Name of observer: Erin Mason
Name of performer being observed: Rebecca Sellors
Workshop/Rehearsal: Songs with Mrs Guy
The OBSERVER must make comments on each of the following -
1: Professional Attitude
Comments
Punctuality and attendance Rebecca attended this rehearsal on time and
wearing the correct attire.
Readiness to work She was focused and ready to rehearse the songs
with the vocal coach.
Communication with other
company members during the
rehearsal
Rebecca used her positive mind-set and
enthusiasm to accompany other company
members. She helped pick out harmonies.
Focus and attitude during the
rehearsal
Her positive attitude to the rehearsal was
extremely useful. She remained focused and
determined to achieve her goal of projecting her
solo of the Sandra Dee reprise.
Ability to take on board
feedback from other company
members and use it to improve
own work
Rebecca listened carefully when given notes from
Mrs Guy and when the other company members
gave her advice in order to hit her notes.
2: Conduct during rehearsals - Did this person behave in a positive and
focused way during rehearsals? Assess their contribution to the success of
the rehearsal. Please be as specific as possible.
Rebecca was very professional throughout the rehearsal. She was supportive to other
team members, helping me, Betsy and Ellie to pick out harmonies in Summer Nights
and Freddy My Love. However, Rebecca’s main priority during this rehearsal was to
work on her solo section. This is because she was previously given feedback about
needing to project her voice to the audience and be more confident. By the end of this
rehearsal, she managed to reach her targets. She sang her solo, in the theatre, with
the singing tutor sat at the back of the audience and she said that she could hear every
word now because her projection had improved that much. Rebecca sang her section
of the Sanda Dee reprise in time and in tune, hitting all of the notes easily. We all
commented on how much more confident she seemed after this rehearsal and she said
she felt much more comfortable now and that she would continue to work this hard on
her solo and that she felt really good about it now.
