This document is a graduate project report submitted by Rakesh Kumar Srirangam to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for a Master of Science in Computer Science. The project introduces a novel steganographic tool that uses both steganographic and cryptographic techniques for covert communications. It involves converting a secret image to text, encrypting the text, and embedding the ciphertext into a cover image using threshold-based insertion in selected pixels. This makes it difficult for third parties to detect or retrieve the hidden message. The report describes the implementation details and design of the proposed steganographic system, and evaluates its effectiveness at providing multi-level protection of hidden information.
