helps people connect each other and it is a way for people to express themselves through sounds and
the rhythm of the song as well as allowing them to escape reality. There are so many different types
of music such as classical and art music tradition. Opera, country, hip hop, jazz, punk, break beat
and especially electronic dance music (EDM) that is a new youth cultural phenomenon nowadays.
EDM is known as rave subculture that is characterized by wild parties with loud music, neon lights
or laser show, firework show, live DJ, alcohol and drugs. In addition, rave subculture is involved of
youth, mostly from the of fifteen to thirty who enjoy standing all night to listen music and dance
with electronic music. Thus, for many young generation people, rave phenomenon is a norm that is
embedded within the culture of their social life.

Normally at a rave, a DJ "spins" to create the music that the ravers hear. The act of
spinning is the art of mixing songs together using different pitches, different speeds, and an
equalizer to create an ever–flowing, ever–changing wall of sound. In effect, artists record techno

In a music festival, ravers are a major component of a rave culture. Ravers who are about fifteen to
thirty years old are from around the world and all come to EDM to enjoy the music together. I
remember, in March 2017, I went to Ultra Miami music festival. I met many people who were from
Germany, Japan, Italia, Korea, China, and Brazil. All of them flew from their countries to Miami to

Drugs and music have been closely tied together throughout much of history, with each particular
genre typically having a drug closely associated with it. For jazz music, we have musicians such as
Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk of the 1940s who brought upon the glorification of opium with
their music. Fast forward to the 60s when the rise of psychedelic rock bands such as The Grateful
Dead, The Doors, The Beatles and Pink Floyd attempted to replicate the effects of LSD within their

caregivers and parents to identify and design intervention strategies to enhance the child's
development. This is in accordance with the transdisciplinary model of intervention, in which the
primary provider works directly with the family and the child; while other professionals support

Readiness Program (1728). Random kids were put into Head Start programs that had teacher

To go against the "norm" at a rave is to go against the spirit of the music. The music itself inspires
everything that rave culture is. EDM focuses on the use of rhythm, an upbeat sound, and bass to
enable the listener to "feel" the music and have their body move to the beat. Slowly the music builds
up and then it drops, leaving the crowd reacting wildly to the change in beat and pace. Many people
view EDM as just being sound .The "club culture" or "subculture" of rave culture may influence
how people act in society and the values they carry, the people who do attend rave culture share
common traits. Professor Roman Horak from the University of Vienna comments on the similarities
amongst raves. Many of these people dress similarly, listen to the same music, visit similar places

Lack of money, health insurance, and other poverty related issues have also led to lower academic
performance among children in poverty. In David Berliner's Letter to The President, he explains
how "medical problems are harming student learning in our schools" (252). Since poor children may
not have health insurance, or their families may not have the funds to see a doctor, poorer children
miss more school due to illness. Also, more children in poverty come from single parent homes,
which leaves numerous children on their own after school. In fact, "three fourths of all single
mothers are in the labor force" which means there happens to be usually nobody at home to assist
poor children with their homework, or help them study for tests

A seminal study by Hart and Risely (1995) documented a significant relationship between selected
aspects of maternal linguistic input and child linguistic outcomes at 36 months of age. Their study,
which was composed of 42 families, included 17 African American (AFA) families and 25 Euro–
American (EA) families. Socio–economic status (SES) was divided into 3 occupational classes:
professional, working–class, and welfare recipient. There were significant differences noted in each

Throughout the last century there have been many highly influential psychologists across the globe.
Through extensive experimentation and research, these psychologists have revealed many surprising
truths about human nature and the thought process behind our actions. Although these experiments
have given us a great deal of insight into the human mind, many of them have been surrounded by a
lot of controversy. An American man named Stanley Milgram conducted one of such experiments.
Stanley Milgram was born in New York City on August 15th, 1933 to a family of Jewish

Milgram was working as a professor at Yale University, when he began conducting a series of
experiments that focused on the conflict between personal conscience and obeying authority
(Cherry, 2004). At the time, many people were accused of affiliating with Nazis during World War
II. A popular justification given by those on trial was that they were only following orders. The
study began just one year after Adolf Eichmann's trial in Jerusalem. Milgram's experiment was
devised to answer the question, "Could it be that Eichmann and his million accomplices in the
Holocaust were just following orders? Could we call them all accomplices?" (McLeod, 2007). For
the experiment, Milgram required a number of volunteer test subjects and one very good actor. Forty
average male participants, between age 20 and 50, were recruited from the New Haven area. Each
was paid $4.50 for just showing up. At the beginning of the experiment, they were each introduced
to another participant, who was actually an actor hired by Milgram. The volunteers were told that
they were taking part in scientific research to improve memory. They drew straws to determine their
roles – leaner or teacher –however, unbeknown to the volunteers, this was fixed and the actor
