Reference In Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Reference In Essay" can be a challenging endeavor that
demands a keen understanding of academic conventions and a meticulous attention to detail.
The complexity lies not only in the content but also in the precision required when incorporating
references seamlessly into the narrative.
Firstly, one must comprehend the various citation styles such as APA, MLA, Chicago, or others,
each with its unique set of rules governing how sources are acknowledged. Managing citations
can be a daunting task, as failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in plagiarism or a loss
of credibility. The writer must navigate through the intricate web of formatting rules, ensuring
that each citation is accurate and consistent throughout the essay.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to the process of finding reliable sources to reference. It
necessitates extensive research to gather information that not only supports the thesis but also
aligns with academic standards. The inclusion of outdated or irrelevant references can undermine
the essay's credibility, making it essential for the writer to critically evaluate and select sources
judiciously.
Another layer of difficulty arises in striking the right balance between original thought and
referenced material. Synthesizing information from diverse sources while maintaining a coherent
and cohesive narrative is an art that demands skillful execution. The essay must not become a
mere compilation of references but should showcase the writer's analytical and critical thinking
abilities.
In addition, managing the citation process while adhering to the essay's overall structure and
word count poses yet another challenge. Striking a harmonious balance between content,
references, and the writer's own voice requires careful planning and meticulous organization.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Reference In Essay" demands a multifaceted
approach that encompasses understanding citation styles, conducting thorough research, selecting
appropriate sources, and seamlessly integrating references into the narrative. Successfully
navigating these challenges ensures the essay is not only academically sound but also a testament
to the writer's scholarly competence.
For those seeking assistance with such essays or any academic writing endeavors, it's worth

Glory Of The Kings Summary
Examine the theme of diplomacy and the building of a state in Kebra Nast
The Kebra Negast was originated in Ethiopia and Eritrea during the early days.
The 14th century version was introduced by an ancient South Semitic language
written in Ge ez. Furthermore, the language of the Kebra Nagast and other sacred
scripture are the same Ge ez language used in the religious services of the Ethiopian
Church. In addition, Wallis Budge created the first English translation and was
called The Glory of the Kings . This glory represents a line of descent traced
continuously from an ancestor. In fact, the reputation of this book through the king
and people of Abyssinia is the only evidence from the Patriarchs to show their
ancestry history. This volume book is held in the highest honor of them all for many

King Arthur, Sir Gawain and Superman Essay
Rick Riordan said A hero can go anywhere, challenge anyone, as long as he has the
nerve. and he is correct because that is exactly what King Arthur, Sir Gawain and
Superman do. They risk their very own lives and put themselves in front of others
with their courageous acts from fighting great green knights to fighting the towns
super villain. They do it all just to protect their city. The culture of the Medieval Ages

embodied in the modern hero Superman.

Comparing it to Superman it shows his love life does not compare to this at all.
Chretien s Lancelot is a classic courtly lover. His total devotion to Arthur s queen
gives expression to the twelfth century s exploration of a new code of elegant
courtship. (Medieval Arthurian Romances) Launcelot, falling in love with King
Arthur s queen, wife, Gwynevere is known as a courtly lover because he risks his
life just to save her even though they are not married showing his true devotion to the
King and Queen.
According to Allen King Arthur s favorite knight, Sir Launcelot, has fallen in love
with the king s wife, Gwynevere. The secret love affair is exposed by Sir Modred,
Arthur s son by another woman, and Gwynevere is sentenced to burn at the stake.
While rescuing the imprisoned Gwynevere, Launcelot slays two knights who,
unknown to him at the time, are the brother of Sir Gawain, a favorite nephew of
Arthur s. After a reconciliation, Launcelot returns Gwynevere to Arthur to be
reinstated as queen. (Allen 248)
By this statement the reader can conclude they are resembling bravery in Sir
Launcelot to risk his life to save a woman that is not his, although Gwynevere is not
his wife, but lover, he risked everything to save her life. Also act resembles courtly
love. This idea is also

My first research experience involved ecological work at the San Miguel
Biological Station in Costa Rica. During the summer of 2013, I did extensive field
research in and near the Cabo Blanco Absolute reserve focusing on forest succession
within the scope of the unique continuous conservation efforts of the national
government. A total of thirty (0.02 hectare) forest inventory plots were laid out.
Species composition and population structure of tree species were characterized
representing 28 year old and 50 year old successional forests, and small areas of
primary forest. The researchshowed that longevity of growth and area use were
determining factors in the species that occurred. When an area had been undisturbed
and allowed to grow for a longer period, there was more speciation resembling
primary forest. Suggesting for the areas studied, that if left undisturbed long enough,
an area s speciation will resemble primary forest. However, secondary growth in
these areas is not expected to immediately resemble the population structure of tree
species as a consequence of time in undisturbed growth. I showcased this project in a
poster presentation at the SDSU Student Research Symposium March 2014.
Currently, I work in Dr. Andrew L. Cooksy s physical chemistry laboratory at SDSU.
I conduct research on organometallic catalysts using computational methods and
physical chemistry theory. I carry out electronic structure calculations in an effort to

policies. The duties of the correctional officer include but are not limited to custody
control, safety, security, and supervision of inmates in a prison or other correctional
facility (Peak, 2016, p. 266). In a roundabout way, correctional officers contributes to
the public safety by ensuring inmates that are imprisoned stay confined until the end
of their sentence. The objectives of correctional officer go beyond those typical roles
found in the normal prisonstaff supervision of inmate workers. For instance in small
and medium prison facilities not all departments are available twenty four hours. In
these cases it is the duty of correctional officers to support the staff. Therefor in

