The Raicho Comprehensive Village Development Cooperative Society Ltd. (RCVDCS) was established in 1978 in Raicho village, Comilla district, Bangladesh as a development program of BARD. It started with 10 founding members and a capital of 10 Taka. RCVDCS aims to support its members through various organizational, economic, business, educational, social and family planning activities. It has over 600 members and facilitates savings deposits, loans, and income generating activities like rice milling. RCVDCS has been successful due to its cohesive village-based structure, foreign support, reasonable interest rates on loans, and emphasis on regular member meetings and education.

Cooperative Society Ltd. (RCVDCS) is cooperative
society working in the village Raicho of Comilla district
as a development program of BARD. As pioneer
organization it makes new dimension in the history of
Cooperatives in Bangladesh.

3. History of Raicho Comprehensive Village
Development Cooperative Society
• Established on 31st August 1978.
• Started its journey with a capital of 10 Tk. by 10 young people.
• They realized it could not be possible to run with only young people and they took an idea from
BARD’s CVDP.
• In 1991,they went under BARD and CVDP; and named their cooperatives.
• They first registered on 29th October,1979 & re-registered on 5th January,1994.

 Not much helps or subsidies from the government.
 No training facilities from the government.
 Less labour force because of industrialization.
 Rate of education is less.
 Less marketing facilities for agricultural products.
 Less implementation of training provided by the society.
