Remember The Titans Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "Remember The Titans" can be both challenging and rewarding.
On one hand, the subject matter is rich with themes related to racial integration, leadership, and
teamwork, offering ample material for analysis. However, this abundance of content can also
pose a challenge as it requires careful selection and organization to create a coherent and
compelling narrative.
To begin with, understanding the historical context and cultural nuances depicted in the movie is
crucial. Delving into the characters' backgrounds, motivations, and transformations throughout
the film adds layers to the analysis. Furthermore, exploring the directorial choices,
cinematography, and soundtrack can provide valuable insights into the storytelling techniques
employed.
The task becomes intricate when attempting to strike a balance between personal reflections and
objective analysis. It requires the writer to intertwine their interpretation of the movie with
evidence from the narrative, characters, and cinematic elements. Moreover, maintaining a
cohesive structure and logical flow while transitioning between different aspects of the essay
demands meticulous planning and execution.
Another challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and offering unique perspectives. Given the
popularity of "Remember The Titans," numerous essays have likely been written on the same
topic. Hence, the writer must strive to present fresh insights, perhaps by exploring less-discussed
elements or drawing connections to broader societal issues.
In conclusion, composing an essay on "Remember The Titans" demands a combination of
research, critical thinking, and creativity. Navigating through the complexities of the movie's
themes and characters while maintaining a distinctive voice can be arduous but ultimately
rewarding. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or different topics, various resources

Analyze the rationale and purpose of the exclusionary rule
The exclusionary rule is not in the Constitution because it was made by the court due
to the need that presented itself. The intension was to ensure that the 4th Amendment
is kept and not violated. Most people are aware of their right to privacy, and how it
protects them from unwarranted searches. Nevertheless, most them do not
comprehend how the Exclusionary Rule which ensures this right is guarded. The
Exclusionary Rule is intended to refrain the police from misconduct. The 4th
amendment right protects every citizen from illegal searches and arrests. When the
police violates this 4 amendment right, the evidence they have collected will be
avoided in the federal court.

Secondly, Inevitable Discovery Doctrine. With this exception, two modes of seizing
evidence are considered but only one is physical. Illegal means are used in the
securing of the evidence physically. The other seizure of evidence is hypothetical
and is seized illegally.
Good Faith is the last exception. In this case, the magistrate issues a seizure warrant
for acquiring evidence. However, this may not be in sync with the role of the
exclusionary rule in deterring the police from any misconduct and also the evidence
suppression may not occur. The limitation of this exception is that, if the defense can
convince the judge that the officer was reckless in seizing the evidence, then the good
faith will be nullified.
Cost and benefits of the exclusionary rule
There is a public and governmental cost that is imposed by the exclusionary rule
on the public when it frees the guilty and sidetracks the court on its mandate to
obtain the truth. The fabric of the law is also tainted. There are professional costs
also incurred by individuals within the system of criminal justice. The rigidity of
the law causes the concerned parties like the police, magistrates and lawyers to
allow double standards in order to proceed with a case. In an effort to conclude a
case, they ignore certain violations of this draconian rule so as to allow the use of
evidence. When the exclusionary rule is upheld, there administrative costs imposed
on the government
The Middle Period And The Fall Of The Medieval Period
The Medieval Period lasted from 400 1500 AD and began with the fall of the
Western Roman Empire. The fall and the beginning of this era had massive
changes to the social and economic systems of that time. These changes began to
occur because of the start of feudalism in both Europe and Asia during this time in
hope to protect themselves from barbarians. At that time, the feudal system was
the law of the land, and the way that the upper class maintained control over the
lower class. To maintain this order the upper class provided protection to the lower
class and in exchange, the lower class worked for the upper class. This was true in
both Asia and Europe as they both had a social class system to make sure
everything isn t going to chaos. Yet, these ideals weren t passed on between one
another, more that each area adapted to that type of government based on the
circumstances. Even in this time where there was uncivilized and odd people
rampaging about, there was people whom had done great achievements. These
people allowed their nations to advance whether it was by fighting and conquering
land, preaching of their religion, or by creating marvelous inventions. They did
amazing and remarkable things to not only advance their nation but as well affect
them long after their deaths. Making sure that their legacies were never forgotten or
left behind at all. To express and prove it let s evaluate the extent to which the
expertise and the achievements of Toyotomi Hideyoshiwith
Hialeah Gardens Police Department Case Study
The Hialeah Gardens Police Department was established in 1948. Since then the
organizational chart has changed drastically. With budget issues, staff shortages and
a growing city, the organizational chart and department will continue to change. As
of now the City of Hialeah Gardens Police Department currently has 38 sworn
personnel, 4 public service aids, 6 dispatchers and 6 support staff members for a
city the populates nearly 22, 257 residents. The above staff is bonded by an unbroken
line of authority extending from the Chief of Police through each level of command
to an individual employee of the Hialeah Gardens Police Department. The current
organization chart begins with the Chief of Police being the head executive officer in

The span of control will be better monitored and more accountability. The Patrol
Lieutenant will supervise the Patrol Sergeants and Specialized unit Sergeants. The
GIU Lieutenant will supervise the GIU Sergeant, as well as administrative Sergeant.
The administrative Sergeant will supervise all support services employees to list a
few, Records, Property, and Communications. The strength of my organizational chart
is more accountability. Each position will oversee and supervise an important aspect
of the day to day operations. The span of control will be proper and the duties will be
evenly split amongst the command staff and first line staff. The chain of command
has its checks and balances and each position responds to a supervisor. The weakness
of the current organizational chart is that the Patrol Lieutenant basically oversees the
entire department and responds to the Captain. There are not much accountability and
lacks standards.
Essay Cja 304 Week 1 Assignment
Effective Communication Pamela Clark CJS 304 April 30, 2012 Dr. Stephen A.
Morreale Communication is a two way process that takes practice and time to be
fully effective and is very important in every aspect our personal and professional
lives. We communicate every day of our lives both verbally or nonverbally. The
process of verbal communication is the exchanging information by transmitting an
idea, send that idea, receive feedback, understand the idea and the feedback and
provide feedback to the person who sent the message. The main components of
communication are context, encoder, message, medium, decoder, and feedback. The
context could be social, chronological, cultural, or physical. The individual sending

Formal communication is the channel that usually follows the chain of command.
This chain is often ran by formal orders, detectives, and written memorandums. In the
police organization these forms provide a sense of order and security. Using
excessive or exclusive communications however have certain disadvantages. One
disadvantage in strict adherence to formal channels can be both time and personnel
consuming. Memorandums must be drafter carefully ad must go through the chain of
command for endorsements and then must be forwarded to the correct personnel
according to departmental policy. Another disadvantage of formal channels is what
effect this can have on free flow of information. Using formal channels will require a
written record and many people hesitate to put their thoughts in writing because they
are intimidated, afraid of losing their job, etc., which restricts the flow of information.
However, using formal communications makes it possible for the officers to receive
new directives and information concerning crimes rather quickly. Formal
communication is less confusing and establishes a paper trail for legal purposes, if
the need arrives (Wallace amp; Roberson, 2009). Informal channels are the unofficial
route of communication within an agency. Informal communication has also been
labeled as gossip and should not be taken seriously until verified. Using informal
channels when time is critical actually can save time. Instead of going through the

The Ugly Americ Influence And Effects
The Ugly American: Influence and Effects
Diplomacy is the art of dealing with foreign countries in a sensitive and effective way.
The ability to influence the people contributes to effective American diplomacy. In,
The Ugly American, William J. Lederer and Eugene Burdick, comment on the nature
of American diplomacy in 1950s Southeast Asia. They identify the characteristics and
effects of both inept and skilled diplomacy. The book highlights knowledge of the
language, history, and culture as critical components to the ability to influence
indigenous populations. In many ways the situations and characters described in the
book, mirror the situations and challenges faced by Special Operations Forces (SOF)
today. The Special Operations Imperatives are a planning tool that SOF use to
influence the people and situations they encounter. In order to understand the
influence and effects of proper application of the Special Operations Imperatives the
stories of Homer Atkins, Colonel Hillandale and Solomon Asch provide a setting to
compare and contrast with my own experiences in Afghanistan, Iraq and Jordan.
Homer Atkins understood the needs of the Sarkhanese people. He identified small
scale, local options to address challenges affecting the day to day lives of the local
population. He used local materials and humbly sought out and accepted input from
the local population to ensure long term sustainment of a bicycle operated water
pump system. Homer Atkins treated the Sarkhanese with
The Pros And Cons Of The Cuban Embargo
The new era began, Barack Obama and RaГєl Castro announced that the United
States of America and Cuba will restore full diplomatic relations for the first time in
more than 50 years since severing ties in 1961. Barston 2006, defines diplomatic
relations as the art and practice of conducting negotiations between representatives of
states. It usually refers to international diplomacy, the conduct of international
relations through the intercession of professional diplomats with regard to issues of
peace making, trade, economics and culture (p. 1). One of the major areas it will
address is the lifting of the Cuban embargo. The embargo restricts trade, travel and
communication between the two states which hinders the economic development of

