Stereotypical representations are commonly used in media to help audiences easily understand characters, such as portraying men as powerful and aggressive and women as weak and sexualized. These representations are visual shortcuts that become normalized through frequent repetition, even though they may not accurately portray people. Challenging these stereotypes with alternative representations can provide a fresh perspective.

 An example of representation in media is
between genders;
 Men are usually; possessive, aggressive and
powerful
 And woman are presented as; weak,
controlled, sexualised and vunrable

instantly understand them. They are a visual

 They are repeated so often so often we assume
they are normal or true.

found in many different texts, e.g; antagonist,
hero, metor.
