Women had very few rights and their lives were strictly controlled during the Renaissance period. They were expected to obey their fathers before marriage and their husbands after. Most women who did not marry joined convents. Wealthy women had some social standing but were still meant to please and support the men in their lives. Women's work was confined to the household and domestic duties, regardless of social class. They had little education and faced punishment for disobeying men. Tens of thousands of women were executed on accusations of witchcraft from 1560-1670.

Traditionally, classes and textbooks on Western history have had little to say about the lives of women in Western civilization. This lack of attention was largely due to the fact that women were officially excluded from politics and the military in such formative civilizations as Classical Greece and Rome, as well as being excluded from official positions within the early Christian Church. In fact, when women did draw the attention of historians in the Classical and Medieval eras, it was usually because these women were transgressing accepted norms in these male-dominated, hierarchical societies. However, as we now know, women contributed to these early societies in very important ways, not just as wives and mothers but, occasionally, as political leaders and even military figures. In this class, we’ll examine the political, social, and cultural forces that shaped women’s lives, and we’ll examine the lives of a few of the remarkable women who challenged these forces, both successfully and unsuccessfully.Victorian times

In the present article I do not intend to undertake a comprehensive presentation about this subject that hinges on the interaction of multiple fallacies and systematized falsification.
Primarily, there is no Biblical reference to the state that today is fallaciously and mendaciously named ´Ethiopia´; similarly, the Bible does not mention anything about the Axumite Abyssinians, the ancestors of today´s Amhara and Tigray who tyrannically rule Abyssinia (fake Ethiopia) and therein imprisoned subjugated nations.
All Biblical references to Kush (Ethiopia) concern Ancient Sudan, and the people who have been related with Napata and Meroe, the two capitals of the Ancient and true, Ethiopia. Descendants of these people are today the Arabic-speaking Sudanese, and the Kushitic nations that have been subjugated by the Abyssinains, namely the Oromos, the Sidamas, the Hadiyas, the Kaffas and the Kambatas.
Secondly, there has never been any connection of the Biblical and Quranic Yemenite Queen of Sheba with any African territory, let alone Axum whereby excavations have been highly propagandized as revealing connections that are hypothetical, preposterous, and – worse – premeditated.

As ideas for this book occurred to me, I frequently thought of the many famous women who had used the power of belief. Once Ben Hur Lampman specifically suggested that I write about them:
"Many women may not realize they can use your science just as advantageously as men, and you should be specific in your message to them. That is true, and once women understand their power - and you can give them the clue - they may actually run this whole world. Introduction
There never was a time when women were more frequently made the subject of verse, nor worshipped with greater devotion, then the age of chivalry. It was a time when the duty and pleasure of every gentleman was to be the slave of the same lady, and when the passion of love was studied more ardently and expressed in more delicate and sincere language than at any other time.
The introduction among the rules of chivalry of the so-called "Science of Love" brought into the customs and ideas of medieval society a new element which became almost immediately dominant, side by side with the purely warlike element and the religious element.
The new doctrine, when brought in from Provence, France and spread by means of crusaders returning from the Holy Land, found a congenial atmosphere in the North of France and among the Normans, where women already occupied a dignified and independent position.
The effects of the troubadour poetry originating from Provence, the new relation of men to women, or knights to ladies, cannot be over-estimated. Fully developed by the Provençal poets, and received by the chivalry of Southern France as a rule of life, it was accepted by the northern French and the Normans as a new gospel.
The brotherhood of the chivalry looked upon a new definition of love and found it in the poetry of troubadours the modish literature of the time. Life was glorified by the discovery that it could be built upon love and that the highest glory of a man was to own the domination of a lady. Gallantry became a rule of knightly conduct and took its place by the side of honor and religion as one of the chief motives of action, the standards to which all conduct must be referred. The rule of gallantry regulated the sentiment of soldiers separated for long periods from their wives, gave the fair to the brave, gave a new position to women, and was justified by authority.
The Roles of Women in the Middle Ages were fundamentally changed between the middle of the 11th Century and the middle of the 12th Century, when women were elevated, literally, to the condition of goddesses. In earlier times, women had reigned, been honored, but there had been no gallantry in a world where relation of the sexes had been natural and simple, the outgrowth of material and social conditions. From this period onwards, a new sentiment takes its place as a leading motive of life, connected with rank, wealth, and pride of place, and which found its natural development in a society governed by a warlike nobility, for whose convenience the trading and laboring classes existed.
Such was the force of this change in the Roles of Medieval Women, that even the three motives of chivalry changed priorities, so now honor, gallantry, and after them religion were the motivating factors of the medieval knightly life. Modern courtesy is descended from the medieval gallantry and owes to it the touch of romance which is absent from the lo.
