisters to go live in
Aubazine, a convent. One resource states that the convent was too strict that Chanel ran away to
Moulins to stay at a boarding house for Catholic girls. (Coco Chanel Biography Childhood, Life
Achievements Timeline) But another source states that Ms. Chanel stayed at the convent until she
turned eighteen, and then she was released; from there she went to go live in Moulins.
Since she

Facebook Case IPO
Facebook, Inc: The Initial Public Offering Introduction Facebook, which was founded by Mark
Zuckerberg in February 2004, is an online social networking platform with the mission of
making the world more open and connected. Within a few years, Facebook attracted millions of
new users, from 1 million Monthly Active Users to 845 millions Monthly Active Users. Though
competing with global and regional corporations in the industry, Facebook kept growing rapidly.
With the high expectation of investors, Facebook finally decided to go public. The Red Herring
of Facebook stated that its goal was to connect all two billion global Internet users. Basing on our
analysis of Facebook s IPO, we would like to give several recommendations on the... Show more

However, by mid May it had fallen to $12.17 with a loss of 39 percent post IPO. Zynga, the
online gaming company, went public in December 2011 and issued 100 million shares at $10
/share, which was at the ceiling of the price talk of $8.50 to $10.00. Zynga s share price fell by 5
percent on the first day of trading and by mid May was still 14.4 percent below the IPO price.
Intrinsic value refers to the value of a company, stock, currency or product determined through
fundamental analysis without reference to its market value. It is ordinarily calculated by
summing the discounted future income generated by the asset to obtain the present value. In
this case, Facebook s intrinsic value is its estimate value/share from Discounted Cash Flow
analysis. As it is showed in Exhibit 3, Facebook s estimated value/share is $32.44 using
Discounted Cash Flow analysis. The price from the price talk is $38, which was raised from
around $28 to $35 to $34 to $38 per share because of the overwhelming demand from investors.
And the price talk is 17% higher than the intrinsic value. Based on our one way sensitivity
analysis of seven variables as it is showed in Exhibit 4, which are revenue growth rate, terminal
growth rate, pre tax operating margin, increase in Capex, increase in NWC, cost of capital and
marginal tax rate, we conclude that cost of capital and pre tax operating margin are the two most
sensitive variables from our calculation of the slope rate R. And our two way

The Human Resources Department Of An Organization Or...
1.Please briefly explain why you chose to interview this person:
I ended up interviewing Jennifer Noonan who works in the Human Resources Student
Employment Department in University Housing. I choose to interview her because I work in
housing and I was able to get in contact with her fairly easily. I also hope to work in the field of
Management and Human resources, so I wanted to interview someone in that field to get a sense of
what the career entails.
2.What are at least four things you learned from your informational interview about your contact s
career path/job responsibilities, employer, and/or industry?
Jennifer explained to me the basic role of the human resources department of an organization or
corporation. I learned that it s one of the most important aspects of a business, because they are
the ones who make sure all of the other departments are running as efficient as possible. Helping
with the hiring process of new employees is something I didn t know HR is a part of, and they
help hiring managers find the best possible candidates and make sure everything is in place for
their future employment. Jennifer also informed me that the role of HR is constantly changing,
and the old stereotypes of HR being the sticklers or the mean people is slowly changing. Human
resources job is to follow and enforce the rules of the government and corporation, and that s why
they were always portrayed negatively.

Sticky Eye Technique
Why you should use eye contact.
Eye contact builds a level of trust with the other person. It also projects confidence and
communicates your level of attraction.
Establish eye contact
When you spot a person that you are attracted to try short frequent glances. With your glance add a
smile to elicit submissiveness.
Add a smile to your gaze
When you add a smile to your gaze it shows friendliness and romantic intentions. If you get a smile
back it shows that their attracted to you.
Once your eyes lock and there is a held gaze you now have the green light to approach them.
Once you have the green light use your eyebrows to start the conversation
When you raise your eyebrows it shows the other person that you are interested in communicating

When gazing into the other persons eye its best to hold it for at least 4 or 5 seconds.
Interesting information: You can get someone to obey you by holding your gaze. This is done by
speaking steadily and clearly as if everything your saying is intentional. It is also important to hold
your head still when gazing into someone s eye. When you do this action with a frown it shows
concern and when lower your eyebrows it shows that your questioning something.
Extra tips:
Sticky Eye Technique
This is where you maintain your gaze on your partner, even during silence. If you have to away
from them do it slowly and unwillingly. This is a good way to seduce someone into thinking about
you. This method also creates a fight or flight reaction in a person releasing the chemical phenyl
ethylamine in the body. When this occurs it causes the other to generate emotions of love.
Make Your Pupils Dilate
In a study it was shown that dilated puplis are more attractive to men than small pupils. To enlarge
your pupils, look at a feature on the guy that your attracted to. Then think loving or sexy thoughts in
your head, this will cause your pupils to dilate.

Prevalence
In a variety of community based studies the researchers found roughly 3% of the children
studied met the criteria of the DSM IV for oppositional defiant disorder. However, the studies
vary based on criteria used, how many participants were studied, and how old the participants
were at the time of the study. This resulted in a variance of prevalence estimating between 1 to 16
% (Steiner, H., Remsing, L., 2007). There were no gender or racial/ethnic group differences found
in the prevalence of children diagnosed with ODD (Lavigne, J. V., LeBailly, S. A., Hopkins, J.,

symptomology of their son as they relate to common disorders in children. The questions in the
interview will also give me an idea of how the behavior is effecting Michael s life. The other
assessment tool I will use is the Emotion Regulation Checklist (ERC). This test is used to test the
emotion regulation in children. It is a 25 item test and each item is rated on a 4 point Likert
scale. Each point ranges from 1 = never to 4 = always (Onchwari, G., Keengwe, J., 2011). At the
end of the interview, I will gather information from Michael so he feels empowered and will
know that his needs are important and valued. Obtaining a working knowledge of how Michael
perceives himself in the different facets of his life will be valuable. I believe if Michael feels he
is a part of the process from the beginning it will help in trust building as we could begin the
counseling relationship with a need the child feels is