Running From the Sunset; Going East
In 1961, Dad recognized that Betsy s high school graduation presented an
opportunity for the whole family to convene on the East coast for the summer. I was
scheduled to enter a boarding school in Maine in the fall. Spending the summer in
New York meant Dad could drive me to Hebron Academy when the new school year
began in September.
You mean we re actually going to Comfort Island after all these years of talking about
it? I asked Dad.
Yes, Tad, I finally sold your mother on the idea. We will attend Betsy s graduation
from Miss Hall s School in Massachusetts then drive to Alexandria Bay to spend the
summer on Comfort Island.
I thought back to the day in 1956 when my dad and I scanned the 1885 photo of
Comfort Island with the magnifying glass. I wondered then and for the five years
that followed if we would ever make the trip there as he promised. My older sister,
Betsy, had visited Comfort Island briefly with Mom and Dad in 1948 after
completing first grade, but my other sister, Deborah, was only one at the time, and I
was two. We weren t invited to go. Instead, we stayed home in California with a very
sweet nanny named Field.
I have Dad s diaries dating from 1960 1975, which allows me to record these early
years with greater accuracy. Each diary covers a five year span. The leather bound
journals are six inches high and four and one half inches wide. There are four lines
allotted for recording the events for each of the five years. Dad was quite proficient

The Problem Of Teenage Years
Without a doubt, teenage years can be an extremely challenging time in one s life;
however, these years can also be a time when individuals expand their knowledge to

and even start their own business.
Drug Dealer Changes His Life by Trading Potential Prison Term for a Life Filled with

Without a doubt, Julian Young is an inspiration to many. As a teen, Young partied all
the time and worked as a drug dealer. Facing a 15 year prison term, Young realized
that his life was in shambles. He called his father, who encouraged him to come
home. Young made his transformation from a drug dealer to a model citizen with
guidance from a mentor. His mentor made him realize that even though he was a
drug dealer, he was also an entrepreneur. He could use that experience to build his
own business.

Cultural Landscapes Of Montreal
Montreal has various cultural landscapes. Each neighbourhood in the city brings

city of Montreal is renown for its variety. For example, step into China town and

visit Saint Laurent Boulevard between Jean Talon Street and St. Zotique Street. I
was assigned to visit around the sector of Lionel Groulx, which is very diverse and
has numerous cultural landscapes. I often go to Lionel Groulx to play basket ball at

can observe that they are very outgoing and dynamic but have violent tendencies.
The Structure Of A Federal Government
Intro:
With the structure of a Federal government, a ruling Parliament and a written
constitution, the country of Xlandia will now be served at its best, now and over
time. By restricting, both, the government and the citizens from too much power, the
base of this system will be provided by individuals with enough knowledge and
insight for Xlandia to be successful. This will also allow the people speak their own
opinions through free, fair, and relatively frequent elections. With ample
representation for the citizens of Xlandia through popular vote and elections, the
government cannot run against the population.

2nd Body Paragraph: The central civilian government should command the
military. The Military s purpose is to defend the Xlandia s people and government.
It should not be a political entity, which does whatever it wants. This makes sure
that the armed forces do not do anything unseen, as an autonomous uncontrolled
army can cause all manner of issues like refusing to defend certain peoples or
ignoring civilian rights just because it feels like it. Therefore the military must go
for Parliamentary approval for large troop deployments, policy, and budget. The
national armed forces will also send an representative to recommend military options
to the head of state, so that the civilian leaders don t make tactical mistakes. The
police and local militia shall be independant from the military, under county and
district control. This makes sure that one branch of defense does not take all the
funding from the other branches. This separation also makes it harder for any branch
of defense to stage a coup or rebel against the government.

Biomimicry
What is biomimicry?
From bios, meaning life, and mimesis, meaning to imitate Biomimicry is a new
science where entrepreneurs imitate nature s time tested processes, systems and
designs to solve human s sustainability problems.
Sustainability Problem
The sustainability problem referred to in this research project is the high energy
consumption of air conditioners in industrial facilities but also in households and its
global and personal health problems (National Geographic online).
There is too much money and electricity spent on air conditioning all around the
world, and percentages are rising. Air conditioners have a negative impact on the
environment as they can release refrigerants into the atmosphere, which deplete the
ozone layer.
Health hazards can also occur if air conditioners are not maintained properly, as dirty
filters allow allergens and pesticides to enter house and buildings.
Nature s solution
Termites build some of the most impressive structures in the animal world, consisting
of materials such as soil, dung and termite saliva and can be 8m high. The extremely
porous walls allow ventilation and cooling systems, due to outside air being able to
permeate the entire structure.
Hypothesis: Modeling houses, offices, malls and other large buildings according to
the principles of termite mounds would serve as a sustainable solution, as it would
save money and decrease the amount of energy consumption.
How To Create Tension In Back To The Future
One of the most fascinating films of 1985 explored the fantasy of time travel. The
film Back to the Future, directed by Academy Award winning Robert Zemeckis and
Steven Spielberg, was one of the most successful trilogies ever created. The film
follows an average high school student by the name of Marty Mcfly, and Doc Brown,
a crazy but genius scientist. Doc has created a timemachine disguised as Delorian,
that he s spent his entire life savings on. When Marty and Doc first test the time
machine, they are suddenly interrupted by Libyan terrorists, who Doc stole the
Plutonium from. Marty has no choice but to use the Delorean to go back in time.
Back to the Futureused incredible special effects, stunning songs, and an unbelievable

It leaves the audience thinking of different outcomes and consequences of Marty s
decisions. The more and more Marty tries to help his father try to get Loraine, the
more she falls in love with Marty. Tension grows the farther and farther apart his
parents grow apart. Some of the technical elements of suspense also show up. The
different camera angles used create different views from the characters. In the
dining scene where George is going to ask out Loraine, Biff shows up. Marty trips
him, and as Biff stands up, Marty s look of bravery changes to worry. The camera
angle is over Biffs shoulder, and shows only the eyes of Marty as he stands up.
Also, tension grows with Marty and Doc, as Marty knows when Doc dies.
Whenever Marty tries to tell Doc, he s either distracted by something, or Doc tells
him otherwise. At the end, when we are left with the thought of the same outcome,
we see how Doc did look at Marty s note, and then the tension is relieved. This is
also one of the main subplots of the
Gregory
Gregory of Nazianzus sought to establish the doctrine of the Trinity and to model
Christian pedagogy and life of wisdom. Both in his former and later endeavor,
Gregory proved to solidify the doctrine of the Trinity, while expounding on Christian
teaching and its reward. His desire to revive Christian students inspired Gregory s
commitment to confirm an authentic teaching of the Gospel, for if the Trinitydid not
reach worship, its purpose was unfulfilled.

