DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH III
d. Energizer
Now to energize every one of us. Let
us dance to the tune of “Gummy
Bear”
Will you please stand up and move
along with the video I am going to
play.
e. Drill
Okay. Now that all of you have
energized, I have here some adjective
words. Can you please read all of
these?
Okay lets start.
(The teacher will show set of
adjectives)
2. Review
Do you know these adjectives?
Okay. If you know these adjectives,
what is our lesson yesterday?
Very good. Our lesson yesterday is all
about comparison of adjectives. In
comparing adjectives, there are three
degrees. What are those?
Excellent! What is positive degree of
adjectives? Please read?
What about comparative degree?
What do we use if we are using
comparative degree of adjectives?
What is superlative form of
adjectives?
What do we use if we are using
superlative degree of adjectives?
(Every one actively and happy to
participate)
Yes sir.
Beautiful Pretty Lovely Big
Huge Hot Wide Noisy
Small Clean Tiny Cold
Low High Long Hard
Short Thick Soft Thin
Yes sir.
Our lesson yesterday is all about
comparison of adjectives.
Positive, Comparative and Superlative
The positive degree is the basic form of an
adjective.
The comparative degree of adjectives is a
form of an adjective used to compare two
things.
We use -er at the end of adjectives with
one syllable and more at the beginning of
the adjective with two or more syllables.
The superlative degree of adjectives is a
form of an adjective used to compare three
or more things.
We use -est at the end of adjectives with
one syllable and most at the beginning of
the adjective with two or more syllables.
Great! Lets have an activity if you
really understand our lesson
yesterday. All you have to do is to
give the correct adjective to complete
the table. The choices are inside the
heart. Are you ready?
(The teacher will show a table with
missing adjectives)
Very good pupils!
B. Developmental Activities
1. Motivation
Now let us have an activity on giving
synonyms.
Class are you familiar with
synonyms?
Okay Let’s define first what is
synonyms. (call a student to read)
Our activity is called “Park A Car”
Now read the word inside the box.
Very good! So what is the synonyms
for _____ Is it this (choices)
Let’s check the correct answer.
2. Presentation of the Lesson
Again what are synonyms?
Very good!
Again what is the synonym of stop?
Very good! Now let’s use the words
stop and prevent in a sentence.
Kindly read the first sentence?
How about the second sentence. Will
you please read?
Very good! So what are the words
that we use in the sentence? That
synonym to each other.
Yes, Very good! We use stop and
prevent in the same sentence.
(Teacher will present more examples
from the synonym in the activity)
Very good class!
Yes, Sir.
Cuter
Biggest
Beautiful
Most handsome
More colorful
-Yes sir.
Synonyms are words having the same
meaning.
(The students will pick one of the five cars
which has the synonym of the word inside
the box)
(Show your placards)
1.clean-pure
2.stop-prevent
3.pretty - beautiful
4.participate-join
5.help-support
-Synonyms are words having the same
meaning.
-Sir, prevent
-We are working to stop the forest fires.
-We are working to prevent forest fires.
-Sir, stop and prevent
3. Discussion of the Lesson
Class do you think the message of the
sentence has change?
Why do you say so?
Yes, very good! The message of the
sentence has not change even we use
another word. Because the word that
we use is synonym to the word that
we changed.
And using a different word to produce
same idea is called Restate.
Our lesson for today has something
related to change because our lesson
for today is all about Restating Facts
from Informational Texts. But first,
let’s read what Informational Text
means. Kindly read.
Thank you! When we say
informational text, it is a passage
where all the facts pertaining or
focusing to the topic were written or
stated in a form of paragraph or essay.
Kindly read what is fact.
Thank you. When we say fact, it is a
real statement based on what we see
or what we have known to a particular
topic.
Now, please read what restate means.
Okay. Restate means to change it
from. One phase or one word to
another word.
So, when we say Restating facts from
informational text, what does it
means? Kindly read?