The Importance Of Transportation Resources
The purpose of this paper is to inform incoming freshman about the resources that have been put
in place on campus at the University of Kentucky, specifically the transportation resources.
Being a freshman in college right now, I personally didn t know some of the free assets that are
available for everyone, had i known before, i would have utilized them more. UK is a very large
campus; according to usnews.com, the campus is 814 acres in total and has an undergraduate
enrollment of 22,621 students. Being this large of a campus, it is inevitable for students to have to
travel far distances to get to class or to just get where they need to go in general. This is where
transportation facilities become very important, because it may not always... Show more content on

This off campus alcohol consumption is still a concern. Traveling off campus may result in
intoxicated driving and that is the last thing that the university wants it s students to do.
In efforts to combat the problem, UK has implemented multiple forms of transportation which are
available to students to help them feel safe and make better decisions, even on the weekends. The
Wildcab, a free, late night, transportation service provided to students was specifically
implemented to function as a student uber. The Wildcab works by students requesting a ride
through the TransLoc mobile app and the driver will then pick you up at your given location. This
service only functions Thursday Saturday night from 10p.m. to 3a.m. As opposed to the Wildcab
service, that runs specifically on weekends, the Lextran and SAFECATS are other transportation
options that run specifically on the weekdays. The Lextran is a shuttle service that departs every
seven to ten minutes from 6:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. and makes multiple stops, circling around the entire
campus. SAFECATS stands for Safe And Free Escort for Campus Area Travelling Students. This is
a safety escort service that is run by the Air Force ROTC cadets, that picks students up on a golf
cart when they feel uncomfortable walking home on campus. The SAFECATS service runs Sunday
through Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to 1:30a.m. which is very convenient for late night study

The Causes And Effects Of Job Stress On The Careers Of A...
As people are increasingly joining professional careers, more researchers are interested to
uncover how some of these careers are impacting individuals. Stress is something that is
experienced by almost everyone at one point. Nonetheless, when stress is occurring constantly
and extensively, it negatively impacts an individual in all aspects of their life. Hence, many
researchers want to figure out the causes and effects of job stress in particular on people.
Considering the nature of the work involved, it is no surprise that one career that is commonly
associated with stress is that of a lawyer. While there are a large variety of factors that may come
into play for causing job stress, there are a few that are more prominent than others. Job stress
among lawyers is often further impacted by and dependent on the genderof the lawyer, his or her
level of commitment, and the occurrence of any conflict within their family.
First and foremost, job stress among lawyers is often further impacted by and dependent on the
gender of the lawyer. A study done by Young and Wallace (2009), aimed to determine if and how
gender impacts a lawyer s salary and productivity levels while also taking into account their family
responsibilities (p. 305). In order to obtain this information, a survey was administered to lawyers
across Alberta. The study looked at the salary and productivity levels of 670 participants (Young
Wallace, 2009, p. 310). The researchers had initially hypothesized that

Compare And Contrast Karl Marx And Adam Smith
Sugandha Shukla
Foundations of Modern Social Thought
Professor Elizabeth Anderson
GAF: Cierra Strawder
Assignment: Response Paper 3
Adam Smith, an advocate of capitalism, believed that all individuals are selfish and by performing
to the best of their capabilities towards their own selfish interests they contribute towards the nation
s collective growth. Karl Marx, on the other hand criticized capitalism and believed that socialism
and communism are society s best chance of maximizing individual happiness. In this paper, I will
compare and contrast the economics theories of Adam Smith and Karl Marx on the lines of labor
theory of value, division of labor, alienation of workers from labor and human happiness and
surplus profit and its social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Marx, division of labor under leads to the alienation of humans from the product of
their labor, from the process of production, from their own identity and their true human nature
and from each other. This is because when distribution of labor happens, each man has a
particular, exclusive sphere of activity which is forced upon him and from which he cannot
escape (Marx 185).The first kind of alienations occurs because the worker puts his life into the
object and this means that it no longer belongs to him but to the object (Marx 87). Marx says
that the alienation of the worker from the product implies not only that his labor becomes an
object, an exterior existence but also that it exists outside of him (Marx 87) because the worker
is not producing this object for his own personal need, but for the wages he will get from its
production. The second form of alienation occurs as the labor performed by the worker is not
voluntary but compulsory, forced labor (Marx 88). Marx says that this can be proved by the fact
that when there is no physical or other compulsion, labor is avoided like the plague (Marx 88).
Marx explains the third kind of alienation by saying that labor is one of the main purposes of life
for human beings and the true source of

Persuasive Essay On Women Pay
If,for the same work, women make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes, why don t
business hire only women? Wages are the biggest expense for most. So, hiring only women would
reduce costs by nearly a quarter and that would go right to the bottom line. Don t business want to
be profitable. Or, are they just really bad at math? Well, actually,it s the feminists, celebrities and
politicians spreading this wage gap myth who have the math problem. Here s why. The 77 cents on
the dollarstatistic is calculated by dividing the median earnings of all women working full time
by the median earnings of all men working full time. In other words, if the average income of all
men is, say, 40,000 dollars a year, and the average of women is say 30,800 dollars, that would mean
that women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man earns . These calculations do not reveal a gender
wage injustice because it doesn t take it into account occupation, position, education or hours
worked per week. Even a study by the American Association of University Women, a feminist
organization, shows that the actual wage gap shrinks to only 6.6 cents when you factor in
differents choices men and women take. And the key word here is choice . The small wage gap
that does exist has nothing to do with paying women less, let alone with sexism ; it has to do with
differences in career choices that men and women make. In 2009, the US Department of Labor
released a paper that examined more than 50 percent reviewed

Abstract:
In the Dyes and Crimes laboratory experiment, the phosphorescence, fluorescence, and
chemiluminescence properties i.e. traits of several chemicals were examined using (UV)
Ultraviolet lamp. Observations on color, intensity, duration of glow, etc. were analyzed to
determine the traits of the several chemicals. Correspondingly, the author of the unsigned note was

