Uses of Resteclin Capsules
© Clearsky Pharmacy
Resteclin (Tetracycline Hydrochloride Capsules)
is used to treat a wide variety of infections,
including acne, Upper respiratory tract
infections, Lower respiratory tract infections,
Skin and soft tissue infections, Infections caused
by rickettsia and several other indications. It is
an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of
bacteria.
This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It
will not work for viral infections (such as
common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is
not needed can cause it to not work for future
infections.
Storage Instructions
© Clearsky Pharmacy
Resteclin (Tetracycline Hydrochloride
Capsules) have to be stored at
controlled room temperature i.e. from
20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) with
excursions permitted between 15° to
30°C (59° to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines
away from children and pets.
Warnings
© Clearsky Pharmacy
The use of medicines of the Tetracycline-class during
tooth development (last half of pregnancy, infancy and
childhood to the age of 8 years) may cause permanent
discoloration of the teeth (yellow-gray-brown).
Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea (CDAD) has
been reported with use of nearly all antibacterial agents,
including Tetracyclines, and may range in severity from
mild diarrhea to fatal colitis.
Photosensitivity manifested by an exaggerated sunburn
reaction has been observed in some patients taking
Tetracyclines. Advise patients apt to be exposed to
direct sunlight or ultraviolet lights that this reaction can
occur with Tetracycline medicines. Discontinue
treatment at the first evidence of skin erythema.
Warnings
© Clearsky Pharmacy
Intracranial hypertension (IH, pseudotumor cerebri) has
been associated with the use of tetracyclines including
Resteclin (Tetracycline Hydrochloride capsules). Clinical
manifestations of IH include headache, blurred vision,
diplopia, and vision loss; papilledema can be found on
fundoscopy.
All tetracyclines form a stable calcium complex in any bone
forming tissue. A decrease in fibula growth rate has been
observed in premature infants given oral Tetracycline in
doses of 25 mg/kg every six hours.
The antianabolic action of the tetracyclines could cause an
increase in BUN. While this is not a problem in those with
normal renal function, in patients with significantly impaired
renal function, higher serum levels of Tetracycline may lead
to azotemia, hyperphosphatemia and acidosis.
Warnings
© Clearsky Pharmacy
In long-term therapy, perform periodic
laboratory evaluation of organ systems,
including hematopoietic, renal and hepatic
studies. In case renal impairment exists,
even usual oral doses may lead to
excessive systemic accumulation of the
medication and possible liver toxicity.
Under such conditions, lower than usual total
doses are indicated, and, if therapy is
prolonged, serum level determinations of the
drug may be advisable.
Resteclin Capsules Dosage

toxic effects on foetal tissues, particularly on
skeletal development.
If this medicine is used during pregnancy, or if
the patient becomes pregnant while taking

  • 7. Uses of Resteclin Capsules © Clearsky Pharmacy Resteclin (Tetracycline Hydrochloride Capsules) is used to treat a wide variety of infections, including acne, Upper respiratory tract infections, Lower respiratory tract infections, Skin and soft tissue infections, Infections caused by rickettsia and several other indications. It is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
  • 8. Storage Instructions © Clearsky Pharmacy Resteclin (Tetracycline Hydrochloride Capsules) have to be stored at controlled room temperature i.e. from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) with excursions permitted between 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F). Keep this as well as all other medicines away from children and pets.
  • 9. Warnings © Clearsky Pharmacy The use of medicines of the Tetracycline-class during tooth development (last half of pregnancy, infancy and childhood to the age of 8 years) may cause permanent discoloration of the teeth (yellow-gray-brown). Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea (CDAD) has been reported with use of nearly all antibacterial agents, including Tetracyclines, and may range in severity from mild diarrhea to fatal colitis. Photosensitivity manifested by an exaggerated sunburn reaction has been observed in some patients taking Tetracyclines. Advise patients apt to be exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet lights that this reaction can occur with Tetracycline medicines. Discontinue treatment at the first evidence of skin erythema.
  • 10. Warnings © Clearsky Pharmacy Intracranial hypertension (IH, pseudotumor cerebri) has been associated with the use of tetracyclines including Resteclin (Tetracycline Hydrochloride capsules). Clinical manifestations of IH include headache, blurred vision, diplopia, and vision loss; papilledema can be found on fundoscopy. All tetracyclines form a stable calcium complex in any bone forming tissue. A decrease in fibula growth rate has been observed in premature infants given oral Tetracycline in doses of 25 mg/kg every six hours. The antianabolic action of the tetracyclines could cause an increase in BUN. While this is not a problem in those with normal renal function, in patients with significantly impaired renal function, higher serum levels of Tetracycline may lead to azotemia, hyperphosphatemia and acidosis.
  • 11. Warnings © Clearsky Pharmacy In long-term therapy, perform periodic laboratory evaluation of organ systems, including hematopoietic, renal and hepatic studies. In case renal impairment exists, even usual oral doses may lead to excessive systemic accumulation of the medication and possible liver toxicity. Under such conditions, lower than usual total doses are indicated, and, if therapy is prolonged, serum level determinations of the drug may be advisable.
  • 12. Resteclin Capsules Dosage © Clearsky Pharmacy ➢Adults: Usual daily dose, 1 gram as 500 mg twice a day or 250 mg four times a day. Higher doses such as 500 mg four times a day may be required for severe infections or for those infections which do not respond to the smaller doses. ➢Administration of adequate amounts of fluid with the capsule formulation of Tetracycline is recommended to wash down the drug and reduce the risk of esophageal irritation and ulceration. If this medicine is used during pregnancy, or if the patient becomes pregnant while taking Resteclin, the patient should be appraised of the potential hazard to the foetus.
