Overview
This procedure covers the configuration of the US-Robotics Model 8004 router
Equipment Required
 Laptop/PC with network cable
 US-Robotics model 8004 Router
Resetting Router to Defaults
When performing the initial configuration on the model 8004, it is recommended the CSE reset
the router to factory defaults. Some routers may have shipped with incorrect configurations. The
result is the routers MAC address and firewall may be incorrectly configured.
Method 1

 Select the Toolbox option
 Scroll down and select the Reset to Default button, and select OK when prompted to
Reset All Settings to Default. The router will clear the configuration file, display the
System Status page and log you out
Note: The firmware will not be reset.
Method 2
 This method for clearing the router configuration is use the router’s reset button. To use
this method, disconnect the router power plug, press and hold the router’s reset button
using a paperclip, reconnect power to the router, release rest button after about 10
seconds
Configuring Primary Setup
The router’s WAN side interface can be configured in one of two ways:
 DHCP IP: Router’s WAN side will acquire its IP address from the customers DHCP
server
 Static IP: CSE manually enter IP address supplied by the customer