According to Gregory, a philosopher of the Christian faith is one who structurally
gives himself up to the study of Biblical principles with the goal of a life with

his verbal condemnation of his critics intentions, in that his critics writing is

Identity And Duality In Mark Twain s The Prince And The...
Many writers have produced their own opinions about Mark Twain s first attempt at
his historical fiction, The Prince and the Pauper. The novel s many themes make it a
popular object of criticism. Two critics, Catherine Dominic and Laurence W.
Mazzeno, discuss their views regarding identity and plausibility in critical analyses of
The Prince and the Pauper. Catherine Dominic explains the ways in which Twain
presents the concept of identity and duality. This idea of duality is apparent in the
novel, which features two boys from opposite backgrounds who trade places and
essentially trade identities. Dominic believes that Tom does not have a strong or
confident view of himself, which is the reason why he is quick to stop asserting his
true identity once he finds himself being taken for the prince (Dominic). While it is
true that Tom Canty lacks selfworth due to his abusive father and grandmother, I do
not believe this is the reason that he pretends to be the prince. King Henry VIII
declares that whoso speaketh of this his distemper worketh against the peace and
order of these realms, and shall to the gallows! (Twain 34). He is defending his son
s sanity and proclaiming that whoever says the prince is insane will be condemned
to death. I believe this is the true reason Tom continues to act like he is the prince,
because he fears that denying this identity will result in the deaths of many people.
Therefore, he must play along in the prince s role to avoid being deemed

They present information that will make viewers reevaluate what they thought to be

have been gained from television shows. Cedial and Lowel s production is successful
because of the methods they used to create credibility, easy understanding, and

The documentary begins with the audience receiving a summary of what real CSI
entails: evidence, documents ,and processing, all that seamlessly flows to the first
scene. It is in this scene, the viewers learn about an innocent man who was convicted
as a bomber by fingerprint matching. It s here that Judge Shelton, Judge Edwards, and
Detective Grivetti are introduced. Viewers hear from them throughout the
documentary. When it is revealed that the real killer was caught, also due to his
fingerprint matching, the reliability of fingerprint analysis is debated with many
experts and people involved in the case. This easily introduces the second case
containing another type of questionable forensic evidence: bite marks. An innocent
man was convicted of murder because his dental impression matched bite marks on
the body. The inclusion of this case allowed producers to provide viewers with
evidence from more experts and the clear understanding that there is not standardised
forensic testing, including fingerprint and bitemark identification. With this
knowledge, the transition to the third case (that relied on forensic testing for an
acquittal) introduced more questionable forensic science such as an odor expert.
Viewers are given everything needed to tie together the information, evidence, and
people from the three cases. During the conclusion, viewers are reminded of the
people they have heard from; easily recalling everything because of the logical

decision making process which are: 1.Need recognition 2.Information search
3.Evaluation of alternative 4.Purchase decision 5.Post purchase evaluation These
five steps would be applied to describe the interviewee s decision making process:
1.Need recognition The interviewee recognized his need when his old printer
started to malfunction a lot . It is time consuming to constantly fix it and replace
things. He recognized it is time to get something new. He stated the printer mostly
just for printing and scanning but what he wanted is a multi functional printer.
2.Information search The interviewee did not have a specific band choice set
before arriving at the office store. He comes to an office works store to see what
brands they have and saw a huge package of HP printer placed right in the front of
the entrance with a special deal of 30% off the retail price. When he had seen that,
he wanted to have the deal. He then examined the price of the printer from other
stores and do more research on the internet when he got home. The interviewee
prefer searching for the type ( functionality ) of the printer first and then for the
price when he use search engines. His references are consumer reviews on online
blog sites and Amazon site, commercial Web sites as well as printer tests on PC
magazine sites. The interviewee marked the relative

that we need our nation to uphold, and by electing Donald Trump those beliefs

means of threatening her dear brother. At the time, she had no knowledge that her
husband was, in reality, the Scarlet Pimpernel. Therefore, Lady Blakeney unwillingly

The United States Health Care System
Out of the nineteen candidates running for president, Ben Carson, Hillary Clinton,
Bernie Sanders, and Donald Trump were chosen for the analysis of their plans for
the United States health care system. The United States health care system has been
in need of adjustment for years, with prices being paid over double per capita
compared to other countries. While they have some similar views on current issues,
there are drastic differences in the candidates ideas for change.
To begin, Bernie Sanders, a Democratic candidate, believes that health care in the
United States is a human right regardless of a person s income. Universal health care
is a foundation of his goals. For example, he hopes to utilize legislation to remove
fraud in the drug industry while also reducing costs. He plans to expand and
enhance the Medicaid program until universal coverage is achieved. He states that
the U.S. is the only major country that lacks health care coverage for everyone and
considers our current system to be massively dysfunctional . He is looking to move
towards a more cost effective and higher quality system. He hopes to carry this out
by establishing a single payer system like Medicare. He compares the issue of the
poor not receiving quality care to the universal public education that happened 100
years ago. One day he hopes to carry out that extensive and needed change again but
with health care.
The issue of the United States health care system is evident, and his views of

