Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by an
individual experiencing intrusive thoughts, images, or worries in addition to
repetitive, non functional behaviours that emerge in an effort to suppress anxiety (i.e.
compulsions) (American Psychiatric Association, 1994). Symptoms are often time
consuming, and can cause considerable functional impairments, contribute to

change of the earlier diffuse philosophy of Comte and others into a systematic
discipline. He was known as a key figure in the development of sociology

According to Durkheim, Catholic society has normal levels of integration while
Protestant society has lower levels (1951, pp.324 325). Durkheim defines religion as a
unified system of beliefs and practices relative to scared things, that is to say,

moral community called a church, all those who adhere to them (1951,p.62). He
also says the term suicide is applied to all cases of death resulting directly or
indirectly from a positive or negative act of the victim himself, which he knows will

This year, almost every other day, whenever I turned the news channel on, I d
always hear about a shooting. Whether it was a shooting in a small neighborhood of
New Jersey or the mass shooting in Las Vegas, all of them would bring the same
question to my mind: are guns really protecting people? Many people in this country
believe that they have the right to own a gunto protect themselves and their loved
ones, and I understand where they are coming from because I d want to make sure
my family is safe too. So I decided to take a good look at the situation. I needed to

Guns became available for purchase to the common civilian after the Bill of
Rights came into existence. The Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights, passed
by the Congress on September 25, 1789, states that people of this country have the
right to own arms and that this right cannot be infringed by anyone. According to
an interpretation of the Second Amendment, Many in the Founding generation
believed that governments are prone to use soldiers to oppress the people (Lund),
which suggests that the one of the reasons behind forming a provision for people
to bear arms was to safeguard the people if there was ever a chance of federal
oppression on them, a lesson America learned with their encounter with the English