The dyes in the laboratory experiment are made of numerous colors, mainly red and blue, the
spectra from each of the dyes corresponded to the wavelengths obtained from each of dye i.e. 620
nm for red and 450 nm for blue.
Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) works in relation to the polarity of chemicals. A plate is first
covered with aluminum foil or silica etc. and has solutions of varying polarities placed upon the
aluminum foil or silica. When placed in a in a puddle of solvent that moves up the plate, the
different inks i.e. the solution will move up the place based on their Rf values. Adherence increases
with increasing polarity, so the less polar compounds will be carried farther by the solvent.
Eventually the dyes will separate into their compontnets, which can be visibly seen. This is then
used to determine who the ink of the unsigned note belonged to along with the pen that it belonged

Explanation Of The Bayeux Tapestry
The Bayeux Tapestry The Bayeux Tapestry (1070 80, Fig. 1) is, in fact, not a tapestry at all. It is
a piece of linen cloth embroidered with wool thread, that measures about 200 feet in length and
three feet in width. The cloth is embroidered with images, ranging from battle scenes (Fig. 2) to
banquets (Fig. 3) to Halley s Comet (Fig. 4). The colors are muted, including dark blue, yellow,
rust red, grey, and green. The proportions are unnatural and there seems to be no care given to
liner perspective or scale; instead, the work seems to focus on developing a cohesive narrative.
The figures are flat and expressionless, yet they have a sense of movement and purpose as they
move from one scene to another. The figures have a believable space, which is especially vivid in
the battle scenes, as the figures appear to fall over one another in a animated struggle. The transition
from one scene to the other is fluid and the story line is easy enough to follow. The tapestry is
divided into three sections, the top, middle and bottom. Each section appears to have its own
independent, though complementary, narrative.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Role Of Luxury Flagship Stores
I. Introduction In 2007, Euromonitor International reported luxury goods market sales to exceed
US$130 billion, and in 2016, the report luxury goods market more than double to an exceeding sale
of US$388 billion (Fionda Moore, 2008). The significant growth rate in estimated market value
demonstrate an opportunity in the luxury goods market. While flagship stores are not exclusive to
the luxury sector, they manifest an important role in luxury brand recognition among consumers. It
is essential to further investigate the role of flagship stores as they are an integral element of
luxury brand identity (Moore, Doherty, Doyle, 2008). Previous research explore the nature and role

For distribution partners, a high initial investment into a flagship store opening is crucial to indicate
a belief of viability in the future of the market and to signal brand confidence, strength and viability
to wholesale customers, international partners and potential investors. (Kozinets, Sherry, De Berry

have a significant influence on how a luxury fashion brand is perceived and accepted. Fashion
media affect consumers brand awareness and impact luxury flagship stores press (Fionda Moore,
2008). The fashion media includes fashion editors, journalist, stylist, and famous public figures.
Therefore luxury flagship stores must maintain and build a cpositive relationship with fashion
media. As reported in Moore s et. al. study, a retailer closed their flagship store in London due to
untenable operating cost. In effect, the British fashion press abandoned all coverage of the brand,
which had adverse effects on the company s reputation and sales. Regarding customer relationship

The Train Car As A Symbol Of The Extermination
Regularly occurring within a historical narrative is the prominence of non textual documentation
through the expression of symbols, iconography, and emotional memory. Inherently
representational, symbols are used to add a dimension in to a narrative. In the case of the
Holocaust, symbols are used to materially express the nearly unfathomably reality of its events.
But, what do we do with often emotionally charged perceptions of history? Symbols can be used as
evidence, and as a way to connect the past to the present commemorating the time period in which
they encapsulate. But symbols are culturally created, as objects are assigned a meaning often during
but more importantly after events have passed. In the case of the Holocaust, the train... Show more

With the acquisition of new territory the number of Jews under Nazi control increased
dramatically by the summer s end of 1941. The Jewish Problem no longer became
geographically confined to Reich but rather became a pan European wide crisis. The policy of
territorial relocation of Jews became unfeasible. Additionally, despite the success of the
Einsatzgruppen shootings there were simply few too many men to eradicate the growing number

Hitler abandoned previous plans of emigration and mobile killings to that of a complete

In order to acquire trains the Nazis arranged within the Reich the use of the Reichsbahn, the German

One of the more challenging operations that Joint Force Commanders face, is that of responding to

There are however, several restrictions that prevent the military from being able to directly

for federal assistance must be made from the state to the President prior to military forces are

The Stereotypes Of Crime In Oliver Twist By Charles Dickens
From the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century, London was a metropolis
with a high crime rate. From 1745 to 1820, there were 115,000 people who made their living by
burglary, prostitution, swindle and other criminal acts. It is horrible when we know that the total
population of London at that time was just 960,000.
Presumably there was no other novelist in Victoria era that had such a strong concern about crime,
and incorporated so much description of crime in his works as Charles Dickens (1812 1870) did.

These may lead us inaccurate inferences. Hence, as Elgie argues semi presidentialism should be

Children all around the world struggle with honoring and loving their parents and additionally
other people. Most children yearn to love, honor, and grow a relationship with their mother and
father, but one or both of their parents may be absent from their lives. The words love and honor is
inscribed throughout the bible and is displayed in the fifth of Ten Commandments. Loveand honor
are two different words that have entirely two different meanings. When God asks for parents to

People who grow up fatherless have a hard time grasping the concept of life and ultimately God.
Usually children grow and have low self worth and feels as if they are undeserving. In Prager s
article he points out how God commands people to do many things, but love is not one of them.
However, by God people are demanded to show love and honor others. To a woman, a father
teaches her how to be respected and feel like a queen. However without the proper nurturing
from the father the girl partakes in the wrong men and to be promiscuous at an early age
(Prager). If a girl was taught how to value herself by her father, then she would not involve
herself in in ungodly things and she would have learned to honor herself. Having no guidance or
a father figure to set an example causes a girl or woman not to distinguish right from wrong and
she set her own standards. Thus, a female cannot engage herself in attributes that are positive and
honoring towards herself and others. However, not all fatherless woman partake in the wrong
doings that Prager mentions in his article. While it is hard for people who grow up missing a parent,
there are still ways for them to learn to love, honor, and comfort others. Thus, it is import for other
adults in children s lives to edify them on honoring and loving others and

