NOTE: If HandBrake and VLC media player are already installed on the system please proceed to the section “Extracting a video clip from a DVD”. HandBrake can be downloaded at: http://handbrake.fr/?article=download VLC media player can be downloaded at: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Installation of HandBrake and VLC media player Once both applications have been downloaded, copy each one to the Applications folder. Now you are ready to extract a video clip. Extracting a video clip from a DVD 1. Insert the DVD into the DVD drive. NOTE: The DVD Player application will automatically launch after the DVD is inserted, you will need to quit the application before proceeding to the next step. 2. Go to the Applications folder and launch the HandBrake application. 3. Select the DVD from the list of devices and click the Open button (HandBrake will scan the DVD titles – this may take a few minutes to complete). 4. In the Toggle Presets drawer (this should automatically display when HandBrake is launched) click on the Basic category and select the Normal preset to load the default settings. 5. Under the Source section select the chapter(s) for extraction. 6.
