China has had rising cases of state surveillance using facial
recognition and security cameras. The system has a high
capacity of scanning faces in a very short time. The action has
been criticized by other nations since it imposes control on the
public. The communist government of China uses surveillance
to maintain order using their own constraints. Many citizens
have gotten punished for little mistakes due to surveillance.
The surveillance state at China has been negative and requires
transformation. The fact that people get punished for minor
offences is not positive. Democracy should get maintained so
that citizens live freely. The development of apps such as
WeChat created more power for government to monitor citizens.
As such, surveillance should not get limited and only acquire
information that citizens allow to get recorded.
Eck, K. & Hatz, S. (2020). State surveillance and the COVID-19
crisis. Journal of Human
Rights,19, (5). 603-612.

Surveillance state has been made evident during the Covid-19
pandemic. Governments have adopted technological means of
monitoring citizens in order to limit spread of the virus. The
article states that governments monitor citizens to ensure
abidance to laws. The crisis that occurred due to the Covid-19
pandemic resulted in more implementation of state surveillance.
The main reason was to ensure limited disease outbreak and
panic.
The fact that governments and health institutions launched
surveillance techniques results in the technique’s study.
Surveillance has provided collection of many types of data from
people. Data collection is a critical process that requires experts
to handle the data. Misinformation is common since access of
data is possible on many platforms. In this regard, governments
should implement access control and security of data collected
during surveillance.

Don’t Know It. Retrieved 5 January 2021 from

.
The article focuses on how the current digitized environment
has hardware and technical components can “listen” to human
beings. The author explains that use of the IoT devices puts
people at a higher risk of getting exposed to technical means of
surveillance. Televisions have also been discovered to be
listening in on conversations. Mobile Phones also listen to
conversations. This causes majority of advertisements suitable
to users’ desires. The article explains that surveillance is
detrimental to privacy.
The article is effective since many individuals provide personal
data to technical components. Mobile phones, laptops, online
accounts, and websites all ask for personal information. Devices
that people use also have microphones that listen to
conversations. Surveillance techniques hijack personal data and
use it for business activities. The actions are detrimental
especially when the information gets leaked to third-parties.
Maier, K. (2020). The Surveillance State Is a Reality. Retrieved
5 January 2021 from
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2020-06-26/the-
surveillance-state-is-a-reality.
The article states that surveillance has already gotten
established in the current digital environment. Proof exists due
to the tracing apps implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Although surveillance has identified individuals, there are
negative outcomes. Surveillance has been inaccurate when
assessing persons of color in police investigations. Human
rights groups have advocated for limited surveillance.
The existence of surveillance states has been positive when
dealing with disease management. The technique becomes
detrimental when the police apply dangerous techniques.
Assessment of criminals should always get done with accurate
surveillance. Digital surveillance also gets applied by
government to monitor other countries. The technique is
negative and affects international ties.
Lemiuex, P. (2018). Why the Surveillance State is Dangerous.
Retrieved 5 January 2021
From
https://www.econlib.org/archives/2018/06/why_the_surveil.html
.
The fact the current environment conducts surveillance of the
public does not seem dangerous to some persons. The article
states that some surveillance techniques only assess the public.
They are not always used to produce negative outcomes. The
article states that surveillance is conducted through storage of
public information like fingerprints, ID cards, and videos.
Surveillance is detrimental because it offers the possibility of
control.
The is issue of surveillance is common in various countries.
Issues have been more common as innovative methods of
communication get developed. The government often has the
power to use surveillance techniques to create policies suitable
to citizens. It is detrimental for the government to posses so
much information about the public. Surveillance can introduce
new laws that may not seem effective for citizens.
Unit II Project
Instructions
Benefits of Organizational Diversity
You are the consultant assigned to study the organizational
environment in the Miami, Florida, and the Kansas City,
Missouri, offices. Both are service call centers for Fig
Technologies. The workforces have a large cross-section of
locals from the area, university graduates from nearby
institutions, and transfers from other offices within the
organization. The offices are facing issues in several areas.
The two offices have a friendly rivalry with regard to
professional sports and local college teams. In the Florida
office, there have been concerns raised, including some
complaints that the rivalry has gone to extremes.
Contingent software developers in both offices from Brazil and
South Africa have been unable to get people excited about
fútbol instead of football. A few individuals in the Kansas City
office have begun hanging out together and talking in the break
areas about their relationships with same-sex partners, multiple
partners, and some encounters of homosexual and heterosexual
relationships together. A petition is circulating around the
Kansas City office about these types of discussions being
banned.
You are being sent to assess the environment and provide a
report of your findings. The report should be in three sections:
· assessment of findings in Miami, FL;
· assessment of findings in Kansas City, MO; and
· recommendation for addressing these findings to the Executive
Leadership Council (ELC) for review.
In your assessment of findings, be sure to evaluate how
organizational cultures are perceived and how problem solving
and creativity are promoted with organizational diversity. In
your recommendations for the ELC, contrast the benefits and
disadvantages of diversity, and establish the value of working
through these issues to create a dynamic organizational culture.
How will you channel this diversity and help create a positive
atmosphere?
Support your recommendation through the use of at least two
sources, one of which can be the textbook. Content should be
three to four pages in length. Length does not include an
assessment tool, if used, though it may be added as an
addendum (recommended, not required). All sources used,
including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and
quoted material must have accompanying citations. All
references and citations used must be in APA style.
Have some fun with the assignment. Use your creative thinking
along with your critical thinking to include your perspective of
the findings and how to address the issue.