My Dog Is The Best Friend
Golden eyes, brown fur, four legs, and a long tongue, what am I? If you haven t
guessed already, I ll tell you, I am a dog, well, I m not actually a dog, that s just the
answer to the riddle. More specifically, I was describing my dog. He is my living
artifact, I say that because he is old, and because I have on other artifacts (that I
know of) in my family. I guess we just aren t the sentimental type, at least not in a,
this object represents what we are kind of way. However, to me, my dogholds a lot of
sentimentality mostly through our experiences. I ve never had a human best friend,
and that makes Roscoemy one and only best friend, that is why I choose to make him
my artifact. So, he represents to me hard work, responsibility, friendship, and loyalty.
By now you probably want to know my dog s name, right? His name is Roscoe, and
he is a pure breed chocolate Labrador, and he was born on November 2, 2012 in
Spokane, Washington. Compared to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have been raising Roscoe since he was a puppy and I realized that there isn t much
of a difference between the two. They both rely on you to feed them, clean up after
them, and love them, they also whine and have accidents. However, a human child
will grow up, and be able to take care of themselves while a dog will always rely on
you. That is a lot of responsibility that, unfortunately, not a lot of people can handle,
which leads to neglect, however, that is a different essay. I wasn t a very good dog
trainer when I got Roscoe, so I didn t house train him correctly and I barely was
able to teach him to sit. However, I always fed him twice a day, tried to give him
daily walks, and cleaned up the yard after him. Having a dog has taught me to be
responsible which gives Roscoe that much more sentimental value. He is not just
valued by my found sense of responsibility, he Is also my best
Symbolic Interactionism In A Few Good Men
In my analysis of A Few Good Men using the generative method of cluster analysis to
recognize the major dominating and resistant ideologies, I will look at three scenes
that explain the ideologies present in the film. Each of these scenes include an array
of characters and therefore will be useful in understanding how the symbolic
interactionismof the film champions the militarism through the three scenes. Before
going through each scene it is important to know that symbolic interactionism is a
theory that human interaction and communication is enabled by words, gestures, and
other symbols that have developed conventionalized meanings ( Definition of
Symbolic Interactionism ). Also as mentioned previously in the literature review,
militarism is the idea that the country should maintain a strong military capacity and
be able to aggressively defend the country. Working through each scene I will briefly
explain the scene to sort of set the pace, and then I will look at clusters and explain
the dominant and resistant ideologies.

In this scene the chain of command is clearly stated and therefor it is clear that
Jessep is the leader/power of the scene. There are five terms that cluster to help
create a dominant ideology in this scene. The first of these terms/ideas is the great
amount of sarcasm that Col. Jessep provides during the scene. At a point in the
discussion he talks about surrendering the US s position to the Cuban s; at another
point he talks about transferring all the men off the base. This sarcasm represents a
kind of person who feels an immense amount of power and therefore his sarcasm
means more than just an exaggerated comment. Along with the sarcasm were three
terms that are present in the scene, the first being the use of
Usa Today Case Summary
Background
USA Today is a national U.S. daily general interest newspaper, the first of its kind.
Launched in 1982 by Allen Neuharth, head of the Gannett newspaper chain, it
reached a circulation of one million within a year and surpassed two million in the
1990s. Initially considered gimmicky and insubstantial, it gradually developed a
reputation for higher quality while increasing its circulation and advertising revenues
at a time when few papers were experiencing growth. The features that originally set
it apart are abundant colorful graphics, very brief stories, and a concentration on
sports and celebrity, have influenced other newspapers. To date, USA Todayremains
the widest circulated print newspaper in the United States.

Economy woes
The advertising revenue of the company was adversely affected in 2008 because of
the economic recession. The companies faced a lot of losses because of high paper
cost and reduced advertising revenue. This resulted in the shutdown of a number of
newspaper companies.

Content
Right now USA Today s content is geared mostly towards male readers. Female
readers only make up 30% of their customer base. If USA Today were to give their
content a facelift it could generate more readers not necessarily just women though.
In the beginning USA Today prided themselves on being unique and having fun
content in their paper compared to their competitors. But now they re just trying to be
another WSJ with their primary hard news. USA Today needs to remember that their
main demographic is different from WSJ s more affluent and wealthy demographic.
They need to get back to their roots.
Including Fashion and Entertainment sections in their paper could help them achieve
the new image that they need and help them get attention from younger generations
and female readers. Yes their loyal fan base is older but only changing their content a
little will allow them to keep their loyal customers and branch out to new ones with
lighter more fun content.
Our generation today isn t always concerned with hard news, political news

Loggerhead Sea Turtles: Effects of climate change on the population of sea turtles.
Abstract
The effects of climate change and global warming have severe effects on
loggerhead sea turtles and various other marine mammals. The rate of climate
change goes far beyond the abilities of animals to adapt to these drastic changes
taking place around them in their habitats. These changes are predicted to cause an
extinction of many species over the next few decades. (SEE Turtles, 2015) The sea
level rises from melting glaciers, and ice caps are already resulting in the loss of
nesting grounds of these loggerhead turtles. Extreme weather that is also linked to
climate change result in a chance for more severe storms ... Show more content on

(Feldman et al. 2015) This in turn not only affects the temperatures on land, but also
the oceans that are home to many cetaceans (i.e. Dolphins and whales) as well as
other marine life such as seals, and turtles. Climate change is an issue that is linked to
human influences.
The loggerhead sea turtle is an endangered species exposed to many anthropogenic
hazards in the Pacific. It is believed that pelagic longline fisheries pose one of the
major risks for these loggerheads but the effects such as humanВinduced global
climate change have rarely been considered. (Chaloupka, Kamezaki Limpus, 2008)
The effects of climate change have enormous impacts on sea turtles. One of them
being that the rise in sea level will disrupt turtle nesting beaches. Sea turtles usually
return to the same site where they hatch to repeat their ancient nesting ritual. These
direct impacts of polar caps melting, and sea levels rising, these beaches that were
once nesting grounds are starting to disappear completely. (Conserveturtles.org, 2015)

