Why The Three Pigs: A Brief Summary
Once upon a time, there were Three little Pigs, Elihu, Luis Angel, and Oswaldo. They were brothers
and they lived in the forest with their mom, Bianca. There was also a bully named Ricardo, he was a
wolf and he was the biggest bully. One day, Elihu, Luis Angel, and Oswaldo were leaving school
,they were going home and they start to see a moving object.
They're all scared and they don't know what to do. It turns out that the moving object is the big bad
wolf Ricardo. The three pigs are really terrified because they think he's going to eat them. Oswaldo
was the oldest and he stood up to Ricardo. Oswaldo said "I won't let you eat my brothers!" Ricardo
laughs and tell him "You think I'm going to eat you?" and he laughs again. The Pigs are confused ...

The pigs were scared that if Ricardo found out that they told their mom he would still eat them.
Edgar tells them that it won't happen. The pigs feel calm since Edgar told them that, they take him
with Ricardo. Ricardo was still there and seemed pretty mad. Edgar tells him to stand up and to not
move. Ricardo does exactly as what Edgar says, Edgar asks if it was true that he was bullying the
pigs. Ricardo was going to say no but he felt kind of awkward and he actually told the truth. Edgar
asks him why. Ricardo starts to cry and says because he has no friends and that by bullying he won't
feel so lonely, he wants attention. The pigs ask him "Why did you threaten to eat us?" Ricardo
replies "I wasn't going to, I was just saying that." Ricardo is still crying and the pigs go up to him
and says "That they will be his friends."
Ricardo stays there for a moment and thinks. He says "But you guys are just little kids in
elementary, I'm almost in high school!" Oswaldo then replies "I'm almost in Middle school."
Ricardo didn't know what to say but he keeps thinking about what they said. They tell him that if
they can be friends he won't be sad anymore, that he won't feel so lonely. Ricardo asks them one
more thing, he asks "But wouldn't it feel weird after I threatened you?" The pigs said that it
wouldn't. Ricardo thinks and finally accepts to be friends with

Examples Of Patriotism In Young Philip Malloy
Young Philip Malloy was suspended for 2 days from his high school for being patriotic. If you think
I'm lying, I wish I was. You see Philip Malloy goes to Harrison High School and his parents are Ben

National Anthem. There is no rule against it. First, Philip Malloy was suspended for patriotism.
Philip Malloy said. "In school this morning, I was singing the "Star Spangled–Banner" then the

Why Do People Love And Hate Chinese Food?
How are you different from every other human being on this planet? While it is true that we 're all
here sharing the experience of being human, and that gives us commonality, we are each totally
unique beings having our own unique experience of life. Think about it. You can see this truth in the
simplest of things. Some people love the beach while others love the mountains. Some people love
Chinese food, while others hate it. Some people love modern art; others hate it. Some people like
trucks while others prefer sports cars. We are all having our own unique experience in life – leading
to things we like and don 't like, that we think are good or bad – sourced out of the totally unique
entity we each are. How is it that you determine what 's true for you? Have you ever thought about
that? Why do you prefer the beach or the mountains? Why do you love or hate Chinese food? Why
do you love or hate modern art? Why do you prefer trucks or sports cars? Or why do you not care
for any of these things at all? How do you know these things? Where does that knowledge come
from? One of the most powerful stories I was ever told, and one which helped me embrace my
unique truth and experience in life, I call "The Analogy of The Tongue." I know that may sound a
little gross, but it is memorable. Years ago a good friend of mine saw that I was struggling to really
embrace who I was as a minister, an evolutionary advocate, and a spiritual conduit. I didn 't really
know what was evolving

Fruit also has high levels of vitamin C. Minor infections like colds and the flu are also less likely to
happen if you eat plenty of fruits like kiwi, raspberries, blueberries, and citrus fruit, because these
fruits offer high levels of vitamin C (dailymail UK, 2002). This is why increasing fruit intake is
important because you will receive high levels of vitamin C which can reduce the risk of you getting
sick, and it prevents deterioration of memory. I recommend that everybody increase their fruit
uptake to get the benefits of a healthier life. Methods you could try are eating three different types of
fruit a day so you don't get tired of a fruit. Also you could eat fruit as a snack instead of ice cream,
chips, candy etc. Behavior Modification Plan My measureable goal was to eat three servings of fruit
a day by April 22, 2017. I picked this goal because of the benefits of increasing fruit intake. In order
to make sure I adhere to my target goal I will eat three different fruits in a day so I won't get sick of
a certain fruit. I also choose to eat half a cup of blueberries a day to help stimulate new brain cells

with them. I also set up an alarm on my phone to remind me to eat fruit in the morning, at lunch, and

