Rae is observed to have a strong professional attitude in rehearsals. She is always punctual, focused, and lifts the moods of others. However, the observer notes that Rae sometimes teaches choreography too quickly without allowing time for others to learn. Additionally, Rae's long hair and jewelry could pose safety risks. In response, Rae agrees to slow down instruction, be more receptive to feedback to improve the group's work, and will tie back her hair and remove jewelry to reduce risks during rehearsals.

1. BTEC PERFORMING ARTS
Musical Theatre Techniques – PEER/TEACHER OBSERVATION
Instructions – Give this sheet to another member of the group/teacher. Ask them to
complete the first two sections and you must complete the response in the third section.
Name of observer: Indie Wells
Name of performer being observed: Rae Laville-Farrant
Workshop/Rehearsal: Hamilton – 18th March 2022
The observer must make comment on each of the following
1. Professional Attitude Comments
Punctuality & Attendance Rae is always on time to rehearsals and
always shows up. She never skips a
rehearsal as she understands the need
for her to be at every rehearsal
otherwise she could miss valuable
content for the showcase, and will let
the rest of the group down if she
doesn’t show up, as I feel like she takes
on a leadership role within our group.
Readiness to Work Rae is always ready to work and is
always in comfortable clothing that she
can move around in easily to make sure
she is always performing full out in
rehearsals. However, she sometimes
has her hair down and does wear
jewellery which could impact the way
she performs as it could get in her way,
or could result in an injury during our
practical rehearsals.
Communication with other company
members during the rehearsal
Rae is quite good at communicating
with other company members, in that
she makes sure to include everyones
ideas into her choreography and helps
to come up with ideas for the
performance, however she can

sometimes teach a little fast and
doesn’t give people time to pick up
choreography as she sometimes just
races ahead.
Focus and attitude during the rehearsal Rae is always very focused during
rehearsals but can sometimes get
locked on to an idea and gets lost in her
own thoughts. Her attitude however is
always very positive and she is always
trying to lift up the moods f other group
members.
Ability to take on board feedback from
other company members and use it to
improve own work
As Rae takes on an almost leadership
role within the group, she is often not
the best at taking feedback at first,
however, she normally comes around
and makes sure to improve her work
and take others feedback into
consideration to make the performance
better.
2. Performer response – will you make any changes to your working practises
following this observation? Be specific
After reading through my feedback from Indie, I will make sure to be more mindful of the
speed I am choreographing, and make sure to talk feedback in a more positive note as my
peers feedback is intended to benefit the group and is not personal to me. I also need to
make sure to tie my hair up and take my jewellery off to lower the risk of injury or it just
getting in my way during rehearsals. I will continue to show dedication towards my group
and keep my attendance high in order to keep up to date with new advancements on our
performance and understand what my role is within the piece.
