celebrating the New Year with his friends and girlfriend, Sophina. From this story, it
is clear that Oscar was attempting to change his story by being a better father to his
daughter, Tatiana, thinking about marrying Sophina, and better providing for his
family by getting a stable job and being a man that his mother and sister could rely
upon. While the incident that occurred at Fruitvale Station could be analyzed from
any variety of theories, this paper will examine these events from the lens of Conflict
Theory and Social Learning Theory. These theories intertwine in many ways, but they

depiction of a true story involving the death of Oscar Grant in a train station in

Influences You can be influenced by anything, the television, your friends and
your family. If you are influenced by these factors negatively, the influences may
push you to lead dangerous, life threatening decisions. How far can the media,
family, and friends push you? Media has had an increasingly negative impact
(Mokeyane 2); media affects the lives of us all negatively at some point. People
are being driven to eating disorders and others by copying the behaviors of the
lifestyles being projected. Teenagers are surrounded by all types of media; radios,
television, magazines, and the internet. All this media will produce images in our
teenagers brains that they need to be perfect to be accepted in society from ads
with skinny supermodels. How did this unrealistic idea of the perfection of the

When you pick up the 1982 album, Nebraska, you get little to no indication of
Bruce Springsteen other than his name emboldened in blood red capital letters
across the front. You won t find a smirking Dylan esque portrait like the album that
came before it, or a baseball cap hanging from his blue jean pocket like the album
that came after it. The black and white photo of a sprawling country landscape
coupled with the contrasting red text immediately gives the feeling of despondence.
If anything, this picture is a warning to the listener: we are alone now. The album

I have had the experience to teach the class four times during the semester and
each of them has helped me to learn a lot. Dr. Walenciak has been traveling a lot so
I have been in charge of the class those times. The first time, I was terrified the day
before of the class. I needed to talk about the chapter of Ostrander s book that talks
about the history of Christian education. I prepared myself a lot and the day of the
class I divided the time so the students could work on a project that we have. I try
to summarize the chapter while explaining it. I planned to talk for 25 minutes and
I ended up talking for 15 minutes. I was talking too fast and skipping important
points without realizing about that. At the time of the class, I felt confident but I
was a little nervous and it was harder to express my ideas in English but I manage
to overcome that. I was able to explain everything but I was a little disappointed
that I could not meet my time goal. After that, I ask them some questions to see if
they have understood the topic. It was interesting because I could feel somehow the
feeling of the teacher when nobody participates in the class. At the beginning,
everyone was quiet but after a while, they start participating. To finish the class, I
gave them some time to get in groups and discuss their progress for the final project.

According to the online dictionary, a bully is someone that uses superior strength or
influence to intimidate another person typically to force the bullied person to do
what the bully wants them to do. Bullying, whether in person or in the cyber world,
has become an extremely large issue in society. I live in a very small, rural
community where life is very laid back and everyone knows each other, but bullying
still exists. I find it very interesting that each public school in Pennsylvania has an anti

Portland Cement gained its name from its colour, as it matched the colour of Portland

The evolution of concrete has allowed us to create more workable concrete and as a
result allows better bonding due to the chemical reaction at a molecular level between
the water and cement. This reaction bonds the aggregate and acts much like a
bridging compound which binds the aggregate together.
Modern construction utilises properties of concrete and allows the creation of large
structures. In order to achieve this we must understand the expectations of concrete
and how it works.
Aims of the Experiment

The aim of this experiment was to understand the properties of fresh and cured
concrete, looking at the relationship between workability and compressive strength.
The workability of 3 concrete mix samples, each with different water to cement ratios
were tested by means of an in situ slump tests.
The purpose of the slump test is to initially give a quick solution to measure the
workability of a concrete mix and visually gain an approximation of how versatile
the mix will be during its application. This can also be used for checking for
consistency between several batches / pours.

logistics and even a waitress, but now I am what I call professional student. At
present, this latest one is an unpaying position, at least, does not pay cash but is

average college student types at about 30 35 wpm. We increased speed by taking
