S C O P E O F W O R K
The Multi-Role Tanker Transport Project (MRTT) is the largest aviation modification project, for the Royal
Australian Air Force, in Australia’s history (2.3 Billion AUD). I have been a part of this project for over six years,
working in Project Planning (1st
six months), Project Payroll, Logistics and Human Resources roles. This included
modification of the payroll systems and processes to deliver outcomes that were required for the project.
To build the capability required for this project, the labour model was always going to be complex. I have applied
and interpreted the relevant agreements of five Qantas Enterprise Bargaining Agreements for the AMWU, TECH
& Salaried, ASU, CEPU, MWU, plus the QDS EBA and four labour hire companies. The four labour hire
companies were Australian Aviation, Aviation Labour Group, Bermil and Aircraft Structural Contractors, all with
different terms and conditions. Plus common law contracts for executive staff from the Director to International
Conversion Specialists through to scaffolding and TA’s.
My work also included the conduct of investigations, close out procedures for the projects, staff redeployment,
final inspections, and conciliation meetings.
