network latency, browser speed, and number of cores.
6. Customization: Sharing
6
● Control the Default Records Your Users See with Scoping Rules (Beta)
Based on criteria, you can set rules so in searches the users see only records relevant to them, so they can focus on
pertinent records and avoid accessing records with sensitive or inessential information.
Scoping rules don’t restrict the record access that your users already have per the org’s sharing settings.
○ Available for custom objects and Account, Case, Contact, Event, Lead, Opportunity, Task
○ Scoping rules can created/modified using the Tooling or Metadata API.
NOTE: Available for LEX in Performance and Unlimited editions. For information on enabling this feature, contact Salesforce.
● Control Access to Sensitive Data with Restriction Rules (Beta in Summer’21, now GA)

permission sets during an activated user session. Previously, could create
individual session-based permission sets, but now can set sessions at the
permission set group level too.
Manage Assignment Expiration in Permission Sets/ Permission Set Groups
(Beta)
Can now view and update current assignment expirations for the permission
sets and permission set groups. Previously, to update assignment expirations,
would need to recreate them with the correct expiration date.
To create a session-based permission set group, select “Session Activation
Required” on the Permission Set Group create page. Then, activate the
session for the permission set group using a flow or the
SessionPermSetActivation SOAP API object.
From either the Permission Set Group or Permission Set page, click Manage
Assignment Expiration.
8. Sales: Pipeline Inspection
8
Pipeline Inspection: Sales Cloud (LEX) in Performance and Unlimited editions.

Can see when opportunity next steps aren’t updated. Indicator shows when the
last update to the Next Step field was more than 7 days ago, and the details on
that update (date, user, number of days since then).
See How Many Times Close Dates Are Pushed Out:
Push Count field shows the # of times the Close Date is pushed out in a month.
Added to Pipeline Inspection by default, also available for Opportunity list views.
9. Sales: Pipeline Inspection
9

To monitor priority opportunities in Pipeline Inspection, users can mark them
as important, so they can see a list view of all important opportunities or just
the important ones for custom filters.
(1) Icon to mark opportunities as important.
(2) A list view of all important opportunities is in the pipeline views dropdown
(3) Important opportunities filter that can also be applied to any saved view to see just the
important opportunities for it
See Which Deals Are Unlikely to Close This Month with Einstein Deal Insights:
Einstein Deal Insights predicts when opportunities scheduled to close this
month are unlikely to be won during that period, so users and teams can
maintain more accurate pipelines.