General Electric's Corporate Social Responsability
I chose to look into General Electric for this project because they are an energy supplier and multi–
national company. Energy providers have a reputation as a money hungry companies that care about
the bottom line more than people and the planet. It is easy for a person to assume that a corporation
of GE's size, money would be its only concern. What I learned was that GE has a public image
problem more than a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) problem. The company has been
working to make the people of the planet more Earth friendly by creating technology that has higher
efficiency with fewer emissions and lower resource demands. GE has a well–established strategy for

CSR lacks universal methods. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
mentions that it is important to draw a distinction between CSR as part of strategic business
management concept and charity, sponsorships or philanthropy. The latter applications make
valuable social impacts that enhance the reputations of the companies, however, CSR is a continual
effort instead of an instance. A few features that CSR should focus on are: eco–efficiency, employee
and community relations, environmental management, gender balance, responsible souring, anti–
corruption, stakeholder engagement and human rights. Utilizing some of these key features a
company can bring competitive advantages into the market place. Increased sales and profits from
operational cost savings as well as improved reputation and brand image and customer loyalty can
result from a well–defined CSR strategy.

Ruth B 's Popularity Branches From Vine
Ruth B's popularity branches from Vine, "a little green app" she remembers downloading about four
years back. An ordinary teen, she fiddled about with the app, sharing her various feelings and
playing with social ideas, but additionally discovering several hidden talents. Among those buried
treasures, Ruth encountered a genuine love for music and song, far stronger and more apparent than
in the past. A brief six seconds of improvised lyric about Peter Pan and his band of Lost Boys
positively turned Ruth's life upside down; the world called, waiting and begging for a second line.
The support from fans lead to Ruth writing her first song. From one song branched another until the

Tokyo Rose: Iva Ikoku Toguri Essays
Born on July 4, 1916, in Los Angeles, California, to the parents of Jun and Fumi Toguri, Iva Ikoku
Toguri was an American citizen with Japanese heritage (Lerner 163; Tokyo1). Toguri and her three
siblings were raised in a predominantly white neighborhood in Compton, California, where their
father disapproved of them learning the Japanese language so they could better fit into American
society. Toguri eventually went on to attend Compton Junior College after finishing high school and
then transferred to University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated in 1941 with a
zoology degree (Iva 1; Tokyo 1). Soon after college, Toguri left America to tend to an extremely ill

While working there, Toguri befriended Felipe D'Aquino, a colleague and Portuguese national, and
Major Charles Cousens, a former Australian radio host who was now forced to broadcast on the
propagandist radio show "Zero Hour" (Tokyo 2). Radio Tokyo wanted a female's voice for this show
and since Toguri spoke English, she was the perfect match (Lerner 163). In November 1943, she
joined the radio program under the name "Orphan Ann" playing songs and speaking to the soldiers
for twenty minutes out of each day (Tokyo 2). In 1945, Toguri married D'Aquino and, later that year,
the war finally ended (Iva 1; Tokyo 2).
During the course of the war, Radio Tokyo employed over twenty women to broadcast programs to
the foreign troops (Lerner 163; Iva 1). A myth began to be dispersed and soon the women were all
called "Tokyo Rose" as a whole (Tokyo 3). The reporters of that time were obsessed with finding the
biggest story, locating and interviewing the notorious "Tokyo Rose" (Lerner 163). To accomplish
their goal, they rewarded anyone who could supply information on the whereabouts of her. A Radio
Tokyo employee, Kenkichi Oki, labeled Toguri as "Tokyo Rose" (Iva 1; Lerner 164). As a result, the
reporters pursued Toguri and paid her two thousand dollars for her admission to being "Tokyo Rose"
and for a private interview (Tokyo 3). She only agreed to this proposal because Toguri believed she

Birth Control On Culture And Society
Birth control is a huge issue in our social world. Through the many perspectives birth control can
connect individuals with society. There is a whole culture set around birth control, the media affects
an individual's thoughts, and conflict theory can also affect people's views on contraception.
Culture and society have many factors from a social perspective. They consist of objectives, beliefs,
behaviors, and any other common traits between a group of people. Of course, culture is not fixed.
People are free to choose and change their minds as time passes by. American culture from today is
vastly different from 100 years ago. Some of the changes are due to the advancement of technology
and new inventions. Birth control is one invention to have an effect on culture. Many people
condemn the usage of any form of birth control. Birth control includes hormonal methods, barrier
methods, and natural methods. A symbol of maturity can be seen in these methods of contraception.
For example, for a teenager boy to receive a condom (barrier method) from his father before going
on a date symbolizes the boy ending his childhood and entering adulthood. Also, the condom to the
boy symbolizes the trust the father has given to his son. The father believes that his son will be
responsible and fully trusts in him to make the right decision. Another way contraception can be a
symbol is when a girl decides to use birth control pills. The usage of these pills symbolizes her