My First Year Of An Infant s Gross Motor Skill
Project Description
The project is a PowerPoint that focuses on 6 different gross motor milestones that
generally occur during the first year of an infant s life. These milestones are head
control, segmental rolling, sitting, crawling, standing and walking. Each milestone is
then broken down into phases to show the progression of the gross motor skill and
when each phase typically occurs. Each milestone is accompanied by a video clip that
demonstrates the progression of the milestone.
Why the topic was chosen
I chose motor development in infants from birth to one year because I have always
been interested infants. I also have two children age 1 and 2 which makes me even
more interested in learning about infants. I want to consider working in a pediatric
physical therapy facility but to do so I must understand how an infant s gross motor
skill develops and doing research on this topic allows me to do just that.
I created a PowerPoint because I like to learn from PowerPoints. To see a slide
dedicated to each gross motor skill helps me learn that topic and then it s
relationship to other information. The PowerPoint is organized so the milestone
that typically occurs first in an infant s life is presented first. Not only am I able to
see the progression for each gross motor skill, I am also able to see how each gross
motor skill can help to develop the next gross motor skill. For instance, head control
is the first slide presented, then comes the other motor skills such as
The Pros And Cons Of Utopian Societies
Have you ever wondered how a utopia works or if it is even possible? Well, a
utopia is a place where everything is perfect and everyone is perfect. There is
peace, everybody is equal, the community provides everything you need, and nobody
gets hurt. In our world, many people have different ideas of utopian societies. Some
people think a utopian community is possible. Others think that it is impossible.
Although mankind thinks a flawless civilization is possible, a utopian society is
unachievable because there is not a perfect setting or person in this world. One
reason a community like a Utopian city is not possible is because many Utopian
communities have been tested but have failed. In one article 4 Utopian Communities

Essay on The American Hero
The American Hero
Every child has fantasy s of being a super hero and leaping tall buildings in a single
bound or staring death in the face everyday and somehow finding a way to escape.
All of these imaginative thoughts have been derived from the past literary works by
the great writers of the early American literary period. These early writers entered
society into a world of action and adventure, where one can see spectacular events
unfolding through the eyes of a notorious man of courage and feel as though they are
defending there country or saving the woman they love. Though the modern heroes
are much more popular than classic American heroes, the modern hero has rooted

In The Deerslayer, Natty is seen as and idealized youth. Natty is later seen
wondering through the forest and lonely waters and is confronted by hunters,
Indians, and the hostile Europeans ; (Groliers NP). This is an example of Natty
encountering physical danger. This wilderness scout is the first of his kind in
American literature and was seen nowhere before by the American readers. This
novel allowed the readers to enter a world where they could relive the Revolutionary
War, Indian wars, and battles on the frontier.
After The Deer Slayer, Natty Bumppo is seen in The Last of the Mohicans. In this

The Soviet Montage Movement
The concept of the soviet montage movement is to show a certain idea to the
audience through the use of film. This movement can show any idea that the director
intends for the film, this can go from harmless ideas to the extreme of propaganda.
The soviet montage movement began in Russia in 1924 until 1930.
Before the movement began in Russia (February 1917), the government with Tsar in
power was overthrown and by October 1917 Bolshevik controlled Russia bringing the
rise of the communist government. This sparked the communist movement, as well
as a civil war with anti communist believers, resulting in the victory of the
communists. As the communist government took power over Russia, they took the

Gunther Von Hagen s Plastinates
Plastination is a process of preserving tissue by embedding tissues with synthetic
materials such as silicone polymers to produce dry, odorless, easy to handle, and
non hazardous specimens ideal for teaching anatomy, pathology, radiology, and
surgery. They are also long lasting so less cadavers are required for learning. It was
invented by Professor Gunther Von Hagens, a German born Physician and
Anatomist. He discovered this process in 1977 experimenting with kidney slices.
The technique replaces blood, fat, water, and other fluids with plastic, enabling
corpse tissue to be preserved for centuries. Von Hagens displays his plastinates in a
manner in which all internal organs, nerves, blood vessels, and bones can be viewed
by the public. There
Old Tyme Bracket And Hanger
There are three jobs at the Old Tyme Bracket and Hanger factory that need to be
redesigned for the company s and employees benefit. These three jobs have been
identified as being the worst jobs in the company due to the routine and
monotonous characteristics of these job tasks. Even though these jobs are quite
simple, there are a high amount of errors being made due to the high levels of
boredom and the lack of responsibility associated with these tasks. According to Old
Tyme the turnover rate for these positions is more than 100% per year. I have
constructed some possible alternatives regarding the design of these jobs that
would be beneficial to productivity and to the employees who currently work in
these positions. The first job task that needs to be assessed is the cutting role.
Currently, Alan is working in this position. Every day, Alan uses a medium sized,
electric drive shear to cut 14 x 16 metal brackets out of large steel sheets. As he
cuts each bracket, he throws it into a large wooden box. Alan performs this
operation approximately twice per minute all day. I personally consider this to be
the most monotonous job out of three we will be discussing. My recommendations
for this job would be to redesign this task through job rotation or job sharing.
According to authors Nelson and Quick in ORGB, job rotation consists of a variation
of job enlargement in which workers are exposed to a variety of specialized jobs
over time. In other words, it would be
How Did George Washington Won The American Revolution
The conclusion is the guide which I will never abandon. George Washington.
This helped the Americans strive to never give even if times were rough. The

Social Darwinism In Mcteague
Social Darwinism is the social concept based on Charles Darwin s theory of natural
selection. It suggests that human social organization is based on the survival of
the fittest and that certain class and races dominate because they are biologically
superior. Frank Norris applies this theory to his novel, McTeague. Creating diverse
characters, he was able to showcase the different aspects of class and race to show
how some are more fit than others. Norris shows how people in certain social classes
either rise or fall based on their actions. Norris showed the two sides of Social
Darwinism when McTeague and Trina tried to change their social classand when Old
Grannis and Miss Baker searched for love instead of money. According to Social
Darwinism,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Old Grannis and Miss Baker spent years living next to each other but not speaking
to one another. They spoke to each only a handful of times, becoming so
embarrassed by their interactions. Everyday, they would enjoy each other s
company through the wall that separated their rooms. When Old Grannis would
bind books, Miss Baker would sit by the wall and drink a cup of tea. They did not
try to force their love or look for money. Even when Old Grannis sold his book
binding machine, he still felt a void in his life. After many years of living next to
each other, they finally tried to fill their emptiness with love. Miss Baker made the
bold move of bringing Old Grannis a cup of tea during the time they would sit by
the wall. From the simple act of offering a cup of tea, they were able to realize that
they truly did love each other. Old Grannis and Miss Baker were able to survive in
society because they did not force their love. Frank Norris showed that Old
Grannis and Miss Baker were biologically superior because they survived, while
everyone else died. Frank Norris showed the varied effects of Social Darwinism in
society when the McTeagues died and when Old Grannis and Miss Baker were able
to prosper. McTeague and Trina changed their class through occupation and wealth.
Their quick change led to their fall in society. Old Grannis
Kidnapped By Robert Louis Stevenson
In 18th century Britain, the kidnapping of an aristocratic boy by the name of James
Annesley thoroughly captivated the public s attention. James was the legitimate heir
to the wealthy house of Annesley, but was only twelve years old when he was
kidnapped by his uncle, shipped to America, and sold into indentured servitude.
James spent twelve years in servitude until he finally escaped and returned to Ireland
to reclaim his birthright. His story, riddled with betrayal and bravery, inspired many
fictional works, including the famous novel, Kidnapped, by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Birthright: The True Story That Inspired Kidnapped, written by A. Roger Ekirch and
published in 2010, is the historical account of that kidnapping. Ekirch wrote... Show