According to Scola (2014) It is estimated that only 5 percent of the Cuban population
has access to the open Internet . All Internet connections in Cuba are available
exclusively through Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S.A. (ETECSA).
Because wireless Internet service is not available to the general population, landline
Internet is the sole means of connecting people in Cuba to the Internet. The
combination of inadequate infrastructure and the government s deliberate policy
which controls access to the internet have produced an extremely slow service that is
not widely available throughout the population. With better diplomatic relations with
the United States the Cuban government can benefit greatly from
telecommunications mostly internet advancements which can positively affect the
economy in many ways. First, it can reduce the cost of production. Second, it can
increase revenues. Third, it can increase employment through both direct and indirect
effects and lastly it provides channels of communication to avert humanitarian
disasters and assist in reconstruction efforts. The United States help the Cuban
economy to develop the telecommunications by providing the country with many of
the technological infrastructures needed to become
Analysis Of Man In The Mirror
Man in the Mirror is about a man who believes that only by changing himself will
he be able to change the world. The main focus of the song is a man s struggle to
improve himself morally after witnessing his inability to impact the lives of those in
need. Michael Jackson reflects on how the world around him is suffering while he
lives a life of comfort, and the guilt triggers his decision to change himself so that he
can eventually help the world. . The song raises up questions such as, What purpose
does an individual serve in a community? How can we bring about positive changes
to the world? How can one person make a major impact in the world? Man in the
Mirror sends a very universal message, basically telling the world to improve
themselves individually so that the whole improves as a result. The discussion will
focus more on the symbolical lyrics because there is a lot of straightforward
vocabulary in each verse.
In the first verse, Michael uses a winter coat and cold weather to give an example of
the trying times that some people undergo. First he mentions the coat he wears to
protect himself from the chilly weather As I turned up the collar on my favourite
winter coat. Despite wearing the coat, Michael states that the wind still got to his
head This wind is blowin my mind. This personification of the wind is used to
illustrate how Michael escaped the physical affects of the cold but not the mental
effects. The reason why it affected him mentally is because of what follows, which
is the sight of kids in the street, with not enough to eat . Michael feels sorry for the
kids suffering in the street because he has the resources to survive and they don t.
He states that the coat is his favorite, meaning he has multiple coats. The difference
between him and the struggling children becomes even more apparent when the
audience realizes that Michael is rich and that he has probably never suffered like
the kids. He then questions himself saying: who am I, to be blind? In this case blind
is used as a metaphor to show how much neglect the kids have been receiving from
him as an individual. Although the kids are there struggling, Michael is probably too
caught up in his own world to acknowledge their
The Importance Of Public Diplomacy
Turkey has been a powerful country in its region because it is a Muslim country
ruling with democracy since 1923 is seen as an example for other Muslim countries
in the region. Public diplomacy functions as a tool to inform and educate the target
audience so that there can be favorable relationships with other countries (White and
Radic, 2014). Another function of public diplomacyis building dialog and creating
sympathy for the country itself. As a field, public diplomacy has no theoretical
perspective and strong background (Entman, 2008) which it could provide a
framework. Public diplomacy became popular in the years of the cold war
(Gilboa, 2008). The field nourishes from public relations, branding, systems theory,
communication, social sciences, social psychology, international relations,
political communication, cultural studies, psychology, media framing, diplomacy
studies (Gilboa, 2008; Gregory, 2008). This is because the field is new and some
scholars argue that public diplomacy is not an academic field. Gregory (2008)
argues public diplomacy can be treated as an academic field based on three
considerations: an achievable consensus on an analytical framework; a substantial
body of relevant scholarship and practical literature; and benefits for learning,
shared knowledge, and professional practice. (p.286). Public diplomacy is a
promising field and it is studied in some schools however for it be considered full
academic field, academicians need to contribute to
Nike Case Study
Nike s Social and Experiential Value Creation
Nike over the years has been the leader in athletic shoe designs and remains there
today. It is the reason that Nike is differentiated from its competitors and provides
experiential and social value for its customers. In fact, Nike has put so much
emphasis in design and marketing behind their shoe trends that Nike shoes are among
the most counterfeited product in a $461 billion market according to a report by
ABC news. (Add why that is important?)
For further analysis on Nike s design oriented focus, we will be looking at the product
line of Nike Jordan Shoes. The Air Jordan shoes are consumer focused shoes that
provide trendy designs associated with the growing basketball culture in North
America, started by basketball icon Michael Jordan. In 1985, Peter Moore who
was working for Nike as a lead designer wanted to create a product that would relate
to individuals and provide an emotional and social connection to pure design by
relating it to a player that revolutionized the game of basketball. Many argue that
this was the shoe to start the current fashion culture of athletic shoes. Michael
Jordan was drafted third by the Chicago Bulls in 1984, and in commemoration for
that event, the Air Jordan I was created with a striking balance of red, white, and
black representing the Chicago Bulls. With the famous Nike Swoosh logo on its
design, Michael Jordan wore the shoes in every game that he played that season
getting paid $2.5 Million by Nike for an endorsement deal. It was the start of a
design revolution by Nike and was one of the most attractive shoes at the time. In
the next 33 years till 2017, the Nike Air Jordan has made Nike a fortune worth over
2.25 billion, through their excellent design and significant part of culture and
society. Today individuals are a part of the #Jumpman movement with over 13
million followers on Instagram, Nike has used their ability to market their
infamous design of the Jordan logo (a man jumping with a basketball) to create
social value and create an inclusive social movement of athletes all around the
world. This is what Nike is using to grow revenue and according the end of year
fiscal 10K report that Nike filed with the SEC, they
What I Learned During This Counseling And
Communication...
Communication and dialogue can be challenging. I learned a lot about
communication and it s subtleties in COUN 506. During this course I worked on
acquiring basic counseling and communication skills, have an awareness of
multicultural differences, awareness of professional identity and have a basic
understanding of the dynamics in psychotherapy. Each week I was asked to hold
counseling sessions with my peers and other week we taped our counseling session
for review and transcription. During these tapings I was asked to demonstrate
communication and counseling skills learned in this course. I was also expected to
transcribe five minutes of taping as well as submit a reflection paper with my
transcription and tape. In this paper, I will discuss some of the things I learned during
this counseling and communications class. My experience coming into this class,
some of the skills I learned, and a few of the things I found helpful.
Experience
Coming into this counseling course I had little practice in the counseling role with
adults. I was nervous and uncomfortable coming into this class. Knowing that I was
to be analyzed and taped during counseling sessions was the source of my
nervousness and discomfort. My counseling skills were minimal and I was
conscious of the fact that I was a complete novice in the counseling role. I needed to
learn basic therapeutic factors (Young, 2013) and gain practice in order to feel
comfortable in my counseling skills with adults. Furthermore,
Sexuality In Brokeback Mountain
Sexuality can affect not only behavior, but also ones role in a social structure. Jack
Twist, a rodeo cowboy, and Ennis Del Mar, in the movie Brokeback Mountain,
encounter a sexual experience with each other and are not positively sure on how to
react to it. A rancher, Joe Aguirre, hired Jack and Ennis as sheepherders, their work
took place on Brokeback Mountainlocated in Wyoming. After months of lonely
work on this mountain, Jack and Ennis finally began to appreciate each other s
company. No matter how bad the weather got and how tired they were, their work
continued and eventually these two men, who were initially strangers to each other,
formed a bond. It was a cold night on the job and Jack and Ennis were all set up at
camp bonding... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was time for them to part ways and end what they secretly had on Brokeback
Mountain. A question many people would ask is; why would they not continue to
love each other and stay together? The answer is social structure affected them.
Social structure is the relationship between different entities or groups or as
enduring and relatively stable patterns of relationship and emphasizes the idea that
society is grouped into structurally related groups or sets of roles, with different
functions, meanings or purposes. (Merton) In Ennis and Jacks society, they both
played a role of straight men that work for the American dream. Their secret
relationship would not be accepted in society, which is why they decided to say
goodbye instead of continuing their love for each other. As time went on, they both
settled down and got married. Ennis married a woman named Alma and had two
daughters while Jack found a female rodeo rider. Years passed by and everything
seemed to be working out until one day Jack visited Ennis after about twenty years
from when they were together last. Alma saw Jack and Ennis greet each other with
love and kissing. This shocked Alma and put her in a situation not knowing how to
handle it. Jack and Ennis continued to visit each other and would take spontaneous
trips to Brokeback Mountain to relive the old days. Jack was persistent with the
NASA Sending Robots To Mars
What is mining? Mining is the process or industry of obtaining coal or other
minerals from a mine. NASA is sending mining robots to Mars. Some of you may
ask, Why is NASA sending robots to Mars? Well, if the robots can dig up the ice, to
make methane and oxygen for rockets, then there will be less human trips to Mars.
NASAsends mini mining trucks to Mars to dig up ice. NASA has created big
mining trucks but they don t have the money to build a big enough rocket to send
the mining trucks to Mars.(Metzger and Written) NASA is also making a robot
called a Swarmie. By packing a lot of air, water, and fuel into a rocket before firing
it into an orbit is the least efficient way to get these things into space. This will be
very expensive and time consuming. A better way to get... Show more content on

A Robotic Minesweeper stopped a bomb that killed thousands of troops. It is a
normal military vehicle with a mine roller that can clear convoys without a human
driver. A module containing software and multiple sensors could work with other
vehicles, this technology could make any military vehicle into a robot that will be
able to work tirelessly through the rain, snow, dust, and darkness. The robotic
vehicles would play many roles for the military in supply convoys, airfield
construction, and similar operations. So, the U.S. military will have supply convoys
that are mostly robotic vehicles like minesweepers and supply trucks.(Hsu)
Mining has a long history of providing raw materials. The global demand is higher
than ever cause the drop in the price of oil. Gold mines today only contain particles
of gold in rocks, which is known as ore. Weathering of the ore can release sulfuric
acid into streams and rivers. Today countries, like Germany, China, India and Peru,
depend on mining for income. There has been some improvement over the years,
several countries have reduced the number of children in mining and that prevents

The Importance Of The Centrality And Power Of Love
The centrality and power of love as experienced by humans has led them to write
songs throughout the ages. It has also resulted in verses and stories about love
which they describe as the indescribable and mysterious force that leads them to
the peaks of felicity as well as to the depths of despair. Love is the ultimate human
concern. It is also the object of all human striving as well as the universal principle
engirdling all human activities (Brent Linge 3). The need to examine and explore
love to its very depths has been a major human priority from the beginning of time.
Platos symposiumis an example of a forum, which focuses on myths, and motifs of
love. It is an ancient discourse, which records stories and verses in form of speech
by six prominent Athenians. Their stories depict the nature and function of love.
Plato s doctrine of Eros, love is egocentric in nature. It is also apathetic towards the
others. It is destructive and discouraging for people who crave a comprehensive
understanding of authentic love and the love for others God included. Unlike other
Platonic dialogues which cover topics such as conceptions of justice, the nature of
knowledge and the constitution of reality suggested by Parmenides, the symposium
takes a different, rather sentimental approach. Plato strives to link love to philosophy.
He demonstrates that the concept is after all, the handmaiden of philosophy. He takes
local and traditional theories of love and utilizes them to come up with a

