2. RESEACH QUESTION
A research question is “ a question that a
research project sets out to answer ”. Choosing
a research question is an essential element of
both quantitative and qualitative research.
Investigation will require data collection and
analysis, and the methodology for this will
vary widely.
3. TYPES OF RESEARCH
Qualitative Research
- Qualitative research is more concerned with
understanding an event or phenomenon.
4. QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
Using measurable data answers a new set of
research questions. These types of quantitative
research questions prove or disprove a
researcher’s hypothesis through descriptions,
comparisons, and relationships.
6. 1.DESCRIPTIVE QUESTION
Descriptive questions
As the most basic type of quantitative research
question, descriptive question seek to explain
when, where, why, or how something occurred. They
use data and statistics to describe an event or
phenomenon.
Example#1: What Percentage Of College Students
Have Felt Depressed In The Last Year?
Example#2: How likely is it for mice with dominant
traits to have offspring with recessive traits?
8. 3.RELATION RESEACRH
QUESTION
Research question seek to explore and define
trends and interaction between two or more
variables. These question often include both
dependent and independent variables and use
world such as “association” or “trends”
9. 2 TYPES OF RESEARCH APPROACH
1.DIDUCTIVE APPROACH
deductive approach involves beginning with a theory,
developing hypothesis from that theory, and then
collecting and analyzing data to test those
hypothesis-
10. 2. INDUCTIVE AQPPROACH
- Inductive and deductive approaches to
research can be employed together for a
more complete understanding of the topic
that a researcher is studying.