Lord Altham was advised to marry a good woman if he wished to inherit the titles
and entailed estates of his elder cousin, the Earl of Anglesea (Ekirch 50). The
baron did so soon after. He married a woman by the name of Sally Gregory in 1722.
Sally Gregory was cruel to Jemmy and beatings were commonplace. Although Lord
Altham insisted his son would one day succeed him as Earl of Anglesea, there
were rumors that Gregory planned to start a new family with the baron and leave
Jemmy out of his rightful inheritance. Due to the insistence of Gregory, Jemmy
was sent away and forced to live on the streets and perform odd jobs for money. He
was eventually taken in by a good hearted butcher and his family, but it was not
before long that trouble began to stir. While James was away, his father died rather
suddenly and mysteriously. Right before his death, Lord Altham reportedly asked
for God s forgiveness for having wronged his son (Ekirch 60). His guilt towards
James was probably due to the banishment of the boy, as well as bastardizing him
temporarily as part of a financial stunt. Due to the symptoms and spontaneity of the
death, Ekirch suspected possible foul play. The biggest suspect was Richard
Annesley, Lord Altham s little brother. Richard and Altham had a very tumultuous
relationship with a history of discord and numerous quarrels over inheritance. While
there were no suspicions at the time and no proof now,

James Fenimore Cooper s Last of the Mohicans and Washington Irving s Legend of
Sleepy Hollow are valuable examples of literary heavyweights of the Romantic era,
but in addition, can also be used to chart sociological changes within the male gender
during pre Romantic and Romantic years.
But because neither Cooper nor Irving s works should be distanced from their cultural
backdrops when considering the socially reflective nature of their work, exploring
basic historical conditions surrounding the changing concepts of masculinity can
serve as a useful move.

According to Rotundo, the ideal man was one who ruled as head of his household,
believed in the crucial concept of duty, and upheld stern Puritan religious of morality
and social behavior (as the pleasant, mild mannered, devoted man of the community ).
This good man image seems to coincidentally parallel the English patriarchal
gentleman of the seventeenth century.
Social and economic changes around 1820 to 1860 stimulated the Commercial
Period, which produced two distinct spheres of influence: the business world of men
and the private domestic world of women (Grace 10). Instead of the home being a
means of production, industry s influence was being felt for the first time, and with
its arrival, men became connected to the public realm more clearly, and conversely,
women to the private realm (10).
But some of the changes also stemmed from politics of the day. At the time of the
Revolutionary War, political upheaval pitched American sons against American
fathers, and England s social influence over her angered citizens began to wane
(Manhood 18). Michael Kimmel, author of Manhood in America: A Cultural History,

Stereotypes In Million Dollar Baby
The film, Million Dollar Baby, released in 2004, revolves around an obstinate
woman s quest to become a professional boxer. The film digresses from other sports
movies due to the portrayal of female athleticism, supremacy and a certain type of
woman who scarcely exhibits typical feminine attributes and is depicted in a light
that is more relatable to masculine personas. She has been placed into the male
dominated genre of boxing films, a mass media platform that has been largely
resistant towards sports films featuring a femaleprotagonist.
This question permits the investigation of the social group of sports women, in being
portrayed as proficient enough to write their own destiny in a male dominated sport.

Maggie comes from a poor, dysfunctional family without the presence of a father

odds to become a world champion in boxing. Due to all her diligence she manages
to make a career for herself and the first thing she does is put a roof over her
mother s head. This social group is therefore represented as the ones taking care of
the monetary aspects for their family, which is usually a task associated with the
males. When Maggie visits her mother, we see her mother wearing make up and

looks are insignificant in defining a woman. Her femininity isn t displayed through
her appearance, but rather in her strength of character.
In conclusion, the filmmakers of Million Dollar Baby successfully appeal to a wider

One of our target markets is white collar employees with middle or high income.
These people pay more attention on quality of life and have a good consumption
level. Another is business customers, which need flowers to decorate the site of
activities, parties, events or meetings.
Competition
However, there are some strong competitors in this market, especially Starbucks. It is
the world s largest coffee shop chain from America. Starbucks enjoyed a higher
reputation and strong brand effect in China. There are about 31 Starbucks in Suzhou
alone, but some problems are observed in the course of rapid extension. For

high quality service and elegant environment are our powerful points of attraction.
Sales and marketing strategy
To gain more customers, the price of our products is slightly below the Starbucks.