This TEDWomen talk is 14 minutes and 58 seconds in length.
III.How does this presentation fit into the class? Why is it important? (250 words
strongly suggested)
This presentation fits into the class because we discussed in great depths about the
wage gap that our society has between men and women in the workplace. Sandberg
makes more than the average male her net worth in 2016 was 1.39 billion dollars.
It is important that men and women start being treated equally. Sandberg discusses
the issue of why there are only a few women leaders and how to keep women in the
workforce to create more leaders. She also talks about how women should act and
how society should be treating them. It is important that she addresses these issues
because the wage gap not just in America but also all over the world is a huge
issue. Right now women working full time earn 81 percent of what full time
workingmen make. There is a 19 percent wage gap between men and women. It s
2016 we need to live in a society where both men and women have equal chances in
the workplace and we should more commonly see women in positions of power in
all different sectors of the work field. Women who are just as qualified, and work
the same hours, as men shouldn t be paid 4 dollars less than men to do the same job.
The wage gap needs to be getting
The Technology of Cash Flows Essay
In today s economy, cash is often considered to be king. This rings true for
consumers and companies alike. The flows of a company s cash are summarized on
a company s statement of cash flows (Gibson, 2011). The cash flow statement
provides information regarding the effectiveness of company management in
operating the business, how the company s money is derived, and the way funds are
being spent (Megan, Hategan, Caciuc, Cotlet, 2009). A company s management uses
the statement of cash flows to assist with budgeting as it can predict cash flows in
the future (Megan et al., 2009). Additionally, investors use it to assess the financial
health of a company (Gibson, 2011; Megan et al., 2009). Technology companies have
experienced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The significant competition requires continued efforts in innovation and investments
in new technologies, products and services (Google, 2014). To keep up with the rapid
growth, it maintains a large staff of more than 47,000 (as of the end of 2013) with
39% of its employees in research and development and 32.1% in sales and marketing
(Google, 2014).
Ultimately, companies are in the business to make money. To do this, they trade
goods or services for cash, credit, or other goods and/or services of comparable
value (bartering). Although some businesses rely more heavily on cash
transactions, businesses would be unable to remain a going concern without long
run cash inflows exceeding outflows (Megan et al., 2009). Essentially, the
statement of cash flows bridges the gap between accruals and cash flows and
allows for the quality of earnings to be evaluated (Ohlson Aier, 2009). It
accomplishes this task by making adjustments to the net income figure from the
income statement to add back non cash related transactions (Gibson, 2011; Megan
et al., 2009). As noted by Ohlson and Aier (2009), cash in a literal sense must have
been exchanged for it to have an effect on the statement of cash flows (p. 1093).
Therefore, expenses such as depreciation and amortization that do not involve the use
of cash are added
Why The Rich Should Pay Higher Taxes
What do you think would happen if the rich paid more taxes? Would there be a
better economy or would it be worst, maybe even stay the same. Increasing the
taxes would help out our economy in a few ways. one way that it would help out
our economy is that not only would there be less of a concentration of profit at the
top of our social ladder there would be more revenue for the funding of civil union
jobs. Also not to mention causing the bigger corporations to have to pay more so
they would be unable to escape with the majority of the illegal activity they do
today. Lastly if the government were to crack down on offshoring it would help with
collecting taxes and the money would return to the people and back into circulation
for our economy. Here are some reasons why the rich should pay higher taxes.
One of the obvious reasons to raise the taxes of the rich would be because they
simply earn more. One example is if two people started the year off with fifty
thousand but then let us say one had a rich family member that died and they had
received millions through a will, then say they received a gift of one billion by the
end of the year they pay the same taxes even though one of they are now a billionaire
(Cohen). The reason is that the government does not tax on gifts or wills so then they
would not have to pay more taxes if they received a gift that had consisted of a large
sum of cash (Cohen). Now there is a large chunk of change out of circulation and
now the middle/lower

At the age of 3 months we see early signs of phonology; children will turn their
heads, and stop crying once hearing parent s voices. They indicate contentment and
amusement by smiling, and repeating sounds (e.g. cooing). (Berk, 2003). In
addition babies 4 7 months notice new sounds such as the telephone. They also
respond to no and changes in tone of voice. Early sound discrimination skills are
beginning to emerge. At 6 months of age, long before they are ready to talk, babies
start to organise speech into the phonemic categories of their own language. (Berk,
2003). Semantics develops at the age from 8months 1 year old as they respond to
sounds such as doorbells and telephones. And begin to babble repeated consonants
and vowels. The Nativist theory states that language acquisition is a biological
phenomenon such as the child s inner clock theory and any role play between child
and carer and by the environment is something less important, which theoretically
means that nature will take its course and the child will develop its own
How Does Chico Mendes Impact The World
The thought of one person having a big impact in the world is a game changer for
me. Chico Mendes was the person our group chose to research that did just that. He
impacted the world in such a big way, people today are still talking about it. For
example, in AP Environmental class, my group just learned about him. For this
project, making a canvas was the best choice because A picture is worth more than a
million words. This canvas has a painted muca flying over a blurred out background
of a rainforest going through deforestation. The meaning behind this canvas is that
Chico Mendes was fighting for what he believed was right. When the Amazon
Rainforest was going through deforestation, Chico Mendes was fighting to save
rubber trees. This artwork is meant to inspire others to know that we can make a
change to help save the environment. The hope is that people become aware of the
climate changeand the earth warming up.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humans should admire that and not take it for granted. Climate change is something
i was aware of but not really too concerned about; after learning more about the effect
humans have in the environment, it made me want to change some of the decisions I
make. For example, instead of drinking multiple bottles of water, I can just reuse a
single bottle of water. Chico Mendes started out wanting just to save the rubber trees
and ended up fighting for humanity. This is because Humanity needs trees to filter the
air for humans; the trees turn the carbon dioxide that we exhale into oxygen, which
we inhale. In conclusion, Chico Mendes impacted me in a way to want to change
the everyday decisions i make to help slow down climate change. Even though
Chico Mendes was fighting to save the Amazon Rainforest, he did more than just
that. Chico Mendes made in impact in my life for something he did a while back,
but it still affects people to this
Essay On Beethoven Fifth Symphony
The well known Beethoven s Fifth Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven whose
lifetime was 1770 1827 is known around the world. Beethoven was a widely known
German composer and pianist of the classical and Romantic era. Along with a
strong family history of relatives involved with the arts and his own personal health
issues, he remains the most substantial composers of all time. By Beethoven s late
20s his hearing began to diminish, and by the end of his life, he was nearly entirely
deaf. He wrote this famous piece between 1804 1808. This piece is one of the
greatest known conglomerations in classical music, and one of the most commonly
performed symphonies. The consonance and the four note opening concept, in
particular, are recognized universally.
This piece unfolds with the main theme dramatized at a very loud and boisterous
fashion. However, the music quickly turns considerable quieter and continues ... Show

For instance, the music becomes calmer when solos begin. The percussion section
furthermore is quite pronounced at times however it s more in the background for the
majority of the piece. With the main melody begin towards the forefront.
Beethoven conducted through what was presumably the foremost solitary revolution
in modern music. His work was immense, containing nine symphonies, five piano
concertos, also alternatives for violin, string quartets, piano sonatas, songs and
particular opera. He modified how music was collected and accepted. Right to the
end, he never ceased pushing music to its limits. The primary significance of
Beethoven s Fifth Symphony is the battle and victory beyond all the odds. The
composition of Beethoven was the beginning purpose for a unique school of music.
I feel Beethoven s Symphony no. 5 draws heavily on symbolism. Including the
heroic action of war and death. Profoundly the dramatic tone of the percussion leaves
me with a feeling of
The Conservation Assessment Of Common Trout And
Colorado...
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this conservation assessment is to provide land managers and the
general public with an overview of the distribution and status of common trout (brook
trout Salvelinus fontinalis; brown trout Salmo trutta; and rainbow trout
Oncorhynchus mykiss) on the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National
Forests (hereafter, GMUG). Common trout species are part of a suite of
Management Indicator Species (MIS) ...which are monitored during forest plan
implementation in order to assess the effects of management activities on their
populations and the populations of other species with similar habitat needs which
they may represent (Forest Service Manual 2620.5). MIS assessments are revised
every five years and each is a synthesis of the most recent field based observations
and peer reviewed science pertaining to the species.
Common trout and Colorado River cutthroat trout (O. clarkii stomias) are MIS
representing aquatic habitats on the GMUG. A variety of land management activities
can affect lake and stream habitats, including traditional forestry practices, road
construction and maintenance, fire and fuels management, and water development.
The presence of MIS species in a watershed is not an obstacle to active forest
management. On the contrary, MIS species are used by Forest personnel to gauge the
response of the entire forest ecosystem to land management projects we implement.
In particular, common trout were selected to assess effects of
The Confocal Microscopy And Microscopy
Abstract: 5 7 sentences
First; a brief introduction about the confocal microscopy, critical aspects of confocal
Microscopy, and the basic parts of the confocal microscope. It will follow by more
information about fluorescence microscopy which is used for study fixed and living
cells because of its versatility, specificity, and high sensitivity.
Introduction:
The Confocal Microscope is a type of microscope that is being developed for
obtaining high resolution images and 3D reconstruction. The images from the
confocal are far better then other microscopes; however, not quite as good as
fluorescent microscopes. The confocal shows the most fine details as possible in 3D;
the confocal microscopy offers several advantages over conventional wide field
optical microscopy, including the ability to control depth of field, elimination or
reduction of background information away from the focal plane (that leads to image
degradation), and the capacity to collect serial optical sections from thick specimens
[1]. The most significant value about the confocal microscope is the spatial filtering
techniques that terminate the glare and focus the substance into the view. As it has
been stated, there has been a tremendous explosion in the popularity of confocal
microscopy in recent years, due in part to the relative the ease with which extremely
high quality images can be obtained from specimens prepared for conventional
fluorescence microscopy, and the growing number of applications in
The Dangers Of Prison Gang And Gangs
Prison Gang and Violence
Nishat Salma
Borough of Manhattan Community College
Abstract
The most heinous crimes committed in the prisons are done by the hands of prison
gangs. Gangs compete with other gangs to be the most dangerous of them all. There
are many reasons why an inmate would join a prison gang. Some do it for the power
although others do it for protection from rival gangs or people who don t like them.
CBC News reported that in the last 5 years the numbers of inmates who are
affiliated with gangs has risen by 32%. Some people believe that prisons are the
breeding grounds for gang initiation and joining. Adult gang members in prison
range from ages 18 to 65 years old. Many prison gang members are brainwashed.
They are used to being fed, clothed, and sheltered in prison that they are unable to
walk a straight line once released. With little to no skills of surviving by themselves
in the real world, gang members return to prison because that is what they are used
to. It is common to find ex con gang members panhandling on the streets or resorting
to crimes such as robbery, burglary or theft. Gang members do what they know
instead of trying to become better. My topic is about prison gang and violence. Why