The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is one of the classic examples of purely American literature, it is
about American people, who have American ideals, and live in a definitively American town.
Many aspects of Mark Twain s are paralleled in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and in many
ways it is Twain s expression of what his life was like as a boy growing up in Missouri. It is in
essence, A novel about the mischief that typically accompanies being a child. Along with these
childish aspects of the novel, Twain introduces many more serious thematic elements such as
poverty and murder. These traits all produce one of the most influential novels ever written.
The main character of The Adventures of Tom Sawyeris that of its namesake. Tom is a young boy
who lives with his aunt, Polly, and his cousin, Sid. They live in the small town of St. Petersburg
in Missouri, which rests on the bank of the Mississippi River. Tom is always in some sort of
trouble and Aunt Polly is always one step behind him in finding out what he has done. Tom s
best friend is a boy named Huckleberry Finn, who is often called Huck. Huck is the son of the
town drunk and thusly he cannot always afford what he needs. He does not go to school and
wears worn out clothes. The antagonist of the story is Injun Joe, refered to as such because he is
half white, half Native American. Injun Joe lives just outside of town and often has to beg for

Ethical Issue And The Ethical Dilemma
Leadership Ethics Introduction In this week s assignment, we have been asked to identify an
ethical issue presented in the Devise Products Unlimited (DPU) case study. First we will discuss
the issue and the ethical dilemma it creates. Next we will look at possible recommendations for
the DPU CEO to handle this issue. The Ethical Issue First, let s start by looking at what the
ethical issue that DPU is facing. The issue that I have chosen to focus on is issue two from the
case study: DPU outsources some of the manufacturing of parts to a Third World country. The
DPU CEO recently discovered that the organization to which he outsources has been forcing
laborers to work seven days a week and 10 hours a day. These laborers receive minimal wages,
yet without the work their families could starve and they would be homeless. The organization is
the only large employer in the area, and if the DPU CEO terminated his contract with the
organization, it would likely close, leaving hundreds of people without jobs. Before addressing the
factors that are involved in this issue lets discuss some of the background information surrounding
this issue. First what is outsourcing, outsourcing is the practice of hiring an outside firm or
individual to perform contracted work as an alternative to paying employees to do it (Kokemuller,
2007). Companies use outsourcing based on expertise and cost of labor advantages. The subject of
outsourcing in its self can often time be a much

Literary Analysis Of Gloria Anzaldua s Borderlands
There are many different styles of writing that authors use to achieve a certain affect. For example,
how a writer chooses words, languages and structures certain sentences and or paragraphs. An
author s different strategies influence the audience by giving them or taking away a certain

The Bloody Chamber Symbolism
In The Bloody Chamber, Angela Carter tells the tale of a seventeen year old girl who marries an
older, wealthy Marquis. Like many other clever authors, Carter gives the reader an opportunity to
determine the outcome of the story before the ending is reached through her symbolism and
allusions which foreshadow the ending. In doing so, she not only provides insight into what will
happen next but also further develops each of the characters through these complex symbols that
she incorporates throughout the story. Carter first alludes to the outcome of the story by
introducing the ruby choker that the Marquis gave as a wedding gift within the first few pages of
the narrative. She describes it as, a choker of rubies, two inches wide, like an extraordinarily

left earlier in the story, this reference to the choker is much more explicit, as it contrasts the dark

tissue including the heart values, visceral layers of the lung and brain, spleen, sclera and larynx

Although there are a variety of CAM options, only a few have been investigated and show
promise. Tai Chi and Omega 3 fatty acidsupplement are two types of CAM that show potential to
improve the patient s mental state, decrease pain, reduce inflammation and improve functional
mobility.
Complementary Alternative Therapy
The National Health Institute defines complementary alternative therapy as a health care
methodology used outside of or in addition to mainstream medicine (National Center for
Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), 2013). CAM is divided into five groups: (1)
oral based product, such as supplements, (2) body manipulation, such as massage, chiropractic,
reflexing and osteopathy, (3) mind and body therapies, consisting of yoga, tai chi, meditation,
biofeedback and hypnosis, (4) energy touches, which includes Reiki, Gigong, and prayer; and (5)
holistic approaches, such as homeopathy, naturopathy, traditional Chinese and Indian medicine.
According to Efthimiou, Kukar, and Mackenzie (2009) there has been exponential growth in those
who seek CAM. In 2010, data demonstrates that 40 60% of Americans use CAM to cope with
medical conditions. This growth trend is attributed to increased public awareness through social
media and patient s desires to try something new and promising. Barnes and Bloom (2008)
determined that individuals decided to use CAM therapies because they were frustrated by the lack

The Issue of Nursing Shortage in the United States
Nursing Shortages
Introduction
The shortage of nurses in the United States has been discussed often and has been fully reported
in the media over the past several decades. There have been reports of shortages so critical that
they actually have become ...a national security concern (Nelson, 2002). Moreover, the reasons for
the shortages and potential solutions for this crisis are extremely well covered in the scholarly
literature. In this paper, an article in the peer reviewed Health Marketing Quarterly points to how
the nursing shortage can be addressed using marketing strategies. In addition, other scholarly
articles will be reviewed in order to address the challenges and consequences that could result if this
crisis is not addressed immediately.
Marketing Nursing as a Profession
An article in the Health Marketing Quarterly written by Mark Somers, Linda Finch, and Dee
Birnbaum (university instructors in schools of management, nursing and business fields in the
U.S.) asserts that the nursing shortages of highly trained nurses and of nursing faculty is close to
a level that could be termed a crisis (Somers, et al, 2010). The expected gap between supply and
demand will expand to more than a million nurses by 2020, Somers explains, which is twice the
shortfall had had been projected just two years prior to this article s publication (292).
Why the dramatic shortfall in nurses? There are at least ten influencing factors associated with this
looming crisis, and

