Effort, hard work, dedication and desire for justice are some of the adjectives that describe the
union leader Cesar Chavez. Below I ll explain the efforts that this man did to fight for the
improvement of working conditions for migrant laborers in the farms.
Chavez was an American union leader; born on March 31, 1927 near Yuma (Arizona) and died on
April 23, 1993 in San Luis (Arizona). Cesar Chavez was the founder of la
Unidad de los Trabajadores Agricolas in 1964. He brought together migrant laborers, mostly
Hispanic, to fight for improved working conditions.
During World War II, Cesar Chavez served our country in the Navy. After servicing for 2 years,
he returned to Arizona to work in the field where his family and he worked their entire life. In
1952 he started as an advisor in the Organization of
Community Services (OSC). His great organizational skills made him the director of the
CSO in 1958; he resigned after four years to work on the creation of an agricultural union to fight
for labor rights of Chicano population. In 1962, Cesar founded the National
Farm Workers Association, later become the United Farm Workersor UFW. During all the social

Analysis Of Singers Unlimited
As a prelude to the wondrous holiday season, I attended Singers Unlimited, a performance by the
Hofstra Jazz Ensemble. The performance was a shining example of American creativity, with over
a dozen historical masterpieces of Jazz on display. This paper will analyze every song played in
Singers Unlimited, and discuss the musical factors which truly made them the gems of history.
The first song, Strike up the Band, is the product of George Gershwin and arranger Sammy
Nestico. The piece is played in C Major and has a quick tempo, giving it an upbeat and energetic
feel. When the song begins, it is instantly recognizable as a part of the big band era, with its heavy
use of the trumpet, tenor saxophone and drums.
The second song, Sing, Sing, Sing by Louis Prima, is in my opinion one of the greatest songs of
the swing era. The whole piece has a 4/4 time, with a quick tempo that creates a lively feel. The
intro contains a three bar drum solo. Eventually, a 12 bar melody is played on the brass
instruments. Transitioning into the first solo, two bars are played on the drums. The solo is played
on the trumpet for 12 bars. In the upcoming 25 bars, Benny Goodman becomes the center of
attention with his clarinet solo.. The piece concludes with the final ten bars, as the entire band
plays the melody. This song s liveliness and tempo creates the perfect environment for dancing.
The third song, Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars (Corcovado), is the product of Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Abstract Process of selecting relevant features from available dataset is known as features selection.
Feature selection is use to remove or reduce redundant and irrelevant features. Various feature
selection algorithms such as CFS (correlation feature selection), FCBF (Fast Correlation Based
Filter) and CMIM (Conditional Mutual Information Maximization) are used to remove redundant
and irrelevant features. To determine efficiency and effectiveness is the aim of feature selection
algorithm. Time factor is denoted by efficiency and quality factor is denoted by effectiveness of
subset of features. Problem of feature selection algorithm is accuracy is not guaranteed,
computational complexity is large, ineffective at removing redundant features. To overcome these
problems Fast Clustering based feature selection algorithm (FAST) is used. Removal of irrelevant
features, construction of MST (Minimum Spanning Tree) from relative one and partition of MST
and selecting representative features using kruskal s method are the three steps used by FAST
algorithm.
