Sub Genre
We have decided to create a
 psychological thriller because we
 believe that this is most likely to
 produce the most successful film and
 we think we can produce a good film of
 this genre.
Plot for the film and why
We have decided that our film will
include as its main feature, a
reoccurring figure of a hooded person
who terrorises individuals when they
are alone by making them paranoid
enough to cause a mental breakdown
and eventually suicide. We have
decided on this because it is a cold
narrative and quite disturbing which is
effective if we want to meet the
conventions of the genre.
How will this appeal to the
           audience?
We believe our narrative will appeal to
our target audience because it meets
many conventions of the genre and it is
very original. Also, it will excite and
enthrall the audience because they will
be gripped due to it playing with their
mind.
When does the narrative begin?
Our narrative will begin when our main
protagonist looks out the window and
sees the figure. This is because we
want to grip the attention of the viewer
very easy and get them straight into
the storyline instead of watching lots
of needless sub-plots waiting for the
narrative to begin.
How will your product introduce
           everything?
The narrative will be introduced early
 on when our character sees the figure.
 The characters are automatically
 introduced when the narrative is
 because the opening scenes show all
 the characters and it starts in the main
 location. We have done this so the film
 doesn’t take a while to set the scene
 and so it can get straight into the main
 plot.
Representations
Our production will represent fear and
confusion above all. These feelings will
be shown from the character by close-
ups and facial expression as well as his
frantic nature. The antagonist will be
shown as mysterious through his dark
attire and lack of speech. We will also
not show his face to make the viewer
wonder what he is.
Mood & Tone
At the start of the opening sequence it
will feel normal as the character works
around the house. However when the
antagonist is introduced it will be very
eerie and tense. This will be presented
through the sudden drop in lighting
and change in sound. The atmosphere
this creates should create fear and
make the audience sympathise with
the character.
How will it grab the audience’s
            attention?
The mystery in the narrative which is created
through camerawork and mise-en-scene
should grab the audience’s attention. This is
because it will make the narrative interesting
and the viewer shouldn’t get bored watching
it because they’re wondering what is
happening. Confusion is a big theme in the
film and this will hopefully interest the
audience.

  • 2. Sub Genre We have decided to create a psychological thriller because we believe that this is most likely to produce the most successful film and we think we can produce a good film of this genre.
  • 3. Plot for the film and why We have decided that our film will include as its main feature, a reoccurring figure of a hooded person who terrorises individuals when they are alone by making them paranoid enough to cause a mental breakdown and eventually suicide. We have decided on this because it is a cold narrative and quite disturbing which is effective if we want to meet the conventions of the genre.
  • 4. How will this appeal to the audience? We believe our narrative will appeal to our target audience because it meets many conventions of the genre and it is very original. Also, it will excite and enthrall the audience because they will be gripped due to it playing with their mind.
  • 5. When does the narrative begin? Our narrative will begin when our main protagonist looks out the window and sees the figure. This is because we want to grip the attention of the viewer very easy and get them straight into the storyline instead of watching lots of needless sub-plots waiting for the narrative to begin.
  • 6. How will your product introduce everything? The narrative will be introduced early on when our character sees the figure. The characters are automatically introduced when the narrative is because the opening scenes show all the characters and it starts in the main location. We have done this so the film doesn’t take a while to set the scene and so it can get straight into the main plot.
  • 7. Representations Our production will represent fear and confusion above all. These feelings will be shown from the character by close- ups and facial expression as well as his frantic nature. The antagonist will be shown as mysterious through his dark attire and lack of speech. We will also not show his face to make the viewer wonder what he is.
  • 8. Mood & Tone At the start of the opening sequence it will feel normal as the character works around the house. However when the antagonist is introduced it will be very eerie and tense. This will be presented through the sudden drop in lighting and change in sound. The atmosphere this creates should create fear and make the audience sympathise with the character.
  • 9. How will it grab the audience’s attention? The mystery in the narrative which is created through camerawork and mise-en-scene should grab the audience’s attention. This is because it will make the narrative interesting and the viewer shouldn’t get bored watching it because they’re wondering what is happening. Confusion is a big theme in the film and this will hopefully interest the audience.