  • 1. Reference In Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of "Reference In Essay" can be a challenging endeavor that demands a keen understanding of academic conventions and a meticulous attention to detail. The complexity lies not only in the content but also in the precision required when incorporating references seamlessly into the narrative. Firstly, one must comprehend the various citation styles such as APA, MLA, Chicago, or others, each with its unique set of rules governing how sources are acknowledged. Managing citations can be a daunting task, as failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in plagiarism or a loss of credibility. The writer must navigate through the intricate web of formatting rules, ensuring that each citation is accurate and consistent throughout the essay. Furthermore, the challenge extends to the process of finding reliable sources to reference. It necessitates extensive research to gather information that not only supports the thesis but also aligns with academic standards. The inclusion of outdated or irrelevant references can undermine the essay's credibility, making it essential for the writer to critically evaluate and select sources judiciously. Another layer of difficulty arises in striking the right balance between original thought and referenced material. Synthesizing information from diverse sources while maintaining a coherent and cohesive narrative is an art that demands skillful execution. The essay must not become a mere compilation of references but should showcase the writer's analytical and critical thinking abilities. In addition, managing the citation process while adhering to the essay's overall structure and word count poses yet another challenge. Striking a harmonious balance between content, references, and the writer's own voice requires careful planning and meticulous organization. The 14th century version was introduced by an ancient South Semitic language written in Ge ez. Furthermore, the language of the Kebra Nagast and other sacred scripture are the same Ge ez language used in the religious services of the Ethiopian Church. In addition, Wallis Budge created the first English translation and was called The Glory of the Kings . This glory represents a line of descent traced continuously from an ancestor. • 6. My First Research Experience Involved Ecological Work At... My first research experience involved ecological work at the San Miguel Biological Station in Costa Rica. During the summer of 2013, I did extensive field research in and near the Cabo Blanco Absolute reserve focusing on forest succession within the scope of the unique continuous conservation efforts of the national government. A total of thirty (0.02 hectare) forest inventory plots were laid out. Species composition and population structure of tree species were characterized representing 28 year old and 50 year old successional forests, and small areas of primary forest. The researchshowed that longevity of growth and area use were determining factors in the species that occurred. When an area had been undisturbed and allowed to grow for a longer period, there was more speciation resembling primary forest. Suggesting for the areas studied, that if left undisturbed long enough, an area s speciation will resemble primary forest. However, secondary growth in these areas is not expected to immediately resemble the population structure of tree species as a consequence of time in undisturbed growth. I showcased this project in a poster presentation at the SDSU Student Research Symposium March 2014. Currently, I work in Dr. Andrew L. Cooksy s physical chemistry laboratory at SDSU. I conduct research on organometallic catalysts using computational methods and physical chemistry theory. I carry out electronic structure calculations in an effort to reproduce the observed effects

The duties of the correctional officer include but are not limited to custody control, safety, security, and supervision of inmates in a prison or other correctional facility (Peak, 2016, p. 266). • 8. Running From the Sunset; Going East In 1961, Dad recognized that Betsy s high school graduation presented an opportunity for the whole family to convene on the East coast for the summer. I was scheduled to enter a boarding school in Maine in the fall. Spending the summer in New York meant Dad could drive me to Hebron Academy when the new school year began in September. You mean we re actually going to Comfort Island after all these years of talking about it? I asked Dad. Yes, Tad, I finally sold your mother on the idea. We will attend Betsy s graduation from Miss Hall s School in Massachusetts then drive to Alexandria Bay to spend the summer on Comfort Island. I thought back to the day in 1956 when my dad and I scanned the 1885 photo of Comfort Island with the magnifying glass. I wondered then and for the five years that followed if we would ever make the trip there as he promised. My older sister, Betsy, had visited Comfort Island briefly with Mom and Dad in 1948 after completing first grade, but my other sister, Deborah, was only one at the time, and I was two. We weren t invited to go. Instead, we stayed home in California with a very sweet nanny named Field. I have Dad s diaries dating from 1960 1975, which allows me to record these early years with greater accuracy. Each diary covers a five year span. The leather bound journals are six inches high and four and one half inches wide. There are four lines allotted for recording the events for each of the five years. Dad was quite proficient at packing

This will also allow the people speak their own opinions through free, fair, and relatively frequent elections. The Military s purpose is to defend the Xlandia s people and government. It should not be a political entity, which does whatever it wants. This makes sure that the armed forces do not do anything unseen, as an autonomous uncontrolled army can cause all manner of issues like refusing to defend certain peoples or ignoring civilian rights just because it feels like it. Therefore the military must go for Parliamentary approval for large troop deployments, policy, and budget. The national armed forces will also send an representative to recommend military options to the head of state, so that the civilian leaders don t make tactical mistakes. The police and local militia shall be independant from the military, under county and district control. This makes sure that one branch of defense does not take all the funding from the other branches. This separation also makes it harder for any branch of defense to stage a coup or rebel against the government. • 12. Biomimicry is a New Science to Solve Human s... Biomimicry What is biomimicry? From bios, meaning life, and mimesis, meaning to imitate Biomimicry is a new science where entrepreneurs imitate nature s time tested processes, systems and designs to solve human s sustainability problems. Sustainability Problem The sustainability problem referred to in this research project is the high energy consumption of air conditioners in industrial facilities but also in households and its global and personal health problems (National Geographic online). There is too much money and electricity spent on air conditioning all around the world, and percentages are rising. Air conditioners have a negative impact on the environment as they can release refrigerants into the atmosphere, which deplete the ozone layer. Health hazards can also occur if air conditioners are not maintained properly, as dirty filters allow allergens and pesticides to enter house and buildings. Nature s solution Termites build some of the most impressive structures in the animal world, consisting of materials such as soil, dung and termite saliva and can be 8m high. The extremely porous walls allow ventilation and cooling systems, due to outside air being able to permeate the entire structure. Hypothesis: Modeling houses, offices, malls and other large buildings according to the principles of termite mounds would serve as a sustainable solution, as it would save money and decrease the amount of energy consumption.

