This document discusses Response to Intervention (RTI), which is a multi-tiered approach used to identify and support students with learning and behavioral needs. RTI begins with high-quality classroom instruction and universal screening of all students. Students are closely monitored and provided with targeted or intensive interventions based on their response and achievement. The three tiers include quality classroom instruction for all students, small group interventions for struggling students, and individualized intensive interventions and evaluation for students not responding to earlier tiers. The goal of RTI is to create an integrated system of instruction and intervention informed by student data.