Running head surveillance state research1 page 2running

  • 1. Running head: SURVEILLANCE STATE RESEARCH 1 PAGE 2 Running head: SURVEILLANCE STATE RESEARCH Surveillance State Research Briger, S. & Kelley, S. (2021). Facial Recognition And Beyond: Journalist Ventures Inside China's 'Surveillance State'. Retrieved 5 January 2021 from ventures-inside-chinas-surveillance-sta" https://www.npr.org/2021/01/05/953515627/facial-recognition- and-beyond-journalist ventures-inside-chinas-surveillance-sta . China has had rising cases of state surveillance using facial recognition and security cameras. The system has a high capacity of scanning faces in a very short time. The action has been criticized by other nations since it imposes control on the public. The communist government of China uses surveillance to maintain order using their own constraints. Many citizens have gotten punished for little mistakes due to surveillance. The surveillance state at China has been negative and requires transformation. The fact that people get punished for minor offences is not positive. Democracy should get maintained so that citizens live freely. The development of apps such as WeChat created more power for government to monitor citizens. As such, surveillance should not get limited and only acquire information that citizens allow to get recorded. Eck, K. & Hatz, S. (2020). State surveillance and the COVID-19
  • 2. crisis. Journal of Human Rights,19, (5). 603-612. https://doi.org/10.1080/14754835.2020.1816163. Surveillance state has been made evident during the Covid-19 pandemic. Governments have adopted technological means of monitoring citizens in order to limit spread of the virus. The article states that governments monitor citizens to ensure abidance to laws. The crisis that occurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in more implementation of state surveillance. The main reason was to ensure limited disease outbreak and panic. The fact that governments and health institutions launched surveillance techniques results in the technique’s study. Surveillance has provided collection of many types of data from people. Data collection is a critical process that requires experts to handle the data. Misinformation is common since access of data is possible on many platforms. In this regard, governments should implement access control and security of data collected during surveillance. Fou, A. (2020). Everything Is Listening—We Already Live in A Surveillance State, We Just Don’t Know It. Retrieved 5 January 2021 from live-in-a-surveillance-state-we-just-dont-know- it/?sh=7502cb8c3635" https://www.forbes.com/sites/augustinefou/2020/09/01/everythi ng-is-listeningwe-already live-in-a-surveillance-state-we-just-dont-know- it/?sh=7502cb8c3635 . The article focuses on how the current digitized environment
  • 3. has hardware and technical components can “listen” to human beings. The author explains that use of the IoT devices puts people at a higher risk of getting exposed to technical means of surveillance. Televisions have also been discovered to be listening in on conversations. Mobile Phones also listen to conversations. This causes majority of advertisements suitable to users’ desires. The article explains that surveillance is detrimental to privacy. The article is effective since many individuals provide personal data to technical components. Mobile phones, laptops, online accounts, and websites all ask for personal information. Devices that people use also have microphones that listen to conversations. Surveillance techniques hijack personal data and use it for business activities. The actions are detrimental especially when the information gets leaked to third-parties. Maier, K. (2020). The Surveillance State Is a Reality. Retrieved 5 January 2021 from https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2020-06-26/the- surveillance-state-is-a-reality. The article states that surveillance has already gotten established in the current digital environment. Proof exists due to the tracing apps implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although surveillance has identified individuals, there are negative outcomes. Surveillance has been inaccurate when assessing persons of color in police investigations. Human rights groups have advocated for limited surveillance. The existence of surveillance states has been positive when dealing with disease management. The technique becomes detrimental when the police apply dangerous techniques. Assessment of criminals should always get done with accurate surveillance. Digital surveillance also gets applied by government to monitor other countries. The technique is
