 Acceptance Sampling is an important field of statistical quality
control that was popularized by Dodge and Romig and originally
applied bythe U.S. Military to the testing of bullets during World
War II.
 It was pointed out by Harold Dodge in 1969 that Acceptance
Quality Control is not the same as Acceptance Sampling.
 Acceptance Sampling is a technique of inspection in which the
samples considered to represent the whole lots are withdrawn
either before or after a process and carefully analyzed for
defects.
 When the defects found in a particular sample are well below
the desired value, then the lot is passed or accepted, otherwise
it is rejected.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
 It is less time consuming and less expensive.
 More accurate when compared to 100%
inspection.
 The cost of 100% inspection is very high.
 100% inspection takes too long.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
1. Single Sampling Plan
2. Double Sampling Plan
3. Sequential Sampling Plan
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
 If the number of defectives in the sample
exceeds c, then that lot is rejected or
otherwise undergoes 100% inspection.
 If the defectives are below c, then the lot is
accepted.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
 In this style of plan, a second sample can be
drawn from the lot when the analysis of the first
sampling gives inconclusive.
 For instance, a lot would be accepted or rejected
when the number of defectives in the first
sample is lower or higher than c respectively.
 However, if the result is intermediate between
the two, then the second sample is drawn,
analyzed and then accepted or rejected
depending upon the combined results of both
the samples.
 Two acceptance (C1,C2) are selected such that
C2>C1.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
 In this plan, the samples are randomly drawn
from the lot and tested one by one.
 After testing every sample, a decision is
taken whether to accept it or reject it or to
continue the sampling.
 This is done until the lot is either accepted or
rejected.

 Social pharmacy is an interdisciplinary field that deals with the role of medicines in the society.
 The basic pursuit of social pharmacy is to investigate question as well as themes pertaining to pharmacy practice and medicine use.
 It takes inount all social factors that influence medicine use such as medicine and health related cognitions, attitudes, rules, relationships and
processes.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
 It is associated with a broad field known as
health services research and addresses social
aspects of drug research, development,
production, distribution, prescription,
information and control, perceptions of
medicines and use of drugs.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
1. It can be defined as a complex state
associated with habitual use of a drug. The
addicted person gets overwhelmed and feels
the need for a drug even after knowing its
harmful effects.
2. The person aims to consume the drug at any
cost.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
Introduction:
 Prescription drug abuse means taking a
prescription medication that is not prescribed for
you, or taking it for reasons or in dosages other
than as prescribed. Abuse of prescription drugs
can produce serious health effects, including
addiction.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
 Social pharmacy is an interdisciplinary field
that deals with the role of medicines in
society.
 The basic pursuit of social pharmacy is to
investigate question as well as themes
pertaining to pharmacy practice and medicine
use.
 It takes into account all social factors that
influence medicine use such as medicine and
health related cognition, attitudes, rules,
relationships and processes.
 Painkillers are drugs commonly prescribed for
pain and are only legally available by
prescription.
 Painkiller abuse can be dangerous, even
deadly, with too high a dose or when taken
with other drugs, like alcohol.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
 Depressants, or downers, are prescribed to
treat a variety of health conditions including
anxiety and panic attacks, tension, severe
stress reactions, and sleep disorders.
