To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to recommend Jonathan Marr.
For the past year, I have been Jonathan's store manager at Ross Dress for Less. He has been an
associate since November 2014. During this time, he has progressed from a part-time cashier to a
full-time supervisor with managerial responsibilities. We identified him early-on for future
managerial positions and he has been working through our Manager Assessment Program.
Immediately he demonstrated a commitment to the position by making himself available to work
every day offered, coming in early or staying late. He was also prepared to work in various areas
of the store such as fitting room, sales floor, loss prevention and cashier.
Jonathan is a hard-working and energetic person, and I have no doubt that he will experience
great success in his future career. He is enthusiastic and is always willing to go the extra mile.
Jonathan has developed his business acumen and a good feeling for what is necessary to achieve
the best results under time constraints. Furthermore, he maintains professional behavior even
under high pressure and in the stressful situations.
Jonathan is a quick learner and has not hesitated to expand his knowledge. An example of this
was his Willingness to learn a new position in loss prevention. He studied the expectations of the
position and lead a small team in adopting these high standards. During his time as lead the store
met its goal for shortage and communication by associates improved significantly.
One of his responsibilities as Front End Supervisor was to lead a team of cashiers whilst running
his own register and ensuring customer service remained organized and tidy. Throughout this
time he developed many leadership skills, training many cashiers and other supervisors. He also
dealt with many customers and was able to remain professional and calm at all times.
During the Christmas period he assumed the role of Manager on Duty through the busy
weekends. His responsibilities ranged from dealing with customers at a higher level, cash control
through to associate coaching. These are skills he has learned through observing management
and putting forward constructive questions.
I am without doubt that Jonathan will be a valuable employee in your company. I enthusiastically
recommend him and wish him the very best for the future.
Sincerely,
I~
Kristen Ramsey