  • 4. negative and affects international ties. Lemiuex, P. (2018). Why the Surveillance State is Dangerous. Retrieved 5 January 2021 From https://www.econlib.org/archives/2018/06/why_the_surveil.html . The fact the current environment conducts surveillance of the public does not seem dangerous to some persons. The article states that some surveillance techniques only assess the public. They are not always used to produce negative outcomes. The article states that surveillance is conducted through storage of public information like fingerprints, ID cards, and videos. Surveillance is detrimental because it offers the possibility of control. The is issue of surveillance is common in various countries. Issues have been more common as innovative methods of communication get developed. The government often has the power to use surveillance techniques to create policies suitable to citizens. It is detrimental for the government to posses so much information about the public. Surveillance can introduce new laws that may not seem effective for citizens. Unit II Project Instructions Benefits of Organizational Diversity You are the consultant assigned to study the organizational environment in the Miami, Florida, and the Kansas City, Missouri, offices. Both are service call centers for Fig Technologies. The workforces have a large cross-section of locals from the area, university graduates from nearby institutions, and transfers from other offices within the organization. The offices are facing issues in several areas. The two offices have a friendly rivalry with regard to
  • 5. professional sports and local college teams. In the Florida office, there have been concerns raised, including some complaints that the rivalry has gone to extremes. Contingent software developers in both offices from Brazil and South Africa have been unable to get people excited about fútbol instead of football. A few individuals in the Kansas City office have begun hanging out together and talking in the break areas about their relationships with same-sex partners, multiple partners, and some encounters of homosexual and heterosexual relationships together. A petition is circulating around the Kansas City office about these types of discussions being banned. You are being sent to assess the environment and provide a report of your findings. The report should be in three sections: · assessment of findings in Miami, FL; · assessment of findings in Kansas City, MO; and · recommendation for addressing these findings to the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) for review. In your assessment of findings, be sure to evaluate how organizational cultures are perceived and how problem solving and creativity are promoted with organizational diversity. In your recommendations for the ELC, contrast the benefits and disadvantages of diversity, and establish the value of working through these issues to create a dynamic organizational culture. How will you channel this diversity and help create a positive atmosphere? Support your recommendation through the use of at least two sources, one of which can be the textbook. Content should be three to four pages in length. Length does not include an assessment tool, if used, though it may be added as an addendum (recommended, not required). All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations. All references and citations used must be in APA style. Have some fun with the assignment. Use your creative thinking along with your critical thinking to include your perspective of