Health Issues Of Health Of Women And Infants Essay
"When a child is born the mother is also born again," as rightfully quoted by Gilbert Parker.
Childbirth is one of the greatest privileges on the earth anyone could have and we, as women,
should feel proud to be major contributors for it. A mother plays a key role in aiding healthcare
workers to mitigate the health crisis associated with childbirth by performing her duties faithfully.
One such associated health crisis is "Premature (preterm) birth" which occurs when the baby is born
too early, before 37 weeks of gestational period(CDC,2015). It is an important public health priority
in terms of health of women and infants.
Extent of this public health problem: Every year an estimated 15 million pretaerm babies are born
and this number is still rising.(WHO,2015).In 2014, 1 of every 10 babies born in United States were
premature and black infants were 50% more likely to be born premature than white, Hispanic and
Asian/Pacific islander infants(CDC,2015). Almost 1 million children die each year due to
complications of premature birth(WHO,2015). A major challenge in decreasing the rate of preterm
birth is lack of knowledge about the etiologies and effective strategies for prevention. In order to
create awareness and mollify premature birth, a community based outreach program based on
Transtheoretical Model is proposed to strategically prevent premature birth among high risk
population of African American women.
Priority population:
Premature birth is a major

Analysis Of The Opening And Operations Of The New Library
On the other hand, student, Brad Kramer wrote that he was "utterly overjoyed" at the opening and
operations of the new library (Fetter, 1984, 8). Randy Fussell Everett, responded to comments like
this in order for undergraduate students to receive fair treatment and for the Davis Library to
continue as a resource available to all students (Everett, 1984, 8). Everett argued on behalf of UNC's
undergraduate population by pointing out that Richards was once an undergraduate herself, as well
as the fact that all students on campus have research that needed to be done. Everett was not the only
student upset by Richard's article, a group of students also wrote an article stating, "Dear Mary
Margaret, Who the hell made you God?" and pointed out that blaming undergraduates for all of the
library's problems was ridiculous (Prince, Keith, Turner, McCracken, & Dorm, 1984, 8). Concerns
pertaining to the Davis library were not without reason (Trotter, 1984, 1). The number of people
using the library was counted for in the Wilson Library during its last week of operation, totaling
20,681 students, tallied as the number of students that left the library. In Davis Library's first week, a
41,966 students were counted leaving the library, more than doubling the number of students. This
problem was further pressed in the weeks approaching exams. University Librarian, James F.

The Theory Of The Birth Territory Theory Essay
The theory I selected to apply to the above situation is the Birth Territory theory. This theory was
created from empirical data collected by the authors who serve as both midwives and researchers. It
has a critical post–structural feminist undertone and elaborates on the ideas of Michel Foucault. The
Birth Territory theory predicts and elaborates on the relationships between jurisdiction (use of
authority and influence), terrain (the birthing environment), and personal emotional and
physiological experience by the mother. This nurse–midwifery theory was chosen because both of
the major concepts directly correlate with the incident and are critical aspects of labor and delivery
situations. MAYBE ELABORATE A diagram of the Birth Territory theory can be seen in Appendix
A. Key concepts included in this theory are terrain and jurisdiction. Sub–concepts listed under
terrain include ' 'surveillance room' and sanctum'. Sub–concepts listed under jurisdiction include
'midwifery guardianship', 'integrative power', 'midwifery domination', and 'disintegrative power'.
'Terrain' signifies the aspects of the birth environment. These include physical and geographical
features such as the birthing furniture, as labor and birthing accessories, and personal support
systems (birthing partner). 'Terrain' includes two sub–concepts: 'sanctum' and 'surveillance room'. A
'sanctum' is a homely birthing environment optimally designed to promote a private, healthy labor
and birth. Amenities included

