To whom it may concern:
I’m writing to recommend my undergraduate student, Andrew Wagar, to support his application. I had Mr.
Wagar as my student and research assistant at Labovitz School of Business & Economics, University of
Minnesota Duluth since the 2014 academic year. Mr. Wagar is an excellent candidate and I expect him to
be successful in your program for several reasons.
Mr. Wagar has an outstanding academic profile. Mr. Wagar took one of my courses, Production and
Operations Management, for the Fall term of 2014. Since the first day he became one of my students, I’ve
been impressed by his enthusiasm and critical thinking showcased in the class. He worked very hard in
the class and I could tell that he was surely interested in and curious about the subject. He has a profound
understanding of decision-making strategy. Confident as he always was, he took active parts in class
discussions and usually played a leading role in group-works. His excellent performance surprised me,
given that he’s just an undergraduate student.
Mr. Wagar has a great potential in research. Serving as my research assistant, he was able to
successfully complete all research tasks that I assigned to him. The quality of his work is excellent and
absolutely beyond my expectation. He was very creative on many issues that we discussed. His very
interesting ideas always moved me. I’m sure that his thoughtful and insightful points of view enable him to
dig deeper in his pursuit of academic or business career.
Mr. Wagar is smart and also hard working. He continues to impress me with his knowledge, skill and
dedication to his work. I believe if taken on to any business team, you will find him to be an employee
whose talents will only shine further through his business endeavors. I strongly recommend him for the
position he is applying for. Please feel free to contact me if you require further information.
Truly,
