The student placed eggs in vinegar to remove the shells, then measured and weighed two eggs. One egg was placed in water and the other in corn syrup. Afterward, the eggs were remeasured and reweighed. The egg in corn syrup decreased in weight and size as water left the egg into the higher concentrated corn syrup. The egg in water increased in weight and size as water entered the lower concentrated egg. This demonstrated the principle of osmosis.
