Autonomous vehicles have been envisioned for decades and are now becoming a reality. Tests of autonomous driving technologies began as early as the 1940s. Modern autonomous vehicles use GPS and lidar sensors to map their surroundings and plan routes from point A to B without human input. Major companies like Google, Uber, and Tesla are actively working on autonomous vehicle technologies. While autonomous vehicles could help reduce traffic accidents by 80% by 2050, important questions remain around legal responsibility if accidents occur and how vehicles will handle emergency situations through "death algorithms." The widespread adoption of autonomous vehicles will change transportation but also create new jobs and opportunities.

2. For more than thirty years we have seen
countless films about them, and scientists
have told us of their imminence in
everyday use.

3. Has it really become a reality? Yes.
Autonomous cars are already in tests
for distribution, in the case of vehicles
that can be driven automatically
without the direction of a human
being. They imitate to perfection the
human capacity of direction,
orientation and control.

4. The history of these vehicles is not as recent as we
could think...
Already in the decade of the 40s, it began the tests of
guide and direction in different roads when placing in
the way objects that could be detected and avoided.
Then, in the 80s, the radar survey began and evolved
into what we know today as GPS technology. Through
this technology with the addition of other robotic
components, we already have the production of
Autonomous Automobiles.

5. NOWADAYS..

6. Already locating in the year 2018, we are talking
about three functional phases necessary for a car
to move by itself without causing accidents, one
of the main things to be avoided from its launch.

7. The first phase is the GPS location, placing the
vehicle inside a map and being able to visualize
everything that is around it. The GPS devices
used are of the finest technology, with high detail
sensors called "LIDAR". It needs to be this way for
it to be possible to guide the vehicle on tracks in
which there will be all kinds of obstacles with
which the car could collide with, from objects, to
natural formations and human beings.

8. The second phase is the planning phase, which
describes by means of processes all the
movements that the car must pass to go from
point A to point B.

9. The third and final phase is execution,
which is the final application of the route
of the established route. The date that
several years ago was given for the
beginning of the commercialization of
these machines was for this 2018 and
already big empires like Google, Uber and
Tesla are working actively in them.

11. As we mentioned, one of the objectives of putting in mass
distribution to autonomous automobiles is to reduce the rate of
traffic accidents, which is currently caused by 90% by human
beings. By the year 2050, already existing and forming part of
everyday use, it is projected that traffic accidents will decrease by
80% of current statistics. This not only represents a benefit for the
human kind - in addition to the profitability of the companies that
produce them - but it will put in check items such as insurance,
which will have to be reconsidered with this decrease in accidents.

12. What is still to be defined is the responsibility that the
crew member of these vehicles will have when an
accident does occur, which even when talking about
control can occur. If a traffic accident occurs, is the
operator or the vehicle manufacturer guilty? Taking into
account that they were designed to avoid obstacles and
stay within the traffic legislation.

13. In addition, there is something that these vehicles will
have incorporated called "death algorithm". It is a
mathematical decision that the vehicle, within its
autonomy, must take as any driver. At the time of an
emergency, should you take care of the life of the
passenger or pedestrians on the street? If it is necessary
to stop completely towards which place I am heading, is
the car going to stop even if its going at full speed?

14. "We are only steps away from achieving the distribution
and massive commercialization of autonomous vehicles
that change the panorama of mobilization for now on.
This not only means greater comfort for individual users,
but a significant reduction in investment by transport
operators for companies around the world. However,
the automation of daily life does not mean the