A Study On The Respiratory Exchange Essay
Abstract
The characteristics of the phylum, Arthropoda, includes jointed legs and an
exoskeleton (Freeman, 2014). The insect the team and I chose to work on were the
hissing cockroaches, Gromphadorhina portentosa. Hissing cockroaches are small
ectothermic animals and are known to have a tracheal system (Burnaford) that allows
them to transfer oxygen into their body. Introduction
The organism used in the experiment is a hissing cockroach and the main reason
was that cockroaches are arthropods that have a trachea in which is almost similar to
humans. Although humans have a trachea which is more of a wind pipe structure
whereas insects have a tracheae in which is more of a network of air tubes (Bartrim,
2014). The tracheal system has the capacity to transport oxygen and carbon dioxide
(Heinrich, 2013) in which the series of branched tubes help deliver oxygen from the
environment to the cells (Burnaford, 2016). The respiratory exchange is regulated by
the spiracles and this creates three phases of gas exchange (Bartrim, 2014);
continuous, cyclic, and discontinuous. The most distinct phase is the discontinuous
gas exchange cycle (DGC) because it s the phase that insects must deal with
(Heinrich, 2014). The DGC has its own three phases; closed phase, open phase, and
the flutter phase (Heinrich, 2014).
The hypothesis we had was that the mass of the insect correlates towards respiration.
The more mass it has the higher respiration. The dependent variable is the mass of the
Postmodernism And Modernism In Catch 22

surrounded by a huge cast of colourful and often weird characters, who are intended
to satirize not only military life but life in any large institution. They include Doc

The characteristics include the use of irony, playfulness, metafiction, and black

twentieth century. So postmodernism can only be understood in relation to
Modernism. Postmodernism describes both an era and a broad movement that
developed in the late 20th century across philosophy, the arts, architecture and
criticism which marked a departure from modernism. At its core, Postmodernism
rejects that which Modernism champions. While postmodernism seems very much
like modernism in many ways, it differs from modernism in its attitude toward a lot
of these trends. Modernism, for example, tends to present a fragmented view of
human subjectivity and history, but presents that fragmentation as something tragic,
something to be lamented and mourned as a loss. Postmodernism, in contrast, doesn t
lament the idea of fragmentation, but rather celebrates it. In literature, it used to
describe certain characteristics of post World War II literature, for example, on
fragmentation, paradox, questionable narrators, etc. and a reaction against
Enlightenment ideas implicit in Modernist
Star Life Cycles
There are two different life cycles for stars but they both start out as a Stellar
Nebula . It then splits off in to separate stars the Low Mass and The High Mass stars..
The Start:
Stars are born in a Nebulae which a clouds of dust and gas (mostly hydrogen). In
the stellar nurseries the dense parts undergo gravitational collapse and compress
into a rotating gas globule. The globule is cooled by emitting radio waves and
infrared radiation. It is compressed by gravitational forces and also by shock waves
of pressure from supernova or the hot gas released from nearby bright stars. These
forces cause the roughly spherical globule to collapse and rotate. The process of
collapse takes from between 10,000 to 1,000,000 years.

China s Economic, Military, And Political Power
Abstract China has always been a country talked about whether it s because of
trade that the U.S. and other countries are involved in or how much they have
grown as a country. You usually hear a story in the news about their growing
power. China has become one of the top countries in the world ranked as #2 right
behind the United States with a GDP of $10.4 trillion U.S. dollars as of 2014 and
continues to rise. China has transformed itself to a manufacturing and exporting hub
since they were a centrally closed economy in the 70 s and has grown over 7% in the
past couple of years while continuing to grow. What makes China s economy
powerful? As you continue to read this research paper you ll understand why and how
China has grown with their economic, military, and political power. I. Background

Knowing how to identify internal strengths and weakness can be beneficial in
helping to prepare for any examination. Time management and organizational skills
are a key trait that should be mastered extensively (Shelley, 2005). The most
successful students use their time wisely. An upcoming exam can create a heavy
burden. Making a realistic study schedule and having the proper study space that is
free from distractions and kept well organized is vital (Shelley, 2005). Test anxiety is
a very common trait that occurs in many people. You have spent weeks studying for
the examination, covered every single topic and read every single material having to
deal with the upcoming exam. You walk into the classroom, sit down, and retrieve all
your materials that you need. The instructor hands out your exam and gives everyone
the confirmation to begin. You open up the exam and start reading the first question,
hoping to be familiar with the subject. As you read question after question, you
realize that you can t recall the answers to anything that you have just read. According
to Salend (2011), this is the time that you start to panic, your chest gets tight, you get
sweaty, you start feeling overwhelmed (p. 58). Many students suffer from this type of
anxiety when it comes to taking examinations that can hinder their performance and
well being. Proper studying and adequate preparation can help students overcome test
anxiety and help improve their performance. Employing

WASTE GENERATION IN IBADAN
Solid waste
Although it is generally agreed that enormous quantities of solid waste are
generated in Ibadan daily, the exact figures have not been determined, probably
owing to the use of diverse methods of calculation. Maclaren International Ltd
(1970) found that the average per capita quantity of solid waste generated was 0.37
0.5 kg/day for the traditional areas of the city and 0.53 kg/day for the newer areas.
According to Egunjobi (1986), 38 million kg of solid waste was collected in the
suburbs of Ibadan in 1986. The suburbs constitute about 21% of the city. On this
basis, it can be estimated that 181 million kg of solid waste was generated in the
city as a whole in 1986. This gives a per capita waste generation rate of 0.31 kg/day,
using the 1986 estimated population of 1.6 million for the city.
In 1982, PAI Associates recorded the volume and weight of solid waste generated
The Golden Girls Analysis
Kids in elementary school are often given assignments of self exploration and
discovery. For example, teachers give students questionnaires at the beginning of
the school year asking for their favorite color, book, song, movie, television show,
etc. I find these questionnaires difficult, as my favorite book or song is consistently
changing; however, one category remains the same. My favorite television show,
since first watching in 2001, is The Golden Girls. It may seem unexpected that a six
year old finds a show about four older women living in Miami, Florida during the
mid 1980s interesting, but I did. I love each character: Blanche, man crazed woman

During the episode, Scared Straight, Sophia, Dorothy s mother, believes that she is

couch sighing in hopes that Dorothy asks her what is wrong. Eventually, Dorothy
asks and Sophia responds, I ve got three days to live (The Golden Girls). This
prompts Dorothy to respond: Fine Ma, I ll scratch ben gay off the grocery list
(The Golden Girls). This interaction highlights the more aware people become of
their own morality as they age. During youth, many people do not discuss the
possibility of death; however, as we become older life becomes more finite and
fleeting. This issue reinforces The Golden Girls ability to take serious and taboo
topics such as death and turn it into a comedic exchange between mother and
daughter Furthermore, The Golden Girls also analyze escaping facilities of the
elderly and display it in a comedic fashion. Before Sophia states she is dying, she
dreams that her dead husband comes to her, wearing his fedora, stating that she
can come now and there is room. However, this turns out to be a misunderstanding
when Sophia s friend Mildred comes to the door. Sophia asks, Mildred, what are you
doing here? to which Mildred responds: When do I always where my lucky bowling

Social and Ethical Technology Concerns-Biotechnology
Social and Ethical Technology Concerns Biotechnology
Biotechnology is technology based on living organisms. It harnesses cellular and
biomolecular processes to develop technologies or products which are immensely
useful to mankind. Biotechnology modifies living organisms according to our
needs. Humans have employed this tool in the fields of agriculture, food industry
and medicine for more than 6000 years. We see numerous biotechnological
applications in our every day life. Preparation of food products like bread, cheese
and preservatives in dairy products are all outcomes of this great scientific tool
(Biotechnology Industry Organization).
Modern biotechnological research has created wonders for mankind. It has provided
products to combat rare diseases, vaccines for untreatable diseases, food for the
hungry and a safer, cleaner environment to our planet.
Biotechnology has played a vital role in reducing the green house effect and in
producing a cleaner planet. Because of the worldwide economic and environmental
concerns regarding the use of petro chemicals, extensive research has been
conducted on residual biomass. Significant progress has been made in the field of
lignocellulose biotechnology. Lignocellulosic waste materials have been used in the
production of bio fuels, enzymes, chemicals, the pulp and paper, animal feed and
composites (Iqbal, 2013). Moreover, algal biomass has received huge attention in
producing biofuels due to their relatively high growth rate, great

going to leave the city to a place called the Smoke where uglies go to escape and
that if Tally ever wants to join her, she is leaving directions in a code only Tally
will understand. Tally doesn t follow as she believes being pretty is a good idea
and doesn t agree with Shay s thoughts about it. Shay escapes and Tally s turn to
become pretty is here. However, special circumstances find out that Shay ran away
and left the directions behind, so the give Tally a choice. The choice is to find
Shay and turn her in so Tally becomes pretty or Tally never turns pretty at all. Tally

that the city purposefully withheld important reports and photos that would serve

Castel shares the exact same anxieties in his waking life; although he is a highly
respected painter, he despises critics because he is paranoid about their opinion of
him. He is also recklessly fretful that Maria will leave him or that she doesn t care
about him. As he encounters more and more of his surroundings, Castel finds that
his first adolescent loves were being reborn in the house, with the same trembling
and sensations of sweet madness and fear and joy (88). His adolescent loves are
symbolic of the love that he is unearthing through Maria. Since Castel has not
experienced a true and substantial relationship, he clings to it as if he were a child
holding dearly onto its mother. These adolescent loves also suggest that he cannot
develop an adult relationship with Maria and that they he has childish and
unrealistic intentions. Castel s sweet madness foreshadows his eventual turn
towards insanity after he realizes he cannot have the person who gave his life
purpose and gave him a sense of fulfillment. When Castel awakes, he concludes that
the house in the dream was Maria. The house denotes obscurity by being dark and
by him often being lost within it. Maria is a cryptic woman who sometimes gives
Castel definition but often leads him astray. Because of her puzzling