Sales: Productivity Features
Indentation creates visual variety and organizes text
in the email templates, making easier for recipients to
notice the different texts.
Click the Increase Indent and Decrease Indent
buttons to adjust your text.
Add Rows and Columns to Email Template Builder or Email Content
Builder template with the Layout component. This component
replaces the Row component.
Email templates:
Add Variety with Indentations in Rich Text Components
Get Some Breathing Room with Column Padding
In Email Template Builder, give columns some definition with padding
between each column. Previously, you could pad the content within an
individual column, and now you can evenly pad space between all
columns. Change the Column Spacing (px) value to adjust the
spacing between every column at the same time.
Say More in a Lightning Email Template’s Subject
The Subject field in Lightning email templates can now be up to 1,000 characters
long, allowing a longer, more descriptive subject line (the limit was 230 characters).
Sort Upcoming & Overdue Activities Intuitively
Show upcoming tasks and appointments in the order that
makes sense to you. Now can show the list with the next item
on the calendar at the top of the list followed by the other
activities. Previously, the item with the closest due date was at
the bottom.
Click the gear icon to access the new sort order setting and
other filter options in the Settings panel.
Update Activity Reports for More Accurate Data
Use the new field CompletedDateTime to show the time and the date that an
activity was completed.
Activities:
11. 11
Sales: Integrations with Google and Microsoft
Improved Event logging in both the Gmail Integration and the Outlook integration:
If Salesforce is set up for shared activities, matching contact records shown when logging an event from Gmail/Outlook are automatically
selected. If there are no matching contacts, the first matching lead is automatically selected. Reps can log an event to up to 50 contacts or one
lead. Also, all the attendees on the manually logged event are now captured in the Salesforce event record.
Setup-> Activity Settings-> Verify “Allow Users to Relate Multiple Contacts to Tasks and Events” is enabled.
Log Emails Manually from both Gmail Integration and Outlook Integration with Inbox when Einstein Activity Capture Is On:
Salesforce Inbox users included in an Einstein Activity Capture configuration that has email capture disabled can now manually log
emails from the integration (Gmail/Outlook). This change allows users to benefit from the event and contact portions of Einstein Activity
Capture and still manually log the emails they need.
Gmail Integration in Older Versions of Google Chrome: Starting in Winter ’22, the Gmail integration and Gmail integration with Inbox require Google Chrome version 88 or later.
Support for the Older Versions Is Ending:
12. 12
Security, Identity and Privacy:
Verify Logins in Users Reports:
In users reports, 4 new fields allow to view user login
verification data. Use these Verification History fields
along with Login History fields to identify which user
logins have MFA challenges enforced.
Identity Verification with Built-In Authenticators (Beta)
With new support for biometric methods, users can register biometric built-
in authenticators, such as Touch ID, Face ID, and Windows Hello. When they
are challenged to verify their identity, they’re prompted to use their built-in
authenticator.
Built-in authenticators:
● Convenient: Users pass identity verification without needing a second
device.
● Secure: Are based on the FIDO2 Web Authentication (WebAuthn) Platform
standard, extra resistant to security threats.
● Private: The user’s biometric data never leaves their device.
Before enabling built-in authenticators, note that:
● The user’s device, browser, and operating system must support the FIDO2
WebAuthn Platform standard.
● Users must have access to the device, if accessing from multiple devices
must register a built-in authenticator on each one.
● It’s also recommended that users register another verification method,
such as Salesforce Authenticator.
MFA Challenges for Authentication Provider SSO Logins no longer enforced
By default, users who log in to Salesforce through an authentication provider that supports
single sign-on (SSO) are no longer subject to multi-factor authentication (MFA) challenges in
Salesforce.
To restore MFA challenges for those users, you can update the session security levels for their
assigned profiles:
Salesforce Identity for Employees:
● login method
● user activity
● login status
● time of login
● Verify that Multi-Factor Authentication is in the
High Assurance column.
● Set Session Security Level Required at Login to
High Assurance
13. 13
Security, Identity and Privacy:
Device Activation Emails for Experience Cloud Sites
Device Activation email template allows to customize the emails
the users receive when they log in from an unfamiliar browser,
app, location.
Email and SMS One-Time Password Codes Are Longer
To improve security, it was increased the length of one-time
passwords (OTPs), also known as verification codes, from five digits
to six. This change applies to OTPs sent through email and SMS.
Customizations that rely on five-digit OTPs, such as Apex
implementations for multi-factor authentication or passwordless
login, should be updated.
Salesforce Identity for Customers:
14. Service:
14
● Incident Management: Diagnose, Track, and Prevent Service Interruptions
Incident Management helps the escalation teams track large-scale disruptions, they can log a problem to find the root cause, streamline operations delegating
tasks to the right agent, and minimize downtime. Change management features gives escalation specialists a way to get changes implemented to prevent
incidents from reoccurring. After the escalation team decides on the best fix, agents can create related change requests to get the fix approved and the incident
resolved.
For existing orgs: find Incident Management in the Setup search bar and turn the feature toggle on. Can view information from the Object Manager once they’re
created (new Service Cloud orgs can access Incident Management right out of the box).
● Channels
Voice:
● Improve Reporting with Consistent Call Statuses: removed inconsistent call statuses (call dispositions) across all call types: inbound, outbound, transferred, and
queued callbacks. Now all call use the same statuses: New, In Progress, and Completed. For all, the status switches to Completed after the call ends (rework logic
based on call statuses)
● Define Omni-Channel Statuses for Missed and Declined Calls in the presence configuration settings, keeping the agents visible in Omni-Channel Supervisor.
Previously, when missed or declined a call, the agent went offline in Omni-Channel.
● Find Voice Calls Quickly with Global Search searching based on call fields (phone number, caller name, voice call ID.)
● Speed Up Agent Troubleshooting with Downloadable Call Logs: detailed logs the agent can download from the Omni-Channel utility and send it to someone
else.
● Transfer Callers to Available Agents with Search: agents can search for an agent, queue, or phone number, or scroll through a list of agents, and see who’s
available before transferring the call.
15. Service:
15
● Routing:
Omni-Channel Flow in previous release was Beta, now is GA and with enhancements:
Unifies the routing setup for all supported channels. Supports:
To create an Omni-Channel flow, from Setup, in the Quick Find box,
enter Flows in the Quick Start menu:
Under Process Automation-> Flows-> New Flow-> In the left pane,
select Omni-Channel Flow.
● Route Messaging Sessions (Beta): Define routing rules to dynamically route
messaging sessions. Besides routing to queues or skills, allows to develop a
more personal relationship with the customers by routing sessions directly to
agents, such as the account owners.
● Cases, Leads, and custom objects.
To save time and effort can select an Omni-Channel flow
template, that include prebuilt variables and sample routing
logic for key use cases, so can quickly and easily customize
flows created from templates.
● Chats
● Route calls (Beta): Define routing rules to dynamically route calls to the correct
agent. Give supervisors real-time queue metrics about voice calls in Omni
Supervisor.
16. Pardot:
16
Pardot Classic App Is Being Retired
The Pardot Classic App (for all Pardot accounts):
● No longer be available for new accounts on October 11, 2021,
● Scheduled for retirement in all Salesforce orgs by October 17, 2022.
Build Landing Pages Faster with Drag-And-Drop Editor:
Pardot Lightning App: Pardot Lightning users can now build landing
pages faster inside the Lightning Experience with a user-friendly
landing page editor.
Available when enabled the new Pardot content experience and
Salesforce CMS integration. If using the Pardot Classic builders, just
head over to Marketing Setup and follow the steps under Content
Setup.
Push Emails from Lightning Experience into Engagement Programs:
When create emails in the drag-and-drop editor in Lightning Experience, can now save
them for use in Engagement Studio. Create the email content and activate it for use in
automations.
Enable the email experience on the Content Setup page in Marketing Setup. The next
time a user with “Activate Email for Automation” system permission creates or opens
an email content record, Activate for Automation appears in the action menu.
When clicks the button, they can enter the campaign, sender, and reply-to settings
to use for each Engagement Studio email send.
Next time they create an engagement program, the
email name appears in the available dropdowns.
An email must be activated each time changes are
made to the record, content, or sending options
17. Pardot:
17
Slack Notifications to Pardot Users with Completion Actions (Beta)
Speed up the pipeline with a completion action that notifies the team in
Slack when prospects interact with the marketing assets, or send new
leads to the Sales team, or share important prospect activity data with
the Marketing team.
● Opt in to the beta in Pardot settings and the Slack workspace admin
should configure the Slack app to connect to Pardot.
● Set up the Slack connector in Pardot (add the Slack workspace and
select channels).
● After that, a Slack notification appears as an option for completion
actions on Pardot assets.
Reset Bounce Counts on Prospect Records
Users with the Pardot Administrator or Marketing user roles can reset the
count for hard or soft bounces on prospect records when bounce issues
are resolved, so the prospect becomes eligible to receive emails.
Customize Prospect Unsubscribe and Resubscribe Page Content:
Control all the messaging that appears on Pardot unsubscribe and resubscribe
pages (unsubscribe prompt, button text, confirmation messages…)
See When and How Segmentation Prospect Lists Were Updated:
Segmentation list view in Pardot now includes two new columns: Updated At
and Updated By, so can filter the list view based on column data.
Unarchived Dynamic Lists Retain Prospects:
When you unarchive a dynamic list, the list retains the prospects it had when it
was archived. Then the list rules are rerun to look for matching prospects. There
can be changes after that, so it is recommended to wait for the confirmation
email that the list is restored before sending to it.
View IP Address for Prospect Activities:

