Andby ‘long’Imeanpacked,interestingandfun!Ihave learnta lot
by beingthe marketingassistanthere,andmore thanI’ll probably
everlearndoinga marketingmodule atuniversity.The experience
has givenme the opportunitytoreallydelve myfingersinall aspects
of marketingincludingdatacollectionanddesigningadverts.Itis
because of the abilitytotake control of myprojectas a Homestay
marketerthatI have beenable toreallyexperience atrue office job.I
can’t say sittingata desknine to five wasoverlyexciting,butmaybe
by realisingthatI now knowhowto shape my careerafterthis.
The people atStudyLinkswere amazing.Icouldn’thave feltmore
welcomedorrespected,andtobe treatedastheirpeerand notjusta
studentiswhatmade thisinternshipmore worthwhile andengaging.Fromour weeklybake off to
our tripsto the local pub fora cheekyglassof white, the Studylinksteamare more thanjustsome
office workers,butawonderful groupof friendsthatIfeltveryprivilegedtobe a part of.It was great
to experience workingwiththe teamaswell asmanagingmyworkas an individual.
I wouldadvise anyone whoisstudyingtotake up an internshipinan areayouare interestedin.
Marketingwasan areaI was interestedin,butdidn’treallyhave properexperience inuntil now.Itis
because of thisexperience andwhatI’ve learntthatInow have a directionformycareer,and fora
firstyearstudentat University,Icancount myself verylucky!Iwoulddefinitelyrecommendan
internshipatStudyLinks,foras a companytheyappreciate youasa memberof the team, andyou
are givenactual work(insteadof filingIhada budgettoorganise andspend!).So notonlydo you
gaina lotexperience,butyougive alotto the company makingthe experience veryrewarding.
ThoughI’m gladto go home,Iwill missthisoffice andthe deskI’ve growntolove.StudyLinksare a
remarkable team,andthe internshiphasbeenawonderful experience.HopefullyImayshow my
