In this above questionnaire Nominal scaling & Arbitrary scaling has been used.

In every research survey the questionnaire is made with scaling technique. Scaling techniques
came from statistics for measuring the data in different scales. There is different type of scaling
techniques used in a questionnaire like

Nominal - A nominal scale, as the name implies, is simply some placing of data into categories,
without any order or structure.

Ordinal - The simplest ordinal scale is a ranking. An ordinal scale is next up the list in terms of
power of measurement.

Interval - The standard survey rating scale is an interval scale.

Ratio - A ratio scale is the top level of measurement and is not often available in social research.
The factor which clearly defines a ratio scale is that it has a true zero point.

In this above questionnaire nominal scaling is used. Every question are of qualitative term, there
is no need of mark ranking or find the ratio of any data that is why I used only nominal scaling.

If sampling is taking into consideration then my target audience is the job holder people, from
which my sample size is 100, will be taken from Greater Noida, U.P.

(C)
Nominal scaling

A nominal scale, as the name implies, is simply some placing of data into categories,
       without any order or structure.
Nominal measurement consists of assigning items to groups or categories. No
quantitative information is conveyed and no ordering of the items is implied.
Nominal scales are therefore qualitative rather than quantitative.
Religious preference, race, and sex are all examples of nominal scales. Frequency
distributions are usually used to analyze data measured on a nominal scale.
The main statistic computed is the mode. Variables measured on a nominal scale are
often referred to as categorical or qualitative variables.
The lowest measurement level you can use, from a statistical point of view, is a nominal
       scale.
A physical example of a nominal scale is the terms we use for colours. The underlying
spectrum is ordered but the names are nominal.
In research activities a YES/NO scale is nominal. It has no order and there is no distance
       between YES and NO.
The statistics which can be used with nominal scales are in the non-parametric group.
The most likely ones would be:
       Mode
       cross tabulation - with chi-square.

Arbitrary scale

This scale developed on adhoc basis and is designed largely through the researcher’s own
subjective selection of various items. The researcher first collects a few statements or the items
which he believes are unambiguously & appropriate or suitable to the given topic. The main
advantage of such scales is that they can be developed very easily, quickly and with relatively
less expense.

(D)
Objective of the survey
The objective of the study is based upon the financial planning of the investor.

To know the plan for choosing the different investment options.
To study their perception about different securities.
To know which segment they like to invest more.
Especially to know the thinking about stock market/equity market.
In which segment they think will get a good return.
To know their objectives of investment.
To study their choice of investment with respect to time (Long-term/Short-term).
In what amount they want to start their financial planning.
To study their choice of portfolio in the securities market.
To compare between different securities according to their perception.
To know the proportion of risk takers among the working people.

  • 4. (B) In this above questionnaire Nominal scaling & Arbitrary scaling has been used. In every research survey the questionnaire is made with scaling technique. Scaling techniques came from statistics for measuring the data in different scales. There is different type of scaling techniques used in a questionnaire like Nominal - A nominal scale, as the name implies, is simply some placing of data into categories, without any order or structure. Ordinal - The simplest ordinal scale is a ranking. An ordinal scale is next up the list in terms of power of measurement. Interval - The standard survey rating scale is an interval scale. Ratio - A ratio scale is the top level of measurement and is not often available in social research. The factor which clearly defines a ratio scale is that it has a true zero point. In this above questionnaire nominal scaling is used. Every question are of qualitative term, there is no need of mark ranking or find the ratio of any data that is why I used only nominal scaling. If sampling is taking into consideration then my target audience is the job holder people, from which my sample size is 100, will be taken from Greater Noida, U.P. (C) Nominal scaling A nominal scale, as the name implies, is simply some placing of data into categories, without any order or structure. Nominal measurement consists of assigning items to groups or categories. No quantitative information is conveyed and no ordering of the items is implied. Nominal scales are therefore qualitative rather than quantitative. Religious preference, race, and sex are all examples of nominal scales. Frequency distributions are usually used to analyze data measured on a nominal scale. The main statistic computed is the mode. Variables measured on a nominal scale are often referred to as categorical or qualitative variables. The lowest measurement level you can use, from a statistical point of view, is a nominal scale. A physical example of a nominal scale is the terms we use for colours. The underlying spectrum is ordered but the names are nominal.
  • 5. In research activities a YES/NO scale is nominal. It has no order and there is no distance between YES and NO. The statistics which can be used with nominal scales are in the non-parametric group. The most likely ones would be: Mode cross tabulation - with chi-square. Arbitrary scale This scale developed on adhoc basis and is designed largely through the researcher’s own subjective selection of various items. The researcher first collects a few statements or the items which he believes are unambiguously & appropriate or suitable to the given topic. The main advantage of such scales is that they can be developed very easily, quickly and with relatively less expense. (D) Objective of the survey The objective of the study is based upon the financial planning of the investor.
