Bacardi has made significant progress towards its sustainability goals by reducing water consumption by over 50% since 2006. The company recycles water used to rinse recycled whiskey barrels during rum distillation in Puerto Rico, saving approximately 15,000 gallons daily. Bacardi has a long history of environmental stewardship dating back to its founding in Cuba, where it was inspired by local ingredients in surplus and has distilled rum in recycled barrels for decades.