Media Coverage Of Afric The True Nature Of The Culture And...
Media coverage of Africa has exponentially increased in recent times, but the information is rarely
completely accurate and objective. Initiatives to fund global health projects has resulted in the
creation of genius advertising campaigns that appeal to the emotions and humanity of privileged
citizens in first world countries. This campaign has also led to grave misconceptions about the true
nature of the culture and lifestyle that Africans live. The first misconception being that every person
on the whole continent has the same religious beliefs, socioeconomic status, and environmental
surroundings. A satirical article named "How to Write about Africa" draws attention to the
exaggerated usage of the wild landscape, naked mothers, starving children, and white heroes who
come in and save all of the dying babies in Africa (Wainaina, 1992). Anthropologists refer to this
idea of portraying Africa in a certain light in media to elicit a desired public reaction as a "single
story." A majority of media articles in general only present a single story to appeal to their target
audience, but articles about Africa in particular are notorious for painting the picture of a poverty
stricken continent that needs to be saved and few people have enough knowledge about Africa to
contest the media they see everyday. A recent articled named, "Mothers and babies at risk in
Apostolic church birth camps, where modern healthcare seen as 'heathen'" is an example of a piece
of media that tells a

Adoption: The Controversial Issue Of Abortion
Many people believe that the life of a human being is precious and valuable. Abortion has been a
controversial decision among reasons for decades. There are three sub–reasons to abortion: sexual
education, pro–life, and fathers rights. If the female chooses to terminate the pregnancy. Do you
think someone who is not mentally or physically prepared to take care of another human being be
forced to do so? Sexual education teaches adolescents about the use of birth control, their bodies,
STD's, and pregnancy. Due to the awareness of sexual education, adolescents are more careful about
sexual intercourse. The pregnancy rate has reached the lowest in modern era between 1990–2010. It
declined to 51% pregnancies per 1000 females ages 14–19 to 57.4%. This is the lowest recorded
since 1973. Sexual education was not offered in schools until 1983 and many people had close to no
knowledge about the options. Even though teens today are aware of their options today, they do not
take proper precautions. People have different views on abortion. The people who ... Show more

A Critical Review Of A Journal Paper
A Critical Review of a Journal Paper
Introduction
Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that permanently affects an individual's ability to move such
as body movement, muscle control and contraction, this can be caused by a combination of
abnormal development or damage to parts of the brain that control movement, balance and posture.
(2) Cerebral palsy is the most common movement disorder in children and premature birth is one of
the many risk factors associated with the condition. This critical review examines an article that
links Magnesium sulfate in lowering the chances of diagnosing cerebral palsy in infants. (1) The
article, "A Randomized, Controlled Trial of Magnesium Sulfate for the Prevention of Cerebral
palsy" is written by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this being said the risk of stillbirth or infant death was slightly higher in the magnesium sulfate
group when compared to the placebo group. Cerebral palsy was diagnosed in 41 children from 40 of
942 pregnancies in the magnesium sulfate group and in 74 children from 73 of 1002 pregnancies in
the placebo group. The percentages of mild, moderate or severe cerebral palsy in the magnesium
sulfate group were 2.2%, 1.5%, and 0.5% respectively and 3.7%, 2.0% and 1.6% respectively in the
placebo group.
Critique
The study is relevant to researchers as cerebral palsy is the leading physical disability condition in
childhood and globally approximately 17 million people are suffering from the condition. (2)
Researchers believe that fetal exposure to magnesium sulfate before preterm birth can reduce the
risk of cerebral palsy, if so this can aid medical doctors in preventing the condition as evidence is
lacking for effective interventions targeted toward participation, environment, or personal factors.
(1)
This study does not add anything new towards the condition of cerebral palsy, as the author knew
that by administrating magnesium sulfate to mothers will decrease the likelihood of cerebral palsy
being diagnosed within an infant that was born pre–maturely. This knowledge is known with
previous randomized, placebo–controlled trials of magnesium

Quotes On Life Quotes
It's amazing how we can all go through life differently, taking some very different paths, yet there
are some universal truths that help make the process easier and more rewarding on us. We often find
ourselves nodding our heads at some common life quotes that we can all see the truth in. That's
because no matter what path you choose in life, there are some very real ways to approach it that
have been proven to be of value over and over again. Following are some life quotes from people
who have learned a thing or two from their existence that should have you nodding your head in
agreement. 1. What Is The Real Work Of Your Life? "The real work of your life is the continual