RESEARCH ISSUES IN WEB MINING
ABSTRACT
Web is a collection of inter related files on one or more web servers while web mining means
extracting valuable information from web databases. Web mining is one of the data mining
domains where data mining techniques are used for extracting information from the web servers.
The web data includes web pages, web links, objects on the web and web logs. Web mining is used
to understand the customer behaviour, evaluate a particular website based on the information which
is stored in web log files. Web mining is evaluated by using data miningtechniques, namely
classification, clustering, and association rules. It has some beneficial areas or applications such as

1. INTRODUCTION Web mining is the application of data mining technique which is an
unstructured or semi structured data and it automatically discovers and extracts potentially useful
and previously unknown information or knowledge from the web. The significant web mining
applications are website design, web search, search engines, information retrieval, network
management, E commerce, business and artificial intelligence, web market places and web
communities. Online business breaks the barrier of time and space as compared to the physical
office business. Big companies around the world are realizing that e commerce is not just buying
and selling over Internet, rather it improves the efficiency to compete with other giants in the
market. This application includes the temporal issues for the users. []
Web mining has three classifications namely, web content mining, web structure mining and web
usage mining. Each classification is having its own algorithms and tools. Web content mining is
nothing but the discovery of valuable information from web documents and these web documents
may contain text, image, hyperlinks, metadata and structured records. It is used to look at the
information by search engine or web spiders i.e. Google, Yahoo. It is the process of retrieving the
useful information from the web content or web documents. Web structure mining is also a process

Tooth Bleaching
Patients today are in high demand for more than a healthy mouth and a perfect smile. Color and
esthetics of the teeth are important topics for patients, as they influence self esteem and
professional relationships. Tooth discoloration may cause cosmetic and social problems for the
patient. Therefor dentist and patients spend a large amount of money trying to improve the
appearance of teeth. Tooth bleaching has become a very popular and common method for whitening
discolored teeth in modern esthetic dentistry. Tooth bleaching refers to any procedure that does not
use restorative materials and that changes the color and appearance of teeth that were discolored do
to intrinsic and extrinsic staining (Karadas and Hatipoglu 2015). There are three... Show more

However, Listerine Whitening and Plax Whitening could not match the results of supervised home
bleaching methods, such as 10% Carbamide peroxide Whitening gel. This factor could be caused
by the fact that Whitening mouth rinses contain a lower percentage of hydrogen peroxide. Listerine
Whitening contains 2% of hydrogen peroxide and Plax Whitening contains 1.5%. Additionally, how
acidic the mouth rise is can determine the whitening effect of the mouthwash. If the mouthwash is to
acidic it can cause the shade of the teeth to become darker over time. Another factor that researchers
has stated that can affect the whitening effect of whitening mouthwashes is the exposure time. The
use of Whitening mouth rinses is recent and few studies on this topic are available (Oliveira et al.,
2017). Additionally, manufactures conduct their own evaluations or fund researchers to test their
product. Thus, there is no need to conduct independent studies using commercially available
products to learn the action and possible side effects of mouth rinses and other over the counter
bleaching products (Lima et al., 2012). More clinical trials are needed so that researchers can
ensure the effectiveness of whitening mouth rinses, and determine the best protocol to use

but also for its strategic and social importance. This industry remains highly stable while entire
country was in recession. The index of production for all manufacturing (indexed to 2005) is

The Hopelessness Theory of Depression
The hopelessness theory of depression is a reformulated theory of helplessness and depression.
Hopelessness depression is a proposed subset of depression with strong implications about the
power of perception. There are many negative symptoms, which accompany hopelessness
depression. Hopelessness is the sufficient cause of hopelessness depression and is a phenomenon,
which deserves a lot of attention. This paper reviews the various elements of hopelessness
depression, reviews its causes and consequences, explores treatment courses and takes at the
implications of hopelessness.
CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES
Hopelessness depression is characterized by the feelings of hopelessness. The feeling of
hopelessness can be arrived to through many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Proximate causes are closer to the onset of the symptoms than distal causes. In addition to the time
gap between the cause and the manifested symptoms another factor to consider is to what extent do
the events contribute to the onset of the depressive symptoms. It is important to remember that the
impact of hopelessness depression symptoms on an individual is a direct product his/her perception
of the impact of the life event.
SYMPTOMS
Hopelessness depression is characterized by two distinguished symptoms: a) retarded motivation
and b) sad affect. These two symptoms come from the belief that motivation to try will be
worthless and sadness is derived from this sense of a bleak future. Such a hopeless attitude can
also result in lowered self esteem especially if they feel as though they will not succeed in various
activities in relation to their peers. The length of the disorder ranges depending on how lasting the
event is perceived to be and the lack of social support
TREATMENT
Since negative life events are theorized to bring the feeling of hopelessness, positive life events are
thus presumed to bring on the feelings of hopefulness. Essentially, to prevent the manifestation of
depressive symptomatology, the hopeless individual must perceive the life event as an occurrence
that is finite in nature and can be controlled with sensible amount of motivation. An extension of
this method would involve addressing the behavior of

Background and Character of T.J. Avery Ladies and gentlemen of the court, I have been charged
with investigating, and bringing to the attention of the court the entire background and character
of T.J. Avery from an impartial point of view. These are my findings. T.J. Avery comes from a
sharecropping family which live and work on Mr. Gangers land; they are poor and lack financial
independence. T.J. s father is a weak old man and in consequence lacks the physical strength to

Grand Mother Logan wanted to see Mr Wade W. Jamison, who is an attorney at Law. This is
while he was visiting the town of Strawberry with Grand Mother Logan and the Logan children.
Also while in strawberry Stacey Logan is foolishly persuaded by T.J. to go into the white mans

Ambition In Macbeth
Tragic Ambition
As we all know Shakespeare is a very emotional writer. For example; Romeo and Juliet is a love
story ending in death, Hamlet, in order to get the crown everybody died, and then we have
Macbeth, a man with great ambition, challenged everyone to get the crown, just to end up alone
and decapitated. Macbeth is a really dark story of how one man s ambition got him everything, but
was not able to really enjoy it. In Macbeth there are symbols that contribute the main theme of
ambition. These symbols are; the three witches, blood and hands, sleep, light, darkness, and women.
All these symbol contribute to set the overall theme of a tragic ambition. The three witches, or the

