Deputy G4 (Logistics) Georgia Army National Guard Marietta, GA
(1)Serves as the alter ego to the Logistics Management Officer,G-4, fully sharing
all phases of the organization’s program whichincludes serving as Deputy to the
DCSLOG/G4 and principle advisor to The Adjutant General (TAG), the JFHQ
senior staff and the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Army Directorate on all
matters of logistics functions within the JFHQ. Develops policies, prepares
budgets, and prioritizes logistics requirements to meet mission goals and
objectives. Serves as member of the state’s Program Budget Activity Committee
(PBAC), maximizing readiness through analysis of requirements. Plans,
programs, coordinate, and directs the activitiesof logistics functions that include
supply, services, maintenance and transportation. Ensures resource
requirements are identified, documented and defended to requirements
established by the Chief, Army LogisticsDivision of the NGBArmy Directorate. As
a senior logistics manager within the State, operates in both a line and staff
relationship both within the JFHQ and with a broad spectrum of logistics
operations statewide.
(2) Administers the Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP) efforts to
subordinate units for supply, services, property accountability, inventory
management, equipment management (equipment authorization, acquisition,
utilization, maintenance, replacement and disposition) and transportation;
develops and implements business improvements by establishing long range and
short range plans forthe developmentand improvement of alllogistics programs,
ensuring that plans meet mission requirements and incorporate latest
technological advances. Evaluates programs effectiveness through review of
reports, personal observation, inspections, and other means and takes corrective
action when appropriate. Sets priorities and deadlines for special projects and
coordinates plans with other States/Territories (where applicable) as well as
with subordinate supervisors.
(3) Oversees and monitors planning and implementation of comprehensive
logistics programs forsustainment of highly complex, fielded, or planned fielding
of new systems, equipment, or major weapons systems. Coordinates fielding
schedules in order to identify logistics requirements. Coordinates total package
fielding within the JFHQ with Program Managers, the USPFO, with major
commodity commands such as Tank Armament and Automotive Command,
Department of the Army Program Managers and other representatives as
appropriate. Participates in complex logistics support issues with leadership,
USPFO, private firms, and contracting personnel as applicable. Identifies
personnel and equipment requirements for new equipment training; schedules
events to assure personnel and equipment are available for training.
(4) Responsible for logistical mobilization and readiness planning in support of
plans for deployment and redeployment of assigned units, Homeland Defense,
Emergency Management, major training exercises, and traditional Army National
Guard Operations. Identifies key issues and problems in the development of
logistical plans and initiates and monitors implementation of significant
corrective actions.

work,assigns special projects, analyzes workrequirements and determines staff,
equipment and other resources needed to accomplish the work. Makes changes
in workmethods, organization of workorassignment of functionsto subordinate
units or positions to improve work flow and services rendered, increase
productivity, reduce costs, or promote job satisfaction. Resolves problems that
could not be resolved by subordinate supervisors. Prepares performance
appraisals of subordinate supervisors, reviews and approves/disapproves
evaluations prepared by them for their subordinates. Exercises personnel
management authority to take final action with regards to hiring, promoting,
rewarding, disciplining, and training subordinate supervisors and approving
personnel management recommendations of supervisors. Takes positive actions

Surface Maintenance Manager , Georgia Army National Guard
Marietta/Atlanta, GA
Director of Surface Maintenance for Georgia Army National Guard, which
encompassed over300 employees and 15 Maintenance facilities withinthe State.
Directly supervised 5 Managers and an officestaff.Workdirectly forthe Director
of Logistics, and represent him functioning as Deputy as required. Performother
duties related to overall Logistics Management within the state, coordinating
withMajor Subordinate Commands, scheduling conferences,meetings, and other
requirements based on Homeland Defense, GWOT, and normal business
practices. Have several years’ related experience in Logistics Resource
management and fiscal forecasting, planning, and executing of overall multi-
million dollar Logistics and Maintenance budgets. Coordinate, manage, assist and
direct site locations for equipment fielding’s, modification work orders (MWO),
and advise higher echelon of overall effects on equipment and Unit readiness.
This includes not only deploying units but Homeland defense first responders.

Served as Logistical management Officerwithin the G-4 Logistics directorate for
GAARNG. Supervised 13 employees that included Budget, Supplies and Services,
Plans and Policy,Transportation and System support. Overallmanager for multi-
million dollar Logistical budget with over 15 accounts. Forecasted, planned, and
assisted in the execution of yearly budgets for Supply and Services, Maintenance,
Transportation and Food service programs. Coordinated on a daily basis with
subordinate Commands for logistical resources as it applied to full time,
traditional, and activeduty National Guard operations. Coordinated withmilitary
installations forInner service Support Agreements, Interdepartmental Purchase
Agreements, and Installation support forGeorgia Guard units. Served as logistical
resource conduit forentire Logistical community within the Georgia Army Guard
in this regard as well as assisting in logistical resources required by units for the
Global War on Terrorism. NOTE:the DeputyG-4positiondescribedabovewasnot
in place during this time. Many of the duties overlap.