Thompson Often in life we think we have two choices – this way or that way. But, life doesn't
always boil down to those two choices if you choose to change your life. Changing your life is about
changing your beliefs and intentions in life, and then seeing what else is available to you. For
instance, young people are often faced with the choice of going to college or getting a job.
Travelling, starting their own business, volunteering, joining a monastery, joining a band, or a
number of other things are choices that are out there, just not for life as they know it. However, if
they break out of their mindset and see these choices as viable, then a whole new world of choices
opens up to them. Life is not black or white. There are many different paths in life, and just because
you only see a sign with two choices on which way to go next, doesn't mean that there isn't another
path with different signs that you can jump on. You just have to find it first. 9. Live In Reality "If
you live a life of make–believe, your life isn't worth anything until you do something that does

demand, or in other words by leading capacity, on account of the fact that the opening of the new
11–store hospital building will increase yearly birthing capacity to 16,000, which is far above the
estimated 13,600 births expected during 2007, as shown by Table S7.3. Furthermore, the fact that
the hospital and Swanson in particular is choosing to follow a multi–stage approach in terms of the

That is to say, the population in the area may for example be aging and thus birth rates may fall, etc.
Also, they need to look at the economic situation in the area as well. By that I mean looking at
whether young couples/families are continuing to move into the area? Are there enough job
opportunities in the area that will fuel growth of this demographic group? All this may affect
population growth and subsequently birth rates. 3. Using Excel's data analysis regression tool, the
follow data was found by plugging in the years (coded from 1 through 13) in column A and the
number of births in column B and then substituting column A for input X range and column B for
input Y range:

The Importance Of Purpose In Life
In order to answer the question "how to find your path in life", first of all I'd like to clarify that
finding your path in life is different AND MORE IMPORTANT than finding your purpose in life...
When people talk or explore finding their purpose in life a lot of them have ideas on their purpose,
but they don't know where to start. Or a lot of other people make passion lists, do's and dont's list
but they still are not able to find their purpose. Or people question themselves "is this what I am
supposed to be doing"?
And then once you want to take action to find your purpose in life, another big challenge that most
people have when making changes in life is "fear". For example "fear" of making the wrong choice,
fear of not being good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which group do you belong to?
Here are 12 strategies that can help you answer the question "how to find your path in life"
1. There is always uncertainty... so learn to be comfortable with it. There is no right or wrong choice,
there is only a choice... so make the choice you believe will lead you to your life path. How? Use
your intuition and gut feeling.
2. Patience, you can NOT speed up your finding your path and your purpose in life... you can only
cultivate your purpose which is like you give water to a flower. So focus on your path and overtime
your purpose will reveal itself. TIP: use your Monk Intuition when you make decisions
3. Combine your passions, one of my friends is 7 times Canadian Kayaking Champion, Executive
Coach, Speaking Coach and developed a painting technique as an artist called "Painting Without a
Brush"... she doesn't chose one purpose, she's simply on her path in life and her purposes will evolve
overtime
4. Connect the dots on your life journey to see your path more clearly

Essay about Birth Order
Birth Order
Does being the eldest child make people highly intellectual, people pleasing, perfectionists? Are the
middle children always impatiently competing for parental attention by rebelling against the rules?
Are all last–born children the spoiled, selfish, favorites? Birth order, a highly controversial topic, is
defined as the dynamics of an individual's place in the family compared to that of their siblings.
Birth order has been in a fiery discussion for over one hundred years; some say it's the very
foundation of each one of our personalities, while others claim that the margin of error is just too
wide for these coincidental patterns to bear any meaning.
Alfred Alder, the first to study birth order and the family dynamics that ... Show more content on

Another famous, or infamous, characteristic eldest tend to portray is that of selfishness (Murphy).
Born into a life of privilege and not having to share a single thing gives them their first dose of the
selfish trait. They are the receivers of the "first time parent" pampering love, and they are the first to
experience the confusion that accompanies the birth of a younger sibling. They are not used to
having to share everything; therefore they act as if they are the Alfa–male to the new arrival, which
also explains the previously stated dominant trait that domino effects them into the role of the
mentor.
One thing is for sure about eldest children: They are nothing like middle born children. Middle
children are dubbed as the outgoing, friendly, and loud sibling. All too often do they get lost in the
madness of the family dynamics and, in turn, develop a competitive nature. They are eager for their
parents' approval and praise, but feel as if their older sibling received too much credit and their
younger sibling receives too little discipline compared to them (Neal). "They are both teacher and
student, babysitter and babysat, too young for the privileges of the firstborn but too old for the
latitude given the last" (Kluger).
Much could be said about the last born children because they seem to always fit the molded
stereotype of themselves. Their characteristics can be picked up on in a matter of minutes in a
conversation; there

