He served as a fighter pilot in the British Royal Air Force during the World War Two

the age of 74. He was
buried in Great
Missenden
Buckinghamshire,
England
Sets of stamps have been issued featuring Quentin Blake’s original
illustrations of Dahl’s books.
In 2002 Cardiff’s Oval Basin Plaza was renamed ‘Roald Dahl Plass’.
Plass is the Norwegian word for place or square
In June 2005, The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Center in the
author’s home village Great Missenden was officially opened