After much investigation on the killing of Laius, Oedipus discovers three truths;
two of which he swore would never be true. The least bothersome of the three was
the discovery about his biological parents. Oedipus lived his whole life believing
that Polybus was his father and Merope was his mother; but in fact Laius was his

An even worse discovery than that of being adopted was figuring out that he

friendship. On the surface, it sounds like a fair assessment. Now, what if I tell you
now that my friend is living in his car and has about 2 dollars in his bank account.
Certainly, you would not expect me to be upset if he doesn t come down to my
wedding now, as he is severely limited in his monetary capabilities to physically be
at my wedding. This same principle should apply to McMahan in regards to soldiers
in economic duress, but as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That being said, McMahan has no right to essentially scold an individual for not
being able to fix a financial situation without knowing the circumstances to which
that individual was put in that predicament. Now I acknowledge that McMahan
could counter this argument by saying that due to the high rate of mortality, the
decision to go to war must not be taken lightly. As such, anyone with financial
strains on the verge of entering a war that could be unjust should simply do
something else to find money and sustain their survival. This is a fair assessment,
as individuals should look to all possible courses of action when deliberating a
major decision like entering a war. That being said, I challenge, McMahan to say
the same if he is in a position of severe economic duress, to the point of starvation
and still want to take the time to find a way past this other than war if the choice
was provided to him. There would be no way of this happening because he will
physically not be in a position to choose because his body is withering

Overview
Caffeine and plant growth
The effect of adding caffeine to the soil and its effect on plant growth is a subject
that has been studied for quite some time. Some plants seem to benefit and grow
faster when caffeine is added to the soil, while others seem to become stunted or
grow slower. There are also some plants that are not affected by... Show more content

Chipotle Executive Summary
Executive Summary
The restaurant industry in the United States had annual sales of $ 631.8 billion and
employs 12.9 million people in 2012. Even in times of recession there is little
evidence that this industry has seen a decline especially in its fast food and quick
service segment. But with a depressed economy with no immediate upward trend in
the near future, majority of the customers indicated that they would either curtail
their spending on eating or best maintain its current level which is certainly going to
affect the future of many restaurants in the industry. Chipotle is part of the fast casual
segment of the U.S industry with over 1,600 restaurants.

The Monster s Statue Of Liberty
A towering two headed monster rips the statue of liberty off of its stand in one
hand, grasping a bloody knife in the other. The heads are those of a distorted Hitler
and Japanese leader, dripping blood in a mouth full of fangs. The world is aflame
beneath the monsters feet, the only thing holding it back is a glowing hand
grasping a wrench with the word production plastered onto the side of it. Below this
image of total production is a space of blank white with black text that reads Stop
this monster that stops at nothing... PRODUCE to the limit! and in red stylized font

This is YOUR war! attempts to unify the American people. This is done in
particular in the text This is YOUR war! which is printed in a special red font on a
white background, compared to the black text of the rest. The meaning of this
slogan is clear, this war isn t a war for the government or for the rich, and this war
is for everyone. The arguments of the image about the destruction of liberty, and by
continuation, of America, hope to create the idea in Americans that this war is vital
to their survival. This is in particular important, since many Americans felt that
WW1 was a war that was fought on the behalf of the rest of Europe, and that
America shouldn t have been involved. By creating the idea that this war was for the
benefit of everyone, the government hoped that the war effort would not be stopped
by reluctant Americans. In order to further the feeling that this war was for the
people, the image attempts to convince people to directly help the war effort by

of my goals. One of my goals is to be a leader in a business organization. Being the
captain of the swim team sets a concrete foundation of what being a leader is like in
a business organization. As the captain I have to make sure everyone is accounted
for, keep morale high, talk about issues about an individual on the swim team, and fix
said problem. This shows responsibility, character, and sympathy. These are core
values that all leaders must have to be successful. Without them, they will
What Is The Role Of Women In The 1920 s
In the 19th century, women were considered mothers and wives. Women have
struggled since the early ages trying to advance in knowledge. For many people
today the word Victorian continues to carry a connotation of prudery and sexual
repression; it was an age that un questionably preceded the onset of the permissive
society ( Arnstein 596). Tracy Chevalier has examples of how women struggled in her
novel Remarkable Creatures reflecting women. Womanin the Victorian Erawere not
recognized for their intellect; they wanted freedom, genderequality, and further
education.
Freedom was not an option for the women of the Victoria era During the reign of

Therefore, it is considered that acquaintance knowledge that men still make more
money than a women, and men also hold most of the position of power in society.
Man is fitted for feats of strength and burst of energy; woman has more stability and
endurance (Overton 273). Men are best as providers, while women are enhanced
nurturers. Man are consider physically stronger than women, but women have the
capacity of a better thinking. Which it makes a big difference between a women and
a men, because without a women men is not capable to complete a work.
For example, in the novel Remarkable Creatures men is getting credit for the work
that
Mary Anning provide during the hunting in the fossil. One man that did not credit
Mary for her worked is Lord Henley, after she sold the creature to him. Lord Henley
sold to a an exhibition in

Importance of Good Precedents for Sustaining
Democracies...
There are many different reasons why the partition of India occurred. When Britain
oppressed India, they had a divide and conquer policy that exacerbated the religious
and cultural rifts that already existed in the society. The Muslim League, which
believed in the ideology of Pakistan , actively campaigned to gain more support for
the Muslims in India, especially under the guidance of dynamic leaders like Jinnah.
Pakistani leader and founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah believed that this partition was
inevitable since [a] united India would never have worked (Komireddi 2009). He and
others thought that a unified state would only lead to the relegation of Muslims to
the fringe of society and, ultimately, to violence and civil war. The Indian... Show

The east and west sides of Pakistan were not divided over religion (they were mostly
all Muslim), rather the division was on the basis of culture and language. West
Pakistan was Punjabi while East Pakistan was Bengali. In 1971, there was a major
war between India and Pakistan and the east side of Pakistan split off into what is
today called Bangladesh. For the purposes of this essay, we will be focusing on just
Pakistan and India.
The people in both countries have very common and even interlocked
backgrounds, so how is it that these countries have very divergent political
atmospheres since partition? India, adapting from the legacy of British rule and the
Government of India Act 1935 for its constitution, kept the idea of federalism and
was also successful in operating its political system within the formal democracy.
Except for 18 months between 1975 and 1977 India maintained its democratic
institutions. In the five decades since partition, there have been twelve legislative
elections and many more state assembly elections. There have been seven peaceful
transfers of power between rival political parties at the central (federal) level
(Varshney 1998). Since 1967, the party that ruled in New Delhi has not ruled in
nearly half of the states (Varshney 1998). A fleeting sample of the morning
newspapers will show that the press in India has remained diverse, dynamic, free, and
altogether unafraid to
The Return Of Depression Economics
2008 Economics Noble Prize winner and Princeton University professor, Paul
Krugman, translates the roots of modern and prior financial crisis economics. In his
book, The Return of Depression Economics and The Crisis of 2008, Krugman first
educates the reader of historical and foreign financial crises which allows for a
deeper understanding of the modern financial system. The context provided from the
historical analysis proves to be a crucial prospective in such a way that the rest of
Krugman s narrative about modern finance continually relates back to the historical
analysis. From there, Krugman analyzes and updates his prior studies done on the
Asian financial crisis. He then applies his knowledge from historical events to the
modern day financial struggles and argues his opinion about how and why our
financial world operates the way it does. Krugman explains his perspective that the
world believed that depression economicswas no longer a problem, however the
Asian crisis, Japan s liquidity trap and the Latin American crisis having acted as
warning signals to modern market struggles. Thus he says that this subject needs
further examination and more resources should be poured into it. For Krugman,
Depression Economics is still a relevant problem and should be further studied.
On top of simply translating past and present financial systems, Krugman dissects the
interconnection between economics and politics. Starting with the rise of socialism,
many governments took on

After customer acceptance of the bid, Design Engineer places the purchase order
and then the production is scheduled as shown in Exhibit 1. Donner used
soldermask over bare copper or SMOBC as its manufacturing process. This
SMOBC process could yield to denser circuit pattern and greater reliability. The
process consisted of three stages: preparation, image transfer, and fabrication.
Altogether, there were 15 operations in the overall manufacturing process (exhibit

of circuit boards. In the SMOBC process, each task was lined up in sequence. The
order had to follow each operation in the process from Artwork Generation to
Inspect, Test, Pack. Thus, the production process at Donner was considered a
production line and had a batch flow process. However, Donner would have to do the
different setup for different specifications received from customers. Therefore, the
setup time of the process would increase in correlation with the increase in the
number of orders. In other words, the more order they took, the slower they could
produce. Symptoms and reasons of the occurrence of symptoms. 1. Change orders:

