1) Romulus and Remus were twin brothers who were abandoned as infants and raised by a she-wolf. 2) As adults, they could not agree on where to establish a new city - Romulus chose Palatine Hill while Remus preferred Aventine Hill. 3) To settle the dispute, they agreed to wait for an omen from the gods, but after Remus claimed to see six vultures first, a jealous Romulus killed him. 4) Romulus went on to found the city of Rome on Palatine Hill in 753 BC, becoming its first king.
