Copiii învață din povești cât de mult contează bunătatea, empatia și prietenia, dându-le ocazia să facă diferența între comportamentele pozitive și cele negative.
2. Radiația se află peste tot în natură. Ea
poate fi radiație ne-ionizantă(ex. undele
radio, lumina, microundele) sau radiație
ionizantă (ex. razele X folosite în
scopuri de diagnosticare medicală,
razele gamma folosite în scopuri
terapeutice).
3. Radiaţia ionizantă este emisă de atomi
radioactivi. Pentru a putea fi înţeleasă,
este utilă cunoaşterea structurii
atomului. Un atom se compune dintr-un
nucleu (încărcat pozitiv) în jurul căruia
orbitează electroni (încărcaţi negativ).În
mod normal, numărul sarcinilor pozitive
din nucleu (protoni) este egal cu
numărul electronilor din jurul nucleului
și atomul este neutru din punct de
vedere electric. