4. Problems Identified
• HR Planning- CITPR ltd was unable to provide
offer letters to selected students from the
recruitment process held at TTC college.
• HR communication- This was a result of lack of
co-ordination and communication between Mr. VN
Swami and Mr. Ravi Sampat at TTC college.
• Lack of formal written communication- Mr.
Sampat shouldn’t have mailed the students a
congratulatory message regarding the selection at
CITPR Ltd.
• Prevention from further placement sittings-
Mr. Sampat didn’t let the selected 25 students to sit
in the placement process of other companies even
after non- reciept of formal letter from CITPR.
5. Possible options to avoid Fiasco by
Mr. Ganesh
• Mr. Ganesh informed Mr. Swami not to go for
recruitment until the information about overseas
client’s project is confirmed.
• Mr. Ganesh could have followed up the latest
developments in the case.
• Post drive, Mr. Ganesh could’ve taken the
initiative of informing the real situation and
uncertainties attached with it, the recruited
students wouldn’t have lost their valuable time
and opportunity to participate in the placement
process of other companies.
6. Serious Omissions by Mr. Swami
• Following the tradition- He prioritized the
tradition of being the first co. in the campus of
TTC instead to first ascertaining their
requirements.
• Information failure- He failed to inform
about the uncertainties to the placement officer.
• Worsened the situation- He did not allow
the placed students to sit for other companies.
• Impatience- Mr. Swami could’ve waited for the
response of Mr. Kapoor as he had the call to
decide the final demand of .NET professionals.
• No clear response- To the placement officer
queries formally or informally.
7. Are actions against Mr.Swami and
Mr. Sampat justified?
• Mr. Swami was fired - After the debacle of
the recruitment and this was justified because
being a professional, he could have foreseen the
risk of predicting the uncertainties and taking
precautions for the same.
• No Increment for 1 year to Mr. Sampat-
This action was justified since he didn’t allow the
students to sit for the remaining interviews until
and unless the students got the confirmation
mail from the recruiters.
