Route66 Rescue is a no-kill animal rescue group in Missouri founded in 2012 by Maral Cavner. As a no-kill shelter, it does not euthanize animals to make space for new arrivals and relies on adoption fees and donations. The shelter takes in stray and owner-surrendered dogs and cats when possible. It aims to provide dogs with sanctuary through foster homes or its shelter until adoption. In 2014, it assisted the city of Ozark by taking animals from facilities to comply with a new ordinance banning euthanasia of adoptable dogs except those that are vicious or diseased.