Enforce OAuth Scope for Lightning Apps
Enforces the scope of an OAuth token used to authenticate a Lightning app.
The scope of an OAuth token is defined in a connected app and this
prevents a Lightning app from using OAuth tokens with unintended
permissions. Applies to Lightning apps, including Lightning Out apps, that
use OAuth for authentication in LEX, Classic, and custom mobile apps.
If you use an OAuth token to access a Lightning app, ensure that the OAuth
scope is set to one of the following values:
● Allow access to Lightning applications (lightning)
● Provide access to custom applications (visualforce)
● Provide access to your data via the web (web)
● Full access (full). Only if none of the other options are sufficient.
Release Updates: (Enforced in Winter’22)
Delete Your Original Territory Management Sharing Records
With this update the original territory management sharing records are
deleted to prevent issues in Enterprise Territory Management. It eliminates
unintended user access to records and resolves a known issue related to blank
rows on Activities reports. Records based on original territory management
sharing no longer appear in reports, and users can no longer access records
based on original territory management sharing.
Deploy a My Domain:
All Salesforce orgs must have a My Domain, so orgs needs to deploy one, or
SF will assign one for them based on the org ID. Deploying a My Domain
brands the login URL with the chosen My Domain name. It also removes the
instance name from the login URL. Because this affects all application URLs, it
is recommended that orgs test and deploy a My Domain before enforced.
Securely Access Aura Components
This ensures that an external component with access="public" is accessible
only to other components within its same namespace or to internal Salesforce
components. Without this update, Aura inconsistently determines component
access for custom components with access="public". Fixing this can reveal
other issues previously undetected. For example, a callback that wasn’t
wrapped in $A.getCallback() could lose its context but still run successfully.
After this, if a callback loses its context, the access check fails with an error.
Securely Call the Visualforce Remoting API
The Visualforce Remoting API uses JavaScript to call methods in Apex
controllers directly from Visualforce pages. To ensure that the API is properly
secured, calls now have stricter validation. This modifies how the CSRF token is
created for the Visualforce $RemoteAction global variable, adds more
protection to API remoting calls by guest users. Also, validates the {"apexType":
"Object"} parameter used by the Visualforce $RemoteAction global variable
against the Apex method parameter and throws an error if the apexType
parameter is invalid.