  • 1. Remember The Titans Essay Crafting an essay on the topic "Remember The Titans" can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the subject matter is rich with themes related to racial integration, leadership, and teamwork, offering ample material for analysis. However, this abundance of content can also pose a challenge as it requires careful selection and organization to create a coherent and compelling narrative. To begin with, understanding the historical context and cultural nuances depicted in the movie is crucial. Delving into the characters' backgrounds, motivations, and transformations throughout the film adds layers to the analysis. Furthermore, exploring the directorial choices, cinematography, and soundtrack can provide valuable insights into the storytelling techniques employed. The task becomes intricate when attempting to strike a balance between personal reflections and objective analysis. It requires the writer to intertwine their interpretation of the movie with evidence from the narrative, characters, and cinematic elements. Moreover, maintaining a cohesive structure and logical flow while transitioning between different aspects of the essay demands meticulous planning and execution. Another challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and offering unique perspectives. Given the popularity of "Remember The Titans," numerous essays have likely been written on the same topic. Hence, the writer must strive to present fresh insights, perhaps by exploring less-discussed elements or drawing connections to broader societal issues. In conclusion, composing an essay on "Remember The Titans" demands a combination of research, critical thinking, and creativity. Navigating through the complexities of the movie's themes and characters while maintaining a distinctive voice can be arduous but ultimately rewarding. Analyze the rationale and purpose of the exclusionary rule The exclusionary rule is not in the Constitution because it was made by the court due to the need that presented itself. The intension was to ensure that the 4th Amendment is kept and not violated. Most people are aware of their right to privacy, and how it protects them from unwarranted searches. Nevertheless, most them do not comprehend how the Exclusionary Rule which ensures this right is guarded. The Exclusionary Rule is intended to refrain the police from misconduct. Secondly, Inevitable Discovery Doctrine. With this exception, two modes of seizing evidence are considered but only one is physical. Illegal means are used in the securing of the evidence physically. The other seizure of evidence is hypothetical and is seized illegally. Good Faith is the last exception. In this case, the magistrate issues a seizure warrant for acquiring evidence. However, this may not be in sync with the role of the exclusionary rule in deterring the police from any misconduct and also the evidence suppression may not occur. The limitation of this exception is that, if the defense can convince the judge that the officer was reckless in seizing the evidence, then the good faith will be nullified. Cost and benefits of the exclusionary rule There is a public and governmental cost that is imposed by the exclusionary rule on the public when it frees the guilty and sidetracks the court on its mandate to obtain the truth. The fabric of the law is also tainted. There are professional costs also incurred by individuals within the system of criminal justice. The rigidity of the law causes the concerned parties like the police, magistrates and lawyers to allow double standards in order to proceed with a case. In an effort to conclude a case, they ignore certain violations of this draconian rule so as to allow the use of evidence. When the exclusionary rule is upheld, there administrative costs imposed on the government
  • 3. The Middle Period And The Fall Of The Medieval Period The Medieval Period lasted from 400 1500 AD and began with the fall of the Western Roman Empire. The fall and the beginning of this era had massive changes to the social and economic systems of that time. These changes began to occur because of the start of feudalism in both Europe and Asia during this time in hope to protect themselves from barbarians. At that time, the feudal system was the law of the land, and the way that the upper class maintained control over the lower class. To maintain this order the upper class provided protection to the lower class and in exchange, the lower class worked for the upper class. This was true in both Asia and Europe as they both had a social class system to make sure everything isn t going to chaos. Yet, these ideals weren t passed on between one another, more that each area adapted to that type of government based on the circumstances. Even in this time where there was uncivilized and odd people rampaging about, there was people whom had done great achievements. These people allowed their nations to advance whether it was by fighting and conquering land, preaching of their religion, or by creating marvelous inventions. They did amazing and remarkable things to not only advance their nation but as well affect them long after their deaths. Making sure that their legacies were never forgotten or left behind at all. To express and prove it let s evaluate the extent to which the expertise and the achievements of Toyotomi Hideyoshiwith

With budget issues, staff shortages and a growing city, the organizational chart and department will continue to change. As of now the City of Hialeah Gardens Police Department currently has 38 sworn personnel, 4 public service aids, 6 dispatchers and 6 support staff members for a city the populates nearly 22, 257 residents. The above staff is bonded by an unbroken line of authority extending from the Chief of Police through each level of command to an individual employee of the Hialeah Gardens Police Department. The GIU Lieutenant will supervise the GIU Sergeant, as well as administrative Sergeant. The administrative Sergeant will supervise all support services employees to list a few, Records, Property, and Communications. The strength of my organizational chart is more accountability. Each position will oversee and supervise an important aspect of the day to day operations. The span of control will be proper and the duties will be evenly split amongst the command staff and first line staff. The chain of command has its checks and balances and each position responds to a supervisor. The weakness of the current organizational chart is that the Patrol Lieutenant basically oversees the entire department and responds to the Captain. There are not much accountability and lacks standards.

Morreale Communication is a two way process that takes practice and time to be fully effective and is very important in every aspect our personal and professional lives. We communicate every day of our lives both verbally or nonverbally. The process of verbal communication is the exchanging information by transmitting an idea, send that idea, receive feedback, understand the idea and the feedback and provide feedback to the person who sent the message. The main components of communication are context, encoder, message, medium, decoder, and feedback. The context could be social, chronological, cultural, or physical. This chain is often ran by formal orders, detectives, and written memorandums. In the police organization these forms provide a sense of order and security. Using excessive or exclusive communications however have certain disadvantages. One disadvantage in strict adherence to formal channels can be both time and personnel consuming. Memorandums must be drafter carefully ad must go through the chain of command for endorsements and then must be forwarded to the correct personnel according to departmental policy. Another disadvantage of formal channels is what effect this can have on free flow of information. Using formal channels will require a written record and many people hesitate to put their thoughts in writing because they are intimidated, afraid of losing their job, etc., which restricts the flow of information. However, using formal communications makes it possible for the officers to receive new directives and information concerning crimes rather quickly. Formal communication is less confusing and establishes a paper trail for legal purposes, if the need arrives (Wallace amp; Roberson, 2009). Informal channels are the unofficial route of communication within an agency. Informal communication has also been labeled as gossip and should not be taken seriously until verified. Using informal channels when time is critical actually can save time. Instead of going through the chain
  • 6. The Ugly Americ Influence And Effects The Ugly American: Influence and Effects Diplomacy is the art of dealing with foreign countries in a sensitive and effective way. The ability to influence the people contributes to effective American diplomacy. In, The Ugly American, William J. Lederer and Eugene Burdick, comment on the nature of American diplomacy in 1950s Southeast Asia. They identify the characteristics and effects of both inept and skilled diplomacy. The book highlights knowledge of the language, history, and culture as critical components to the ability to influence indigenous populations. In many ways the situations and characters described in the book, mirror the situations and challenges faced by Special Operations Forces (SOF) today. The Special Operations Imperatives are a planning tool that SOF use to influence the people and situations they encounter. In order to understand the influence and effects of proper application of the Special Operations Imperatives the stories of Homer Atkins, Colonel Hillandale and Solomon Asch provide a setting to compare and contrast with my own experiences in Afghanistan, Iraq and Jordan. Homer Atkins understood the needs of the Sarkhanese people. He identified small scale, local options to address challenges affecting the day to day lives of the local population. He used local materials and humbly sought out and accepted input from the local population to ensure long term sustainment of a bicycle operated water pump system. The Pros And Cons Of The Cuban Embargo The new era began, Barack Obama and RaГєl Castro announced that the United States of America and Cuba will restore full diplomatic relations for the first time in more than 50 years since severing ties in 1961. Barston 2006, defines diplomatic relations as the art and practice of conducting negotiations between representatives of states. It usually refers to international diplomacy, the conduct of international relations through the intercession of professional diplomats with regard to issues of peace making, trade, economics and culture (p. 1). One of the major areas it will address is the lifting of the Cuban embargo. The embargo restricts trade, travel and communication between the two states which hinders the economic development of Cuba.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Scola (2014) It is estimated that only 5 percent of the Cuban population has access to the open Internet . All Internet connections in Cuba are available exclusively through Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S.A. (ETECSA). Because wireless Internet service is not available to the general population, landline Internet is the sole means of connecting people in Cuba to the Internet. The combination of inadequate infrastructure and the government s deliberate policy which controls access to the internet have produced an extremely slow service that is not widely available throughout the population. With better diplomatic relations with the United States the Cuban government can benefit greatly from telecommunications mostly internet advancements which can positively affect the economy in many ways. First, it can reduce the cost of production. Second, it can increase revenues. Third, it can increase employment through both direct and indirect effects and lastly it provides channels of communication to avert humanitarian disasters and assist in reconstruction efforts. The United States help the Cuban economy to develop the telecommunications by providing the country with many of the technological infrastructures needed to become
  • 8. Analysis Of Man In The Mirror Man in the Mirror is about a man who believes that only by changing himself will he be able to change the world. The main focus of the song is a man s struggle to improve himself morally after witnessing his inability to impact the lives of those in need. Michael Jackson reflects on how the world around him is suffering while he lives a life of comfort, and the guilt triggers his decision to change himself so that he can eventually help the world. . The song raises up questions such as, What purpose does an individual serve in a community? How can we bring about positive changes to the world? How can one person make a major impact in the world? Man in the Mirror sends a very universal message, basically telling the world to improve themselves individually so that the whole improves as a result. The discussion will focus more on the symbolical lyrics because there is a lot of straightforward vocabulary in each verse. In the first verse, Michael uses a winter coat and cold weather to give an example of the trying times that some people undergo. First he mentions the coat he wears to protect himself from the chilly weather As I turned up the collar on my favourite winter coat. Despite wearing the coat, Michael states that the wind still got to his head This wind is blowin my mind. This personification of the wind is used to illustrate how Michael escaped the physical affects of the cold but not the mental effects. The reason why it affected him mentally is because of what follows, which is the sight of kids in the street, with not enough to eat . Michael feels sorry for the kids suffering in the street because he has the resources to survive and they don t. He states that the coat is his favorite, meaning he has multiple coats. The difference between him and the struggling children becomes even more apparent when the audience realizes that Michael is rich and that he has probably never suffered like the kids. He then questions himself saying: who am I, to be blind? In this case blind is used as a metaphor to show how much neglect the kids have been receiving from him as an individual. Although the kids are there struggling, Michael is probably too caught up in his own world to acknowledge their
  • 9. The Importance Of Public Diplomacy Turkey has been a powerful country in its region because it is a Muslim country ruling with democracy since 1923 is seen as an example for other Muslim countries in the region. Public diplomacy functions as a tool to inform and educate the target audience so that there can be favorable relationships with other countries (White and Radic, 2014). Another function of public diplomacyis building dialog and creating sympathy for the country itself. As a field, public diplomacy has no theoretical perspective and strong background (Entman, 2008) which it could provide a framework. Public diplomacy became popular in the years of the cold war (Gilboa, 2008). The field nourishes from public relations, branding, systems theory, communication, social sciences, social psychology, international relations, political communication, cultural studies, psychology, media framing, diplomacy studies (Gilboa, 2008; Gregory, 2008). This is because the field is new and some scholars argue that public diplomacy is not an academic field. Gregory (2008) argues public diplomacy can be treated as an academic field based on three considerations: an achievable consensus on an analytical framework; a substantial body of relevant scholarship and practical literature; and benefits for learning, shared knowledge, and professional practice. (p.286). Public diplomacy is a promising field and it is studied in some schools however for it be considered full academic field, academicians need to contribute to
  • 10. Nike Case Study Nike s Social and Experiential Value Creation Nike over the years has been the leader in athletic shoe designs and remains there today. It is the reason that Nike is differentiated from its competitors and provides experiential and social value for its customers. In fact, Nike has put so much emphasis in design and marketing behind their shoe trends that Nike shoes are among the most counterfeited product in a $461 billion market according to a report by ABC news. (Add why that is important?) For further analysis on Nike s design oriented focus, we will be looking at the product line of Nike Jordan Shoes. The Air Jordan shoes are consumer focused shoes that provide trendy designs associated with the growing basketball culture in North America, started by basketball icon Michael Jordan. In 1985, Peter Moore who was working for Nike as a lead designer wanted to create a product that would relate to individuals and provide an emotional and social connection to pure design by relating it to a player that revolutionized the game of basketball. Many argue that this was the shoe to start the current fashion culture of athletic shoes. Michael Jordan was drafted third by the Chicago Bulls in 1984, and in commemoration for that event, the Air Jordan I was created with a striking balance of red, white, and black representing the Chicago Bulls. With the famous Nike Swoosh logo on its design, Michael Jordan wore the shoes in every game that he played that season getting paid $2.5 Million by Nike for an endorsement deal. It was the start of a design revolution by Nike and was one of the most attractive shoes at the time. In the next 33 years till 2017, the Nike Air Jordan has made Nike a fortune worth over 2.25 billion, through their excellent design and significant part of culture and society. Today individuals are a part of the #Jumpman movement with over 13 million followers on Instagram, Nike has used their ability to market their infamous design of the Jordan logo (a man jumping with a basketball) to create social value and create an inclusive social movement of athletes all around the world. This is what Nike is using to grow revenue and according the end of year fiscal 10K report that Nike filed with the SEC, they
  • 11. What I Learned During This Counseling And Communication... Communication and dialogue can be challenging. I learned a lot about communication and it s subtleties in COUN 506. During this course I worked on acquiring basic counseling and communication skills, have an awareness of multicultural differences, awareness of professional identity and have a basic understanding of the dynamics in psychotherapy. Each week I was asked to hold counseling sessions with my peers and other week we taped our counseling session for review and transcription. During these tapings I was asked to demonstrate communication and counseling skills learned in this course. I was also expected to transcribe five minutes of taping as well as submit a reflection paper with my transcription and tape. In this paper, I will discuss some of the things I learned during this counseling and communications class. My experience coming into this class, some of the skills I learned, and a few of the things I found helpful. Experience Coming into this counseling course I had little practice in the counseling role with adults. I was nervous and uncomfortable coming into this class. Knowing that I was to be analyzed and taped during counseling sessions was the source of my nervousness and discomfort. My counseling skills were minimal and I was conscious of the fact that I was a complete novice in the counseling role. I needed to learn basic therapeutic factors (Young, 2013) and gain practice in order to feel comfortable in my counseling skills with adults. Furthermore,

