This document presents work from the 7th International Conference on Real-Time Simulation Technologies, focusing on the development and implementation of an excitation control system and wide-area control systems using real-time hardware-in-the-loop (RT-HIL) simulation. It highlights collaborations between KTH and Statnett SF, detailing experiments conducted to assess excitation control systems, including testing of power oscillation damping and custom embedded controllers. Additionally, the document discusses the integration of open-source SCADA systems and PMU measurements for enhanced power system monitoring and control.
