Clearing up the Confusion Infrastructure is solid We have added another T1 line to increase broadband We have one to one computer ratio All computers are less than one year old We have internet 24/7 Our rating should be “Target Tech”
Administration We have the technical staff to support 500 computers We have a full time technology director We have completive grants and local funding to maintain our technology Our rating should be “Advance Tech”
Educator Preparation There is integration of technology in the classroom There is use of online resources regularly 60% of educators meet SBEC standards Our rating should be “Advance Tech”
Teaching and learning Students work with peers and experts to evaluate information Technology is integrated into foundation TEKS High school campus offer at least 4 technology applications courses Our rating should be advanced
Why have our ratings declined slightly? Educators don’t understand the significance of the STaR chart New teachers are not aware of all of the technology yet Some older teachers are resisting the use of technology
Our goal On demand access for every student Campus plan to focus on student success Regular technology-supported learner-centered projects The teacher to serve as facilitator, mentor and co-learner