A rancher, Joe Aguirre, hired Jack and Ennis as sheepherders, their work took place on Brokeback Mountainlocated in Wyoming. After months of lonely work on this mountain, Jack and Ennis finally began to appreciate each other s company. No matter how bad the weather got and how tired they were, their work continued and eventually these two men, who were initially strangers to each other, formed a bond. It was time for them to part ways and end what they secretly had on Brokeback Mountain. A question many people would ask is; why would they not continue to love each other and stay together? The answer is social structure affected them. Social structure is the relationship between different entities or groups or as enduring and relatively stable patterns of relationship and emphasizes the idea that society is grouped into structurally related groups or sets of roles, with different functions, meanings or purposes. (Merton) In Ennis and Jacks society, they both played a role of straight men that work for the American dream. Their secret relationship would not be accepted in society, which is why they decided to say goodbye instead of continuing their love for each other. As time went on, they both settled down and got married. Ennis married a woman named Alma and had two daughters while Jack found a female rodeo rider. Years passed by and everything seemed to be working out until one day Jack visited Ennis after about twenty years from when they were together last. Alma saw Jack and Ennis greet each other with love and kissing. This shocked Alma and put her in a situation not knowing how to handle it. Jack and Ennis continued to visit each other and would take spontaneous trips to Brokeback Mountain to relive the old days. Jack was persistent with the

Some of you may ask, Why is NASA sending robots to Mars? Well, if the robots can dig up the ice, to make methane and oxygen for rockets, then there will be less human trips to Mars. NASAsends mini mining trucks to Mars to dig up ice. NASA has created big mining trucks but they don t have the money to build a big enough rocket to send the mining trucks to Mars.(Metzger and Written) NASA is also making a robot called a Swarmie. • 16. The Importance Of The Centrality And Power Of Love The centrality and power of love as experienced by humans has led them to write songs throughout the ages. It has also resulted in verses and stories about love which they describe as the indescribable and mysterious force that leads them to the peaks of felicity as well as to the depths of despair. Love is the ultimate human concern. It is also the object of all human striving as well as the universal principle engirdling all human activities (Brent Linge 3). The need to examine and explore love to its very depths has been a major human priority from the beginning of time. Platos symposiumis an example of a forum, which focuses on myths, and motifs of love. It is an ancient discourse, which records stories and verses in form of speech by six prominent Athenians. Their stories depict the nature and function of love. Plato s doctrine of Eros, love is egocentric in nature. It is also apathetic towards the others. It is destructive and discouraging for people who crave a comprehensive understanding of authentic love and the love for others God included. Unlike other Platonic dialogues which cover topics such as conceptions of justice, the nature of knowledge and the constitution of reality suggested by Parmenides, the symposium takes a different, rather sentimental approach. Sandberg makes more than the average male her net worth in 2016 was 1.39 billion dollars. It is important that men and women start being treated equally. Sandberg discusses the issue of why there are only a few women leaders and how to keep women in the workforce to create more leaders. She also talks about how women should act and how society should be treating them. It is important that she addresses these issues because the wage gap not just in America but also all over the world is a huge issue. Right now women working full time earn 81 percent of what full time workingmen make. There is a 19 percent wage gap between men and women. It s 2016 we need to live in a society where both men and women have equal chances in the workplace and we should more commonly see women in positions of power in all different sectors of the work field. Women who are just as qualified, and work the same hours, as men shouldn t be paid 4 dollars less than men to do the same job. The wage gap needs to be getting
  • 18. The Technology of Cash Flows Essay In today s economy, cash is often considered to be king. This rings true for consumers and companies alike. The flows of a company s cash are summarized on a company s statement of cash flows (Gibson, 2011). The cash flow statement provides information regarding the effectiveness of company management in operating the business, how the company s money is derived, and the way funds are being spent (Megan, Hategan, Caciuc, Cotlet, 2009). A company s management uses the statement of cash flows to assist with budgeting as it can predict cash flows in the future (Megan et al., 2009). Additionally, investors use it to assess the financial health of a company (Gibson, 2011; Megan et al., 2009). Technology companies have experienced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ultimately, companies are in the business to make money. To do this, they trade goods or services for cash, credit, or other goods and/or services of comparable value (bartering). Although some businesses rely more heavily on cash transactions, businesses would be unable to remain a going concern without long run cash inflows exceeding outflows (Megan et al., 2009). Essentially, the statement of cash flows bridges the gap between accruals and cash flows and allows for the quality of earnings to be evaluated (Ohlson Aier, 2009). It accomplishes this task by making adjustments to the net income figure from the income statement to add back non cash related transactions (Gibson, 2011; Megan et al., 2009). As noted by Ohlson and Aier (2009), cash in a literal sense must have been exchanged for it to have an effect on the statement of cash flows (p. 1093). Therefore, expenses such as depreciation and amortization that do not involve the use of cash are added
  • 19. Why The Rich Should Pay Higher Taxes What do you think would happen if the rich paid more taxes? Would there be a better economy or would it be worst, maybe even stay the same. Increasing the taxes would help out our economy in a few ways. one way that it would help out our economy is that not only would there be less of a concentration of profit at the top of our social ladder there would be more revenue for the funding of civil union jobs. Also not to mention causing the bigger corporations to have to pay more so they would be unable to escape with the majority of the illegal activity they do today. Lastly if the government were to crack down on offshoring it would help with collecting taxes and the money would return to the people and back into circulation for our economy. Here are some reasons why the rich should pay higher taxes. One of the obvious reasons to raise the taxes of the rich would be because they simply earn more. One example is if two people started the year off with fifty thousand but then let us say one had a rich family member that died and they had received millions through a will, then say they received a gift of one billion by the end of the year they pay the same taxes even though one of they are now a billionaire (Cohen). The reason is that the government does not tax on gifts or wills so then they would not have to pay more taxes if they received a gift that had consisted of a large sum of cash (Cohen). Now there is a large chunk of change out of circulation and now the middle/lower

Is it better to nurture a child through their environment or allow their inner clock and biology to take over and take its course? Discussing the Nativist perspective and Cognitive development and their varying theories that are arguably similar and have criticisms of their own and how this plays a key role in this topic. At the age of 3 months we see early signs of phonology; children will turn their heads, and stop crying once hearing parent s voices. They indicate contentment and amusement by smiling, and repeating sounds (e.g. cooing). (Berk, 2003). In addition babies 4 7 months notice new sounds such as the telephone. They also respond to no and changes in tone of voice. Early sound discrimination skills are beginning to emerge. At 6 months of age, long before they are ready to talk, babies start to organise speech into the phonemic categories of their own language. (Berk, 2003). Semantics develops at the age from 8months 1 year old as they respond to sounds such as doorbells and telephones. And begin to babble repeated consonants and vowels. The Nativist theory states that language acquisition is a biological phenomenon such as the child s inner clock theory and any role play between child and carer and by the environment is something less important, which theoretically means that nature will take its course and the child will develop its own

