This document contains two Old English riddles from the Exeter Book manuscript. The first riddle describes an object that was taken by an enemy, wetted and placed in the sun to dry, then cut and decorated with gold. The second riddle describes a creature that ate words but did not gain any knowledge from doing so. Both riddles challenge the reader to determine the answers.
