Stair scenes of the character Grace running down were filmed from multiple angles. An outdoor walking scene presented challenges from cars and wind noise. A hallway scene required timing to avoid other people and deal with reflections. The classroom scene used classmates as extras and took multiple shots from different angles of each part. Before finishing, the footage was reviewed to identify any issues or rough parts for smooth editing later.

1) For the preliminary task, the filmmakers cast friends with little preparation and were more focused on camera angles than acting quality. They learned the importance of proper casting and preparation.
2) For the full film, they cast one consistent actor and planned locations, shots, and storyboards extensively in advance, leading to a more polished final product.
3) Techniques like shot reverse shot, the 180 degree rule, and match on action editing were attempted more in the full film than the preliminary task, showcasing improved filmmaking skills.
Ig3 evaluation
Within this task, a student created a short film with two other students about a woman being pursued romantically by two men. They filmed scenes of the two men competing for her affection but had to cut some scenes due to one student leaving the program. They used text to fill gaps and edited the film in Adobe Premiere Pro. The strengths included a good script and background to follow as well as realistic acting. Weaknesses included having to change parts due to a student leaving and busy filming locations where people walked in the shots.
Preliminary task evaluation

Filming for the first time

- 1. Risk Assessment There are many risks involved whilst creating our opening sequence ‘The Disappearance of Nancy Adams’. One of these risks is bad lighting, we were using inside of the studio as well as outside. We had a little trouble with the lights inside the studio because it was too dark we couldn’t see the actor’s faces (expressions) when they walked in the room. We tried using small lights from phones to help but it wasn’t as good as we needed it so this resulted in us having to film our sequence all over again with better lighting. The next risk involved in filming was our actors not turning up, we needed to find people who we could rely on because if they cancelled right at the last minute we wouldn’t be able to film with lack of characters. This was another problem we faced, all of our actors were unavailable at the time we needed to film however, luckily we were able to find replacements for them and get our film completed in time for our deadline. Another risk involved is the weather; we had quite a lot of bad weather when we had planned to film. The first time we wanted to film we couldn’t because it was snowing the night before and it was quite windy too. When we filmed the last time, it was extremely cold and a little bit windy making it quite difficult to keep the tripod still. I think our opening sequence could have been improved a lot if it wasn’t so cold because all of our actors found it hard to keep up with the acting and running about with the wind. The third risk involved in the making of our opening sequence was when one of our actors had to run onto the road. This is quite a big risk because if we were filming and she ran out onto the road, a car could’ve driven round the corner too fast and we might not see it in time.
