Narrative presentation - how we construct our meaning and consciousnessMurray Hunter
1. Narratives are fundamental to how humans make sense of their lives and the world. We use stories to understand events, construct identities, and motivate actions.
2. Culture and organizations can also be understood as composed of many interrelated narratives that give coherence and shape norms, values, and change over time.
3. Narrative theory provides a link between the individual narratives that compose our identities, and the larger organizational strategies and cultures that these narratives interact with and help perpetuate. Narratives are key to both the micro and macro levels of human meaning-making.
Through the Magic Door seeks to address low reading rates by growing a reading culture from an early age. It analyzes root causes like poor family communication and low valuation of reading. Its solution assists families through the Grow a Reading Culture methodology, coaching, and resources. It aims to establish clear links between reading and life outcomes to motivate voluntary behavior changes in parents of young families.
Simple Ways To Add Active Learning To Yourannielibrarian
This document provides suggestions for adding active learning techniques to library instruction sessions. It discusses how using worksheets and assessments at the University of North Texas increased student success at performing subject searches from 11% to 38% after instruction. The document advocates designing instruction around experience, practice, and application. It also acknowledges that active learning requires more effort from instructors but can increase student engagement, participation, and meaningful learning through accommodating different learning styles. Specific low-effort strategies suggested include using wait time, rewarding participation, and ending with informal questions. Worksheets, group searches, and Boolean card games are presented as active learning activities.

1. Worry is a feeling of uneasiness, apprehension, or dread about potential negative future events. It distracts the mind and causes people to dwell on "what if" scenarios.

This document discusses Native American myths and their importance in Native American culture. It begins by defining what myths are - traditional stories that involve supernatural elements and attempt to explain natural phenomena or teach moral lessons. It notes that myths were an important part of oral tradition for Native Americans. The document then discusses some common characteristics and purposes of Native American myths, such as explaining origins or cultural values. Students are then assigned to study examples of Native American origin myths in small groups and present their myth to the class. They are also given a writing assignment to either create their own myth or interview an elder about an oral tradition passed down through generations.

It discusses that young people are often financially dependent but may have increasing independence. It emphasizes that giving should not feel like legalism, and young people need ownership over donated money. The overall goal is for young people to experience Christian generosity through community involvement and feedback on how donations are used.
There are several reasons:
1. Population growth. More people means more demand for water.
2. Pollution. Industry and agriculture are polluting water sources with chemicals and waste.
3. Overuse. Groundwater is being pumped out faster than it can be replenished. Rivers are
being drained dry.
4. Climate change. Changing weather patterns mean less rainfall in some places and more
flooding in others.
5. Lack of infrastructure. Many developing countries do not have proper sanitation or
sewage treatment.
6. Mismanagement. Water is wasted and not conserved or recycled as it could be.
So in summary, the main causes are human activities like

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
