Anticipatory Set / Make Connection (learner’s strengths & interests)/ Modeling / Direct instruction and
Guided practice

Intro: Today we are going to talk about respecting personal boundaries.People have a right to be
alone, keep things to themselves, or just not speak to certain people. By respecting these personal
boundaries, you will be able to get more friends and keep the ones you already have.

Ant Set: These students do a good job of showing how to respect personal boundaries when it
comes to starting conversations. Let’s watch what they do.Watch Model Me video

Lesson: Respecting people’s boundaries means we:
    1. DO::Give people their physical space. Stay at least an arm’s length away. Don’t crowd people
       without their inviting you into their space. CFU:: At least how far away should we stand? The
       entire class then practices standing at least an arms length away from one another.
    2. DO::Give people their time alone. Don’t expect people to speak about their private matters.
    3. DO:: Respect privacy. Don’t be pushy! CFU:: Respect what?
    4. DO::Let other people talk and do things with other people without me around. Don’t be pushy!
       CFU:: Don’t be what?

Modeling: Model Me Video, Classroom reenactments/interpretations

Guided Practice:I will break the class into small groups and have them discuss each of the 4 points.
After a minute each, I will ask a member from each group to briefly share what they discussed.

Instruction: Anticipatory Set / Make Connection (learner’s strengths & interests)/ Modeling / Direct instruction and Guided practice Intro: Today we are going to talk about respecting personal boundaries.People have a right to be alone, keep things to themselves, or just not speak to certain people. By respecting these personal boundaries, you will be able to get more friends and keep the ones you already have. Ant Set: These students do a good job of showing how to respect personal boundaries when it comes to starting conversations. Let’s watch what they do.Watch Model Me video Lesson: Respecting people’s boundaries means we: 1. DO::Give people their physical space. Stay at least an arm’s length away. Don’t crowd people without their inviting you into their space. CFU:: At least how far away should we stand? The entire class then practices standing at least an arms length away from one another. 2.