  • 8. Why Do People Love And Hate Chinese Food? How are you different from every other human being on this planet? While it is true that we 're all here sharing the experience of being human, and that gives us commonality, we are each totally unique beings having our own unique experience of life. Think about it. You can see this truth in the simplest of things. Some people love the beach while others love the mountains. Some people love Chinese food, while others hate it. Some people love modern art; others hate it. Some people like trucks while others prefer sports cars. We are all having our own unique experience in life – leading to things we like and don 't like, that we think are good or bad – sourced out of the totally unique entity we each are. How is it that you determine what 's true for you? Have you ever thought about that? Why do you prefer the beach or the mountains? Why do you love or hate Chinese food? Why do you love or hate modern art? Why do you prefer trucks or sports cars? Or why do you not care for any of these things at all? How do you know these things? Where does that knowledge come from? One of the most powerful stories I was ever told, and one which helped me embrace my unique truth and experience in life, I call "The Analogy of The Tongue." I know that may sound a little gross, but it is memorable. Years ago a good friend of mine saw that I was struggling to really embrace who I was as a minister, an evolutionary advocate, and a spiritual conduit. I didn 't really know what was evolving ... What I learned was that GE has a public image problem more than a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) problem. An ordinary teen, she fiddled about with the app, sharing her various feelings and playing with social ideas, but additionally discovering several hidden talents. Among those buried treasures, Ruth encountered a genuine love for music and song, far stronger and more apparent than in the past. A brief six seconds of improvised lyric about Peter Pan and his band of Lost Boys positively turned Ruth's life upside down; the world called, waiting and begging for a second line. The support from fans lead to Ruth writing her first song. From one song branched another until the release of an album, appropriately titled The Intro, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Toguri and her three siblings were raised in a predominantly white neighborhood in Compton, California, where their father disapproved of them learning the Japanese language so they could better fit into American society. Toguri eventually went on to attend Compton Junior College after finishing high school and then transferred to University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated in 1941 with a zoology degree (Iva 1; Tokyo 1). While working there, Toguri befriended Felipe D'Aquino, a colleague and Portuguese national, and Major Charles Cousens, a former Australian radio host who was now forced to broadcast on the propagandist radio show "Zero Hour" (Tokyo 2). Radio Tokyo wanted a female's voice for this show and since Toguri spoke English, she was the perfect match (Lerner 163). In November 1943, she joined the radio program under the name "Orphan Ann" playing songs and speaking to the soldiers for twenty minutes out of each day (Tokyo 2). In 1945, Toguri married D'Aquino and, later that year, the war finally ended (Iva 1; Tokyo 2). During the course of the war, Radio Tokyo employed over twenty women to broadcast programs to the foreign troops (Lerner 163; Iva 1). A myth began to be dispersed and soon the women were all called "Tokyo Rose" as a whole (Tokyo 3). The reporters of that time were obsessed with finding the biggest story, locating and interviewing the notorious "Tokyo Rose" (Lerner 163). To accomplish their goal, they rewarded anyone who could supply information on the whereabouts of her. A Radio Tokyo employee, Kenkichi Oki, labeled Toguri as "Tokyo Rose" (Iva 1; Lerner 164). As a result, the reporters pursued Toguri and paid her two thousand dollars for her admission to being "Tokyo Rose" and for a private interview (Tokyo 3). • 23. Birth Control On Culture And Society Birth control is a huge issue in our social world. Through the many perspectives birth control can connect individuals with society. There is a whole culture set around birth control, the media affects an individual's thoughts, and conflict theory can also affect people's views on contraception. Culture and society have many factors from a social perspective. They consist of objectives, beliefs, behaviors, and any other common traits between a group of people. Of course, culture is not fixed. People are free to choose and change their minds as time passes by. American culture from today is vastly different from 100 years ago. Some of the changes are due to the advancement of technology and new inventions. Birth control is one invention to have an effect on culture. Many people condemn the usage of any form of birth control. Birth control includes hormonal methods, barrier methods, and natural methods. A symbol of maturity can be seen in these methods of contraception. For example, for a teenager boy to receive a condom (barrier method) from his father before going on a date symbolizes the boy ending his childhood and entering adulthood. Also, the condom to the boy symbolizes the trust the father has given to his son. The father believes that his son will be responsible and fully trusts in him to make the right decision. Another way contraception can be a symbol is when a girl decides to use birth control pills. The usage of these pills symbolizes her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Health Issues Of Health Of Women And Infants Essay "When a child is born the mother is also born again," as rightfully quoted by Gilbert Parker. Childbirth is one of the greatest privileges on the earth anyone could have and we, as women, should feel proud to be major contributors for it. A mother plays a key role in aiding healthcare workers to mitigate the health crisis associated with childbirth by performing her duties faithfully. One such associated health crisis is "Premature (preterm) birth" which occurs when the baby is born too early, before 37 weeks of gestational period(CDC,2015). It is an important public health priority in terms of health of women and infants. Extent of this public health problem: Every year an estimated 15 million pretaerm babies are born and this number is still rising.