I am delighted to write a letter in strong support of Kari Ayers. As a project scientist at the
University of California, Berkeley, I had the pleasure of working with Kari since 2012, while she was a
Product Support Rep/Customer Relations & Distribution Manager, and Blood Collection Specialist at
Sarstedt, Inc. I was especially impressed with Kari’s phenomenal customer service and technical expertise
on blood collection procedures and supplies. One of the goals of our large water, sanitation, hygiene, and
nutrition project was to collect blood samples from infants in Kenya and Bangladesh, and we relied on
Kari’s vast technical expertise during the set up of our field collection procedures and the training of our
phlebotomists. Kari was always willing to go above and beyond to provide our team with the best support
during the training process. She even recorded a demonstration of the Sarstedt blood collection device
using a doll as an example to explain the step-by-step procedures. We used these helpful videos in
trainings with our phlebotomists.
Over the years, Kari has provided terrific, enthusiastic, invaluable customer service to our
research group at UC Berkeley. She is always prompt with her responses by email and phone, which we
really appreciated; oftentimes, changes in our field situations would arise that would need to be addressed
immediately. Kari helped us overcome challenging international procurement situations by carefully
ensuring that shipments had all the correct documents and approvals needed for timely clearance through
customs in Bangladesh and Kenya – truly exceptional customer service compared to our other suppliers.
Another example of Kari’s terrific support was her ability to work with the Sarstedt management to help
us meet our project goals. We planned to collect samples to test for trace metals in blood samples, but
Sarstedt and other suppliers did not have trace-metal certified butterfly needles as part of their general
inventories. We discussed our specific project needs with Kari, and she worked with her management to
place a custom order for trace-metal certified butterfly needles and meet our project goals.
Kari is a reliable, hard-working, and dedicated product support rep, customer relations and
distribution manager, and blood collection specialist. She has exceptional communication skills,
establishes friendly rapport with her customers, and most importantly makes her customers feel cared for.
During the three years that our group has worked with Kari, she consistently demonstrated all of these
qualities and more, and I highly recommend her for any customer service, management, or technical