The Effects Of Self-Regulation On School Readiness
Effects of Self Regulation on Preschoolers School Readiness
Self regulation is fundamental to children s development. It is children s ability to control and
manage their emotions and bodily functions, as well as maintain focus and attention (Gillespie
Seibel, 2006). It is an ability that appears as early as birth, such as when infants suck their thumb
to self soothe or shiver to keep warm. Self regulation is a skill that one continues to work on and is
needed throughout life. It is especially important in the early education years. Early childhood
education sets the foundation for school readiness and future academic success. School readiness
can include academic skills and non academic skills, such as self regulation. Self regulation
domains, such as emotion/behavioral regulation and executive function play a crucial role in
preschoolers school readiness. Emotion/behavioral regulation is defined as the ability to manage
one s emotions and behaviors, such as a child not crying when their toy gets taken away, as well as
following instructions (Bohlmann Downer, 2016; McClelland et al., 2007). Executive function is
defined as the cognitive processes involved in controlling emotions and behavior (McClelland et al.,
2007). Although previous literature has examined the effects emotion/behavioral regulation and
executive function has on school readiness, few studies bring both domains together, especially
among preschoolers. Therefore, further research is needed to

The Contract Agreement Is Enforceable And Binds The Parties
Having concluded that the July 7, 2009 settlement agreement is enforceable and binds the parties,
we must then interpret the terms of that agreement. Settlement agreements are enforceable as
independent contracts, subject to the same general rules of construction that apply to other
contracts. Maslow v. Vanguri, 168 Md. App. 298, 316 (2006). We begin by observing that the
interpretation of a contract is a question of law subject to de novo review. Spacesaver Sys., Inc. v.
Adam, 440 Md. 1, 7 (2014). Moreover, in Maryland, we employ the objective theory of contracts,
under which: [A court is to] determine from the language of the agreement itself what a reasonable

The agreement in this case was an accord aimed to resolve a dispute that arose resulting from
Kaye s representation of Wilson Gaskins in her dispute against GEICO. Wilson Gaskins was
contemplating pursuing a professional negligence claim against Kaye. In consideration for a

agreement, Wilson Gaskins agreed to: [R]elease and forever discharge Kaye . . . of and from

of whatever nature now existing or which may hereafter arise out of the legal representation of
Wilson[ Gaskins] in regard to Lawsuit including any consequences thereof now existing or which
may develop, whether or not such consequences are known or anticipated. In Wilson Gaskins s
prior appeal we held that this agreement operates as a release that discharged any amount to which
Kaye may have been liable to Wilson Gaskins. The question in this case, however, is whether the
language in this agreement expresses an affirmative promise by Wilson Gaskins not to sue on
claims within its scope. Kaye contends that the release given by Wilson Gaskins contains

The Purpose Of Spending A Day Without Technology
Let s give our soul the rest that truly deserves. The purpose of spending a day without technology is
to detoxify ourselves from the continuous barrage of information. Just as Mark Bittman mentions in
his article, I felt connected to myself rather than my computer. I had time to think, and distance
from normal demands. (4) We are so accustomed to rely on technologythat we seem to forget what
would become of us without it. Internet, radio, television, cell phones, video games and other
technological amenities are part of our daily life, in a way that sometimes we can not see reality
outside a screen. We have shelved conversations face to face, the pleasure of enjoying the birds
sing or simply appreciate nature around us. Professor David Levy declares, Living a good life
requires a kind of balance, a bit of quiet. There are questions about the limits of the brain and the
body, and there are parallels here to the environmental movement. (2) Talking about the
environment, not only helps us to live without the use of technology for one day but it helps the
environment as well. A great way to save money and take care of the environment is to decide to
give up the technology just for one day. We need to take care of our soulor inner self or however we
want to call it, not for vanity but sanity. Since we get up in the morning and until we go to bed at
night we are bombarded with data and information such as emails, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter,
news, programs, text