(WHO,2015).In 2014, 1 of every 10 babies born in United States were premature and black infants were 50% more likely to be born premature than white, Hispanic and Asian/Pacific islander infants(CDC,2015). Almost 1 million children die each year due to complications of premature birth(WHO,2015). A major challenge in decreasing the rate of preterm birth is lack of knowledge about the etiologies and effective strategies for prevention. In order to create awareness and mollify premature birth, a community based outreach program based on Transtheoretical Model is proposed to strategically prevent premature birth among high risk population of African American women. • 27. Analysis Of The Opening And Operations Of The New Library On the other hand, student, Brad Kramer wrote that he was "utterly overjoyed" at the opening and operations of the new library (Fetter, 1984, 8). Randy Fussell Everett, responded to comments like this in order for undergraduate students to receive fair treatment and for the Davis Library to continue as a resource available to all students (Everett, 1984, 8). Everett argued on behalf of UNC's undergraduate population by pointing out that Richards was once an undergraduate herself, as well as the fact that all students on campus have research that needed to be done. Everett was not the only student upset by Richard's article, a group of students also wrote an article stating, "Dear Mary Margaret, Who the hell made you God?" and pointed out that blaming undergraduates for all of the library's problems was ridiculous (Prince, Keith, Turner, McCracken, & Dorm, 1984, 8). Concerns pertaining to the Davis library were not without reason (Trotter, 1984, 1). The number of people using the library was counted for in the Wilson Library during its last week of operation, totaling 20,681 students, tallied as the number of students that left the library. In Davis Library's first week, a 41,966 students were counted leaving the library, more than doubling the number of students. This problem was further pressed in the weeks approaching exams. • 29. The Theory Of The Birth Territory Theory Essay The theory I selected to apply to the above situation is the Birth Territory theory. This theory was created from empirical data collected by the authors who serve as both midwives and researchers. It has a critical post–structural feminist undertone and elaborates on the ideas of Michel Foucault. The Birth Territory theory predicts and elaborates on the relationships between jurisdiction (use of authority and influence), terrain (the birthing environment), and personal emotional and physiological experience by the mother. This nurse–midwifery theory was chosen because both of the major concepts directly correlate with the incident and are critical aspects of labor and delivery situations. MAYBE ELABORATE A diagram of the Birth Territory theory can be seen in Appendix A. Key concepts included in this theory are terrain and jurisdiction. Sub–concepts listed under terrain include ' 'surveillance room' and sanctum'. Sub–concepts listed under jurisdiction include 'midwifery guardianship', 'integrative power', 'midwifery domination', and 'disintegrative power'. 'Terrain' signifies the aspects of the birth environment. These include physical and geographical features such as the birthing furniture, as labor and birthing accessories, and personal support systems (birthing partner). 'Terrain' includes two sub–concepts: 'sanctum' and 'surveillance room'. A 'sanctum' is a homely birthing environment optimally designed to promote a private, healthy labor and birth. • 31. Media Coverage Of Afric The True Nature Of The Culture And... Media coverage of Africa has exponentially increased in recent times, but the information is rarely completely accurate and objective. Initiatives to fund global health projects has resulted in the creation of genius advertising campaigns that appeal to the emotions and humanity of privileged citizens in first world countries. This campaign has also led to grave misconceptions about the true nature of the culture and lifestyle that Africans live. The first misconception being that every person on the whole continent has the same religious beliefs, socioeconomic status, and environmental surroundings. A satirical article named "How to Write about Africa" draws attention to the exaggerated usage of the wild landscape, naked mothers, starving children, and white heroes who come in and save all of the dying babies in Africa (Wainaina, 1992). Anthropologists refer to this idea of portraying Africa in a certain light in media to elicit a desired public reaction as a "single story." A majority of media articles in general only present a single story to appeal to their target audience, but articles about Africa in particular are notorious for painting the picture of a poverty stricken continent that needs to be saved and few people have enough knowledge about Africa to contest the media they see everyday. A recent articled named, "Mothers and babies at risk in Apostolic church birth camps, where modern healthcare seen as 'heathen'" is an example of a piece of media that tells a ... • 32. Adoption: The Controversial Issue Of Abortion Many people believe that the life of a human being is precious and valuable. Abortion has been a controversial decision among reasons for decades. There are three sub–reasons to abortion: sexual education, pro–life, and fathers