  • 16. Identity And Duality In Mark Twain s The Prince And The... Many writers have produced their own opinions about Mark Twain s first attempt at his historical fiction, The Prince and the Pauper. The novel s many themes make it a popular object of criticism. Two critics, Catherine Dominic and Laurence W. Mazzeno, discuss their views regarding identity and plausibility in critical analyses of The Prince and the Pauper. Catherine Dominic explains the ways in which Twain presents the concept of identity and duality. This idea of duality is apparent in the novel, which features two boys from opposite backgrounds who trade places and essentially trade identities. Dominic believes that Tom does not have a strong or confident view of himself, which is the reason why he is quick to stop asserting his true identity once he finds himself being taken for the prince (Dominic). While it is true that Tom Canty lacks selfworth due to his abusive father and grandmother, I do not believe this is the reason that he pretends to be the prince. King Henry VIII declares that whoso speaketh of this his distemper worketh against the peace and order of these realms, and shall to the gallows! (Twain 34). He is defending his son s sanity and proclaiming that whoever says the prince is insane will be condemned to death. I believe this is the true reason Tom continues to act like he is the prince, because he fears that denying this identity will result in the deaths of many people. Therefore, he must play along in the prince s role to avoid being deemed

Viewers hear from them throughout the documentary. When it is revealed that the real killer was caught, also due to his fingerprint matching, the reliability of fingerprint analysis is debated with many experts and people involved in the case. This easily introduces the second case containing another type of questionable forensic evidence: bite marks. An innocent man was convicted of murder because his dental impression matched bite marks on the body. The inclusion of this case allowed producers to provide viewers with evidence from more experts and the clear understanding that there is not standardised forensic testing, including fingerprint and bitemark identification. With this knowledge, the transition to the third case (that relied on forensic testing for an acquittal) introduced more questionable forensic science such as an odor expert. Viewers are given everything needed to tie together the information, evidence, and people from the three cases. During the conclusion, viewers are reminded of the people they have heard from; easily recalling everything because of the logical structure of the

When Old Grannis would bind books, Miss Baker would sit by the wall and drink a cup of tea. They did not try to force their love or look for money. Even when Old Grannis sold his book binding machine, he still felt a void in his life. After many years of living next to each other, they finally tried to fill their emptiness with love. Miss Baker made the bold move of bringing Old Grannis a cup of tea during the time they would sit by the wall. From the simple act of offering a cup of tea, they were able to realize that they truly did love each other. Old Grannis and Miss Baker were able to survive in society because they did not force their love. Frank Norris showed that Old Grannis and Miss Baker were biologically superior because they survived, while everyone else died. Frank Norris showed the varied effects of Social Darwinism in society when the McTeagues died and when Old Grannis and Miss Baker were able to prosper. • 36. Kidnapped By Robert Louis Stevenson In 18th century Britain, the kidnapping of an aristocratic boy by the name of James Annesley thoroughly captivated the public s attention. James was the legitimate heir to the wealthy house of Annesley, but was only twelve years old when he was kidnapped by his uncle, shipped to America, and sold into indentured servitude. James spent twelve years in servitude until he finally escaped and returned to Ireland to reclaim his birthright. His story, riddled with betrayal and bravery, inspired many fictional works, including the famous novel, Kidnapped, by Robert Louis Stevenson. Birthright: The True Story That Inspired Kidnapped, written by A. Roger Ekirch and published in 2010, is the historical account of that kidnapping. Ekirch wrote... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lord Altham was advised to marry a good woman if he wished to inherit the titles and entailed estates of his elder cousin, the Earl of Anglesea (Ekirch 50). The baron did so soon after. He married a woman by the name of Sally Gregory in 1722. Sally Gregory was cruel to Jemmy and beatings were commonplace. Although Lord Altham insisted his son would one day succeed him as Earl of Anglesea, there were rumors that Gregory planned to start a new family with the baron and leave Jemmy out of his rightful inheritance. Due to the insistence of Gregory, Jemmy was sent away and forced to live on the streets and perform odd jobs for money. He was eventually taken in by a good hearted butcher and his family, but it was not before long that trouble began to stir. While James was away, his father died rather suddenly and mysteriously. Right before his death, Lord Altham reportedly asked for God s forgiveness for having wronged his son (Ekirch 60). His guilt towards James was probably due to the banishment of the boy, as well as bastardizing him temporarily as part of a financial stunt. Due to the symptoms and spontaneity of the death, Ekirch suspected possible foul play. The biggest suspect was Richard Annesley, Lord Altham s little brother. Richard and Altham had a very tumultuous relationship with a history of discord and numerous quarrels over inheritance. While there were no suspicions at the time and no proof now,

Masculinity of the Romantic American Male in Cooper s Last of the Mohicans and Irving s Legend of Sleepy Hollow James Fenimore Cooper s Last of the Mohicans and Washington Irving s Legend of Sleepy Hollow are valuable examples of literary heavyweights of the Romantic era, but in addition, can also be used to chart sociological changes within the male gender during pre Romantic and Romantic years. But because neither Cooper nor Irving s works should be distanced from their cultural backdrops when considering the socially reflective nature of their work, exploring basic historical conditions surrounding the changing concepts of masculinity can serve as a useful move. Masculinity is primarily a social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Rotundo, the ideal man was one who ruled as head of his household, believed in the crucial concept of duty, and upheld stern Puritan religious of morality and social behavior (as the pleasant, mild mannered, devoted man of the community ). This good man image seems to coincidentally parallel the English patriarchal gentleman of the seventeenth century. Social and economic changes around 1820 to 1860 stimulated the Commercial Period, which produced two distinct spheres of influence: the business world of men and the private domestic world of women (Grace 10). Instead of the home being a means of production, industry s influence was being felt for the first time, and with its arrival, men became connected to the public realm more clearly, and conversely, women to the private realm (10). But some of the changes also stemmed from politics of the day. At the time of the Revolutionary War, political upheaval pitched American sons against American fathers, and England s social influence over her angered citizens began to wane (Manhood 18). Michael Kimmel, author of Manhood in America: A Cultural History, comments on fledgling America s disenchantment with British culture: The American colonies had few noblemen, like Sir William Randolph, but they had plenty of substitutes, from upper class political elites to Dutch landed gentry [...]. • 39. Stereotypes In Million Dollar Baby The film, Million Dollar Baby, released in 2004, revolves around an obstinate woman s quest to become a professional boxer. The film digresses from other sports movies due to the portrayal of female athleticism, supremacy and a certain type of woman who scarcely exhibits typical feminine attributes and is depicted in a light that is more relatable to masculine personas. She has been placed into the male dominated genre of boxing films, a mass media platform that has been largely resistant towards sports films featuring a femaleprotagonist. Throughout the movie, we watch her struggle against startling odds to become a world champion in boxing. Due to all her diligence she manages to make a career for herself and the first thing she does is put a roof over her mother s head.