What Makes A One Stop Guide On The Landscape A ONE STOP GUIDE ON HOW TO LANDSCAPE It is of utmost certainty that people nowadays admire beautiful and incredibly structured gardens and home fields and back yards. Not only is it applicable to home grounds and fields but it is also quite possible to perform landscaping techniques on any outstretched field that you may have in mind. To the uninitiated landscaping refers to any activity and process that directly alters and modifies natural, abstract and the living elements alike of an outstretched area of land. That said, landscaping is an artistic activity that requires highly trained expertise in horticulture. For living features, it requires modification of the surrounding flora and fauna of the area of land and such activities lead to growth and nurture of plants with the intention of creating a breathtaking environment within the intended area undergoing landscaping. This is what is commonly referred to gardening in simple terms. Secondly, when it comes to the natural features, this entails making changes to the land s terrain, elevation and the general landforms. Finally, the abstract features are the elements that relate to the weather and the lighting conditions of the area of land undergoing landscaping. The landscaping process need not be a humongous and an overwhelming exercise for it is easy to manipulate and implement. It basically involves two crucial steps i.e. landscape design and the actual landscape construction. The landscape design involves a series of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Coco Chanel Biography Today, one of the most important items that a woman must have in her closet is a little black dress and Coco Chanel was the woman that made having one so important. Ms. Chanel had a very rewarding career and, even today, her and her company are huge parts of the fashion world. While researching her early life, lovers, career, and her death, there were many facts about Miss Coco Chanelthat made her a truly intriguing person to research. She seemed to have led a very interesting life, but she may not have been happy. That is probably why she kept going for the richer and more powerful men and why she lied so much about her past. The inconsistencies were evident throughout all the research, even up to her cause of death. In Saumur, France on August 19, 1883, Gabrielle Bonheur Chanelwas born. At the time of her birth, her parents were not married, but they did exchange vows when Ms. Chanel was a year old. When she was twelve years old, her mother died. Her cause of death was from a respiratory infection, either tuberculosis or bronchitis. Her father, then, sent her and her sisters to go live in Aubazine, a convent. One resource states that the convent was too strict that Chanel ran away to Moulins to stay at a boarding house for Catholic girls. (Coco Chanel Biography Childhood, Life Achievements Timeline) But another source states that Ms. Chanel stayed at the convent until she turned eighteen, and then she was released; from there she went to go live in Moulins. Facebook Case IPO Facebook, Inc: The Initial Public Offering Introduction Facebook, which was founded by Mark Zuckerberg in February 2004, is an online social networking platform with the mission of making the world more open and connected. Within a few years, Facebook attracted millions of new users, from 1 million Monthly Active Users to 845 millions Monthly Active Users. Though competing with global and regional corporations in the industry, Facebook kept growing rapidly. With the high expectation of investors, Facebook finally decided to go public. However, by mid May it had fallen to $12.17 with a loss of 39 percent post IPO. Zynga, the online gaming company, went public in December 2011 and issued 100 million shares at $10 /share, which was at the ceiling of the price talk of $8.50 to $10.00. Zynga s share price fell by 5 percent on the first day of trading and by mid May was still 14.4 percent below the IPO price. Intrinsic value refers to the value of a company, stock, currency or product determined through fundamental analysis without reference to its market value. It is ordinarily calculated by summing the discounted future income generated by the asset to obtain the present value. In this case, Facebook s intrinsic value is its estimate value/share from Discounted Cash Flow analysis. As it is showed in Exhibit 3, Facebook s estimated value/share is $32.44 using Discounted Cash Flow analysis. The price from the price talk is $38, which was raised from around $28 to $35 to $34 to $38 per share because of the overwhelming demand from investors. And the price talk is 17% higher than the intrinsic value. Based on our one way sensitivity analysis of seven variables as it is showed in Exhibit 4, which are revenue growth rate, terminal growth rate, pre tax operating margin, increase in Capex, increase in NWC, cost of capital and marginal tax rate, we conclude that cost of capital and pre tax operating margin are the two most sensitive variables from our calculation of the slope rate R. • 6. The Human Resources Department Of An Organization Or... 1.Please briefly explain why you chose to interview this person: I ended up interviewing Jennifer Noonan who works in the Human Resources Student Employment Department in University Housing. I choose to interview her because I work in housing and I was able to get in contact with her fairly easily. I also hope to work in the field of Management and Human resources, so I wanted to interview someone in that field to get a sense of what the career entails. 2.What are at least four things you learned from your informational interview about your contact s career path/job responsibilities, employer, and/or industry? Jennifer explained to me the basic role of the human resources department of an organization or corporation. I learned that it s one of the most important aspects of a business, because they are the ones who make sure all of the other departments are running as efficient as possible. Helping with the hiring process of new employees is something I didn t know HR is a part of, and they help hiring managers find the best possible candidates and make sure everything is in place for their future employment. Jennifer also informed me that the role of HR is constantly changing, and the old stereotypes of HR being the sticklers or the mean people is slowly changing. Human resources job is to follow and enforce the rules of the government and corporation, and that s why they were always portrayed negatively. 3.Collaborative, Trustworthy, Inspiring, ... The Wildcab, a free, late night, transportation service provided to students was specifically implemented to function as a student uber. The Wildcab works by students requesting a ride through the TransLoc mobile app and the driver will then pick you up at your given location. This service only functions Thursday Saturday night from 10p.m. to 3a.m. As opposed to the Wildcab service, that runs specifically on weekends, the Lextran and SAFECATS are other transportation options that run specifically on the weekdays. • 10. The Causes And Effects Of Job Stress On The Careers Of A... As people are increasingly joining professional careers, more researchers are interested to uncover how some of these careers are impacting individuals. Stress is something that is experienced by almost everyone at one point. Nonetheless, when stress is occurring constantly and extensively, it negatively impacts an individual in all aspects of their life. Hence, many researchers want to figure out the causes and effects of job stress in particular on people. Considering the nature of the work involved, it is no surprise that one career that is commonly associated with stress is that of a lawyer. While there are a large variety of factors that may come into play for causing job stress, there are a few that are more prominent than others. Job stress among lawyers is often further impacted by and dependent on the genderof the lawyer, his or her level of commitment, and the occurrence of any conflict within their family. First and foremost, job stress among lawyers is often further impacted by and dependent on the gender of the lawyer. A study done by Young and Wallace (2009), aimed to determine if and how gender impacts a lawyer s salary and productivity levels while also taking into account their family responsibilities (p. 305). In order to obtain this information, a survey was administered to lawyers across Alberta. The study looked at the salary and productivity levels of 670 participants (Young Wallace, 2009, p. 310). Compare And Contrast Karl Marx And Adam Smith Sugandha Shukla Foundations of Modern Social Thought Professor Elizabeth Anderson GAF: Cierra Strawder Assignment: Response Paper 3 Adam Smith, an advocate of capitalism, believed that all individuals are selfish and by performing to the best of their capabilities towards their own selfish interests they contribute towards the nation s collective growth. Karl Marx, on the other hand criticized capitalism and believed that socialism and communism are society s best chance of maximizing individual happiness. In this paper, I will compare and contrast the economics theories of Adam Smith and Karl Marx on the lines of labor theory of value, division of labor, alienation of workers from labor and human happiness and surplus profit and its social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Marx, division of labor under leads