rights. If the female chooses to terminate the pregnancy. Do you think someone who is not mentally or physically prepared to take care of another human being be forced to do so? Sexual education teaches adolescents about the use of birth control, their bodies, STD's, and pregnancy. Due to the awareness of sexual education, adolescents are more careful about sexual intercourse. The pregnancy rate has reached the lowest in modern era between 1990–2010. It declined to 51% pregnancies per 1000 females ages 14–19 to 57.4%. This is the lowest recorded since 1973. With this being said the risk of stillbirth or infant death was slightly higher in the magnesium sulfate group when compared to the placebo group. Cerebral palsy was diagnosed in 41 children from 40 of 942 pregnancies in the magnesium sulfate group and in 74 children from 73 of 1002 pregnancies in the placebo group. The percentages of mild, moderate or severe cerebral palsy in the magnesium sulfate group were 2.2%, 1.5%, and 0.5% respectively and 3.7%, 2.0% and 1.6% respectively in the placebo group. Critique The study is relevant to researchers as cerebral palsy is the leading physical disability condition in childhood and globally approximately 17 million people are suffering from the condition. (2) Researchers believe that fetal exposure to magnesium sulfate before preterm birth can reduce the risk of cerebral palsy, if so this can aid medical doctors in preventing the condition as evidence is lacking for effective interventions targeted toward participation, environment, or personal factors. (1) This study does not add anything new towards the condition of cerebral palsy, as the author knew that by administrating magnesium sulfate to mothers will decrease the likelihood of cerebral palsy being diagnosed within an infant that was born pre–maturely. This knowledge is known with previous randomized, placebo–controlled trials of magnesium ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thompson Often in life we think we have two choices – this way or that way. But, life doesn't always boil down to those two choices if you choose to change your life. Changing your life is about changing your beliefs and intentions in life, and then seeing what else is available to you. For instance, young people are often faced with the choice of going to college or getting a job. Travelling, starting their own business, volunteering, joining a monastery, joining a band, or a number of other things are choices that are out there, just not for life as they know it. However, if they break out of their mindset and see these choices as viable, then a whole new world of choices opens up to them. Life is not black or white. There are many different paths in life, and just because you only see a sign with two choices on which way to go next, doesn't mean that there isn't another path with different signs that you can jump on. You just have to find it first. 9. Live In Reality "If you live a life of make–believe, your life isn't worth anything until you do something that does challenge your reality." – Morgan ... The case study indicates that the approach to match capacity to demand utilized by Arnold Palmer Hospital must be approach (a), leading demand with an incremental expansion. The reason for this is that it is evident that Arnold Palmer Hospital is attempting to acquire capacity to stay ahead of demand, or in other words by leading capacity, on account of the fact that the opening of the new 11–store hospital building will increase yearly birthing capacity to 16,000, which is far above the estimated 13,600 births expected during 2007, as shown by Table S7.3. • 40. Essay about Birth Order Birth Order Does being the eldest child make people highly intellectual, people pleasing, perfectionists? Are the middle children always impatiently competing for parental attention by rebelling against the rules? Are all last–born children the spoiled, selfish, favorites? Birth order, a highly controversial topic, is defined as the dynamics of an individual's place in the family compared to that of their siblings. Birth order has been in a fiery discussion for over one hundred years; some say it's the very foundation of each one of our personalities, while others claim that the margin of error is just too wide for these coincidental patterns to bear any meaning. Alfred Alder, the first to study birth order and the family dynamics that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another famous, or infamous, characteristic eldest tend to portray is that of selfishness (Murphy). Born into a life of privilege and not having to share a single thing gives them their first dose of the selfish trait. They are the receivers of the "first time parent" pampering love, and they are the first to experience the confusion that accompanies the birth of a younger sibling. They are not used to having to share everything; therefore they act as if they are the Alfa–male to the new arrival, which also explains the previously stated dominant trait that domino effects them into the role of the mentor. One thing is for sure about eldest children: They are nothing like middle born children. Middle children are dubbed as the outgoing, friendly, and loud sibling. All too often do they get lost in the madness of the family dynamics and, in turn, develop a competitive nature. They are eager for their parents' approval and praise, but feel as if their older sibling received too much credit and their younger sibling receives too little discipline compared to them (Neal). "They are both teacher and student, babysitter and babysat, too young for the privileges of the firstborn but too old for the latitude given the last" (Kluger). Much could be said about the last born children because they seem to always fit the molded stereotype of themselves. Their characteristics can be picked up on in a matter of minutes in a conversation; there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