When we are restating facts in an
informational text, we are recalling
some facts that are said in the
passage.
In restating facts, we must remember
SUM. S-U-M. SUM
Please read what S means in SUM.
No Sir.
Because we change it in another word?
Sir, because we use words that synonym to
each other.
Informational Text presented facts, details
or information about a particular topic.
Fact is something you can prove to be true
or false.
Restate means using different words to
show the same ideas.
Restating facts from Informational Text is
making a sentence based on what we have
read.
S- Shorten the original information
Very Good. If the passage is too long,
we must shorten it to a more
important fact.
Next, what does U means?
Okay. We must use own words or
change some words that are too hard
to understand into an easier one.
Last, what M means?
Okay. We need to focus only at
important details in the passage. We
will not use any details that are not
pertaining to the topic but the most
important fact in the passage that
focuses on the main topic.
Now lets us have an example.
Observe the short text. Kindly read.
Now, we will make a sentence based
on the facts given in the text.
(The teacher will give an example of
restated fact from the text)
Now make another sentence based on
what you have read.
Very good. Lets have another
example by identifying if the restated
fact is correct or not.
Observe the statement given and
choose the correct restated facts that
describe in the passage.
(Teacher will present a passage)
So now let’s read some sentences that
are restated in the passage and you
will identify if the sentence shows in
the passage. Will you Please read the
sentences?
Let’s see if your answers are correct.
Excellent your answers are correct!
Is there any questions?
Next example for you to really
understand Restated facts from
Informational Text. Kindly read the
passage.
U- Use your own words (restate)
M- Main ideas only
(The pupils will read the text)
(The pupils will make a sentence based on
observation)
(read the paragraph about road safety)
(The pupils will read the sentence)
(The pupils will answer if the statements
are correct or not)
(The teacher will show the correct
answers)
1.Correct
2. Not Correct
3. Correct
4. Correct
5. Not Correct
No sir.
(passage about the origin of traffic lights)
Please choose 1 correct restated
sentence.
Please choose 1 correct restated
sentence.
Please choose 1 correct restated
sentence.
Please choose 1 correct restated
sentence.
Let’s see if your answers are correct.
(The teacher will show the correct
answers)
Very good! All of your answers are
correct. Is there any questions
regarding to this?
4. Generalization
What is Restated Facts from
Informational Text?
Very good!
5. Analysis
When we say fact, what does it
means?
When we say Restate what does this
means?
Yes, Very good!
So, again what is Informational Text?
Yes, Very good!
How can we restate facts from
informational text we read?
What does SUM means?
Very good class!
6. Application
Let us have an activity.
What is the design of the picture?
❤Streets during 1923 were dangerous.
⬜Garrett Morgan invented traffic lights.
🔺The drivers knew now when to stop
and proceed their vehicles
⚪Accidents decreases after traffic lights
invented.
Restating facts from Informational Text is
making a sentence based on what we have
read.
Fact is something you can prove to be true
or false.
Restate means using different words to
show the same ideas.
Informational Text presented facts, details
or information about a particular topic.
Sir, by using SUM method.
S- Shorten the original information
U- Use your own words (restate)
M- Main ideas only
-Sir, road signs
Yes, because this passage is all about
road signs.
You will Read the passage about road
signs and then identify if the
sentences that restate facts on what
was read is correct or not.
Will you please read please the
passage.
Now, here is what we are going to do.
If the sentence you are going to read
is restated from the paragraph, raise
your hand with a thumbs up and if
not, raise your hands thumbs down.
Is that clear?
Now lets start .
1.Road signs are used to give warning
to drivers and pedestrian.
2. Do not enter in “No Entry Signs”
3. You need to drive in the opposite
side if there is “One Way Sign”
4. Driving fast is okay when in school
zone.
5. Ped Xing means pedestrian
crossing.
Excellent. You are all great readers.