to the alienation of humans from the product of their labor, from the process of production, from their own identity and their true human nature and from each other. This is because when distribution of labor happens, each man has a particular, exclusive sphere of activity which is forced upon him and from which he cannot escape (Marx 185).The first kind of alienations occurs because the worker puts his life into the object and this means that it no longer belongs to him but to the object (Marx 87). Marx says that the alienation of the worker from the product implies not only that his labor becomes an object, an exterior existence but also that it exists outside of him (Marx 87) because the worker is not producing this object for his own personal need, but for the wages he will get from its production. The second form of alienation occurs as the labor performed by the worker is not voluntary but compulsory, forced labor (Marx 88). Marx says that this can be proved by the fact that when there is no physical or other compulsion, labor is avoided like the plague (Marx 88). Marx explains the third kind of alienation by saying that labor is one of the main purposes of life for human beings and the true source of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Persuasive Essay On Women Pay If,for the same work, women make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes, why don t business hire only women? Wages are the biggest expense for most. So, hiring only women would reduce costs by nearly a quarter and that would go right to the bottom line. Don t business want to be profitable. Or, are they just really bad at math? Well, actually,it s the feminists, celebrities and politicians spreading this wage gap myth who have the math problem. Here s why. The 77 cents on the dollarstatistic is calculated by dividing the median earnings of all women working full time by the median earnings of all men working full time. In other words, if the average income of all men is, say, 40,000 dollars a year, and the average of women is say 30,800 dollars, that would mean that women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man earns . These calculations do not reveal a gender wage injustice because it doesn t take it into account occupation, position, education or hours worked per week. Even a study by the American Association of University Women, a feminist organization, shows that the actual wage gap shrinks to only 6.6 cents when you factor in differents choices men and women take. And the key word here is choice . It is a piece of linen cloth embroidered with wool thread, that measures about 200 feet in length and three feet in width. The cloth is embroidered with images, ranging from battle scenes (Fig. 2) to banquets (Fig. 3) to Halley s Comet (Fig. 4). The colors are muted, including dark blue, yellow, rust red, grey, and green. The proportions are unnatural and there seems to be no care given to liner perspective or scale; instead, the work seems to focus on developing a cohesive narrative. The figures are flat and expressionless, yet they have a sense of movement and purpose as they move from one scene to another. The figures have a believable space, which is especially vivid in the battle scenes, as the figures appear to fall over one another in a animated struggle. The transition from one scene to the other is fluid and the story line is easy enough to follow. The tapestry is divided into three sections, the top, middle and bottom. Thus, a female cannot engage herself in attributes that are positive and honoring towards herself and others. Along with these childish aspects of the novel, Twain introduces many more serious thematic elements such as poverty and murder. These traits all produce one of the most influential novels ever written. The main character of The Adventures of Tom Sawyeris that of its namesake. Tom is a young boy who lives with his aunt, Polly, and his cousin, Sid. They live in the small town of St. Petersburg in Missouri, which rests on the bank of the Mississippi River. Tom is always in some sort of trouble and Aunt Polly is always one step behind him in finding out what he has done. Tom s best friend is a boy named Huckleberry Finn, who is often called Huck. Huck is the son of the town drunk and thusly he cannot always afford what he needs. He does not go to school and wears worn out clothes. The antagonist of the story is Injun Joe, refered to as such because he is half white, half Native American. Injun Joe lives just outside of town and often has to beg for food to eat. Ethical Issue And The Ethical Dilemma Leadership Ethics Introduction In this week s assignment, we have been asked to identify an ethical issue presented in the Devise Products Unlimited (DPU) case study. First we will discuss the issue and the ethical dilemma it creates. Next we will look at possible recommendations for the DPU CEO to handle this issue. The Ethical Issue First, let s start by looking at what the ethical issue that DPU is facing. The issue that I have chosen to focus on is issue two from the case study: DPU outsources some of the manufacturing of parts to a Third World country. The DPU CEO recently discovered that the organization to which he outsources has been forcing laborers to work seven days a week and 10 hours a day. These laborers receive minimal wages, yet without the work their families could starve and they would be homeless. The organization is the only large employer in the area, and if the DPU CEO terminated his contract with the organization, it would likely close, leaving hundreds of people without jobs. Before addressing the factors that are involved in this issue lets discuss some of the background information surrounding this issue. First what is outsourcing, outsourcing is the practice of hiring an outside firm or individual to perform contracted work as an alternative to paying employees to do it (Kokemuller, 2007). Companies use outsourcing based on expertise and cost of labor advantages. The subject of outsourcing in its self can often time be a much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Like many other clever authors, Carter gives the reader an opportunity to determine the outcome of the story before the ending is reached through her symbolism and allusions which foreshadow the ending. In doing so, she not only provides insight into what will happen next but also further develops each of the characters through these complex symbols that she incorporates throughout the story. Carter first alludes to the outcome of the story by introducing the ruby choker that the Marquis gave as a wedding gift within the first few pages of the narrative. She describes it as, a choker of rubies, two inches wide, like an extraordinarily precious slit throat (6). The reader can infer a considerable amount from this one simple... This illustrates the theme of innocence versus violence, which is seen all throughout the story. The explicit revelation of the necklace prefiguring her end shows that the symbolism that Carter incorporated in the story begins subtler and becomes more straightforward towards the end. SYMPTOMS Hopelessness depression is characterized by two distinguished symptoms: a) retarded motivation and b) sad affect. These two symptoms come from the belief that motivation to try will be worthless and sadness is derived from this sense of a bleak future. Such a hopeless attitude can also result in lowered self esteem especially if they feel as though they will not succeed in various activities in relation to their peers. The length of the disorder ranges depending on how lasting the event is perceived to be and the lack of social support TREATMENT Since negative life events are theorized to bring the feeling of hopelessness, positive life events are thus presumed to bring on the feelings of hopefulness. It is children s ability to control and manage their emotions and bodily functions, as well as maintain focus and attention (Gillespie Seibel, 2006). It is an ability that appears as early as birth, such as when infants suck their thumb to self soothe or shiver to keep warm. Self regulation is a skill that one continues to work on and is needed throughout life. It is especially important in the early education years. Early childhood education sets the foundation for school readiness and future academic success. School readiness can include academic skills and non academic skills, such as self regulation. Self regulation domains, such as emotion/behavioral regulation and executive function play a crucial role in preschoolers school readiness. Emotion/behavioral regulation is defined as the ability to manage one s emotions and behaviors, such as a child not crying when their toy gets taken away, as well as following instructions (Bohlmann Downer, 2016; McClelland et al., 2007). Executive function is defined as the cognitive processes involved in controlling emotions and behavior (McClelland et al., 2007). The purpose of spending a day without technology is to detoxify ourselves from the continuous barrage of information. Just as Mark Bittman mentions in his article, I felt connected to myself rather than my computer. I had time to think, and distance from normal demands. (4) We are so accustomed to rely on technologythat we seem to forget what would become of us without it. Internet, radio, television, cell phones, video games and other technological amenities are part of our daily life, in a way that sometimes we can not see reality outside a screen.