Chico Mendes was the person our group chose to research that did just that. He impacted the world in such a big way, people today are still talking about it. For example, in AP Environmental class, my group just learned about him. For this project, making a canvas was the best choice because A picture is worth more than a million words. This canvas has a painted muca flying over a blurred out background of a rainforest going through deforestation. The meaning behind this canvas is that Chico Mendes was fighting for what he believed was right. Chico Mendes started out wanting just to save the rubber trees and ended up fighting for humanity. This is because Humanity needs trees to filter the air for humans; the trees turn the carbon dioxide that we exhale into oxygen, which we inhale. In conclusion, Chico Mendes impacted me in a way to want to change the everyday decisions i make to help slow down climate change. Beethoven was a widely known German composer and pianist of the classical and Romantic era. Along with a strong family history of relatives involved with the arts and his own personal health issues, he remains the most substantial composers of all time. By Beethoven s late 20s his hearing began to diminish, and by the end of his life, he was nearly entirely deaf. He wrote this famous piece between 1804 1808. This piece is one of the greatest known conglomerations in classical music, and one of the most commonly performed symphonies. INTRODUCTION The purpose of this conservation assessment is to provide land managers and the general public with an overview of the distribution and status of common trout (brook trout Salvelinus fontinalis; brown trout Salmo trutta; and rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss) on the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests (hereafter, GMUG). Common trout species are part of a suite of Management Indicator Species (MIS) ...which are monitored during forest plan implementation in order to assess the effects of management activities on their populations and the populations of other species with similar habitat needs which they may represent (Forest Service Manual 2620.5). MIS assessments are revised every five years and each is a synthesis of the most recent field based observations and peer reviewed science pertaining to the species. Common trout and Colorado River cutthroat trout (O. clarkii stomias) are MIS representing aquatic habitats on the GMUG. A variety of land management activities can affect lake and stream habitats, including traditional forestry practices, road construction and maintenance, fire and fuels management, and water development. The presence of MIS species in a watershed is not an obstacle to active forest management. On the contrary, MIS species are used by Forest personnel to gauge the response of the entire forest ecosystem to land management projects we implement. It will follow by more information about fluorescence microscopy which is used for study fixed and living cells because of its versatility, specificity, and high sensitivity. Introduction: The Confocal Microscope is a type of microscope that is being developed for obtaining high resolution images and 3D reconstruction. The images from the confocal are far better then other microscopes; however, not quite as good as fluorescent microscopes. The confocal shows the most fine details as possible in 3D; the confocal microscopy offers several advantages over conventional wide field optical microscopy, including the ability to control depth of field, elimination or reduction of background information away from the focal plane (that leads to image degradation), and the capacity to collect serial optical sections from thick specimens [1]. The most significant value about the confocal microscope is the spatial filtering techniques that terminate the glare and focus the substance into the view. As it has been stated, there has been a tremendous explosion in the popularity of confocal microscopy in recent years, due in part to the relative the ease with which extremely high quality images can be obtained from specimens prepared for conventional fluorescence microscopy, and the growing number of applications in

Some do it for the power although others do it for protection from rival gangs or people who don t like them. CBC News reported that in the last 5 years the numbers of inmates who are affiliated with gangs has risen by 32%. The insect the team and I chose to work on were the hissing cockroaches, Gromphadorhina portentosa. Hissing cockroaches are small ectothermic animals and are known to have a tracheal system (Burnaford) that allows them to transfer oxygen into their body. Introduction The organism used in the experiment is a hissing cockroach and the main reason was that cockroaches are arthropods that have a trachea in which is almost similar to humans. Although humans have a trachea which is more of a wind pipe structure whereas insects have a tracheae in which is more of a network of air tubes (Bartrim, 2014). The tracheal system has the capacity to transport oxygen and carbon dioxide (Heinrich, 2013) in which the series of branched tubes help deliver oxygen from the environment to the cells (Burnaford, 2016). The respiratory exchange is regulated by the spiracles and this creates three phases of gas exchange (Bartrim, 2014); continuous, cyclic, and discontinuous. The most distinct phase is the discontinuous gas exchange cycle (DGC) because it s the phase that insects must deal with (Heinrich, 2014). The DGC has its own three phases; closed phase, open phase, and the flutter phase (Heinrich, 2014). The hypothesis we had was that the mass of the insect correlates towards respiration. The more mass it has the higher respiration. The dependent variable is the mass of the

While postmodernism seems very much like modernism in many ways, it differs from modernism in its attitude toward a lot of these trends. Modernism, for example, tends to present a fragmented view of human subjectivity and history, but presents that fragmentation as something tragic, something to be lamented and mourned as a loss. Connotative Dreams in Sabato s The Tunnel Essay Connotative Dreams in Sabato s The Tunnel In Ernesto Sabato s The Tunnel, dreams reveal Juan Pablo Castel s obscure and conflicting personality. Castel has lived a life of isolation, despair, and one that has been both solitary and lonesome. His existence becomes meaningful when a young lady named Maria takes notice of an abstract window within one of his paintings. Maria becomes his obsession; he seeks solace and refuge through her. Castel s dreams unveil his true motivations for obsessing over Maria; they help to display his need for meaning, love, affection and attention. His dreams symbolize his ambiguous and construed emotions as well as foreshadow upcoming events in his life. By making the dreams complex and enigmatic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Castel shares the exact same anxieties in his waking life; although he is a highly respected painter, he despises critics because he is paranoid about their opinion of him. He is also recklessly fretful that Maria will leave him or that she doesn t care about him. As he encounters more and more of his surroundings, Castel finds that his first adolescent loves were being reborn in the house, with the same trembling and sensations of sweet madness and fear and joy (88). His adolescent loves are symbolic of the love that he is unearthing through Maria. Since Castel has not experienced a true and substantial relationship, he clings to it as if he were a child holding dearly onto its mother. These adolescent loves also suggest that he cannot develop an adult relationship with Maria and that they he has childish and unrealistic intentions. Castel s sweet madness foreshadows his eventual turn towards insanity after he realizes he cannot have the person who gave his life purpose and gave him a sense of fulfillment. When Castel awakes, he concludes that the house in the dream was Maria. The house denotes obscurity by being dark and by him often being lost within it. Maria is a cryptic woman who sometimes gives Castel definition but often leads him astray. Because of her puzzling

After much investigation on the killing of Laius, Oedipus discovers three truths; two of which he swore would never be true. The least bothersome of the three was the discovery about his biological parents. Oedipus lived his whole life believing that Polybus was his father and Merope was his mother; but in fact Laius was his father an Jocasta was his mother. This lie was nothing compared to his sins. An even worse discovery than that of being adopted was figuring out that he married his mother, Jocasta. This made Oedipus cringe with disgust and be ashamed of himself for his sins against society and the gods. Jocasta and Oedipus had four children together as well as a faithful marriage which added to his overall shock. As if the inscest wasn t enough, he finally realized who the murderer of Laius
  • 40. The Importance Of Mcmahan s Decision To Go To The Military Now it is easy for an individual to tell someone to not do something without knowing the full extent of that person s limitations. For example, I can tell my best friend to purchase a ticket to go to my wedding that is in the Dominican, and if he doesn t come to my wedding, it is an indication that he does not value our friendship. On the surface, it sounds like a fair assessment. Now, what if I tell you now that my friend is living in his car and has about 2 dollars in his bank account. Certainly, you would not expect me to be upset if he doesn t come down to my wedding now, as he is severely limited in his monetary capabilities to physically be at my wedding. That being said, McMahan has no right to essentially scold an individual for not being able to fix a financial situation without knowing the circumstances to which that individual was put in that predicament. Now I acknowledge that McMahan could counter this argument by saying that due to the high rate of mortality, the decision to go to war must not be taken lightly. As such, anyone with financial strains on the verge of entering a war that could be unjust should simply do something else to find money and sustain their survival. This is a fair assessment, as individuals should look to all possible courses of action when deliberating a major decision like entering a war. That being said, I challenge, McMahan to say the same if he is in a position of severe economic duress, to the point of starvation and still want to take the time to find a way past this other than war if the choice was provided to him. There would be no way of this happening because he will physically not be in a position to choose because his body is withering

When Britain oppressed India, they had a divide and conquer policy that exacerbated the religious and cultural rifts that already existed in the society. The Muslim League, which believed in the ideology of Pakistan , actively campaigned to gain more support for the Muslims in India, especially under the guidance of dynamic leaders like Jinnah. Pakistani leader and founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah believed that this partition was inevitable since [a] united India would never have worked (Komireddi 2009). West Pakistan was Punjabi while East Pakistan was Bengali. In 1971, there was a major war between India and Pakistan and the east side of Pakistan split off into what is today called Bangladesh. For the purposes of this essay, we will be focusing on just Pakistan and India. The people in both countries have very common and even interlocked backgrounds, so how is it that these countries have very divergent political atmospheres since partition? India, adapting from the legacy of British rule and the Government of India Act 1935 for its constitution, kept the idea of federalism and was also successful in operating its political system within the formal democracy. Except for 18 months between 1975 and 1977 India maintained its democratic institutions. In the five decades since partition, there have been twelve legislative elections and many more state assembly elections. There have been seven peaceful transfers of power between rival political parties at the central (federal) level (Varshney 1998). In his book, The Return of Depression Economics and The Crisis of 2008, Krugman first educates the reader of historical and foreign financial crises which allows for a deeper understanding of the modern financial system. The context provided from the historical analysis proves to be a crucial prospective in such a way that the rest of Krugman s narrative about modern finance continually relates back to the historical analysis. From there, Krugman analyzes and updates his prior studies done on the Asian financial crisis. He then applies his knowledge from historical events to the modern day financial struggles and argues his opinion about how and why our financial world operates the way it does. Krugman explains his perspective that the world believed that depression economicswas no longer a problem, however the Asian crisis, Japan s liquidity trap and the Latin American crisis having acted as warning signals to modern market struggles. Thus he says that this subject needs further examination and more resources should be poured into it. For Krugman, Depression Economics is still a relevant problem and should be further studied. On top of simply translating past and present financial systems, Krugman dissects the interconnection between economics and politics. Starting with the rise of socialism, many governments took on

The process consisted of three stages: preparation, image transfer, and fabrication. Altogether, there were 15 operations in the overall manufacturing process (exhibit 3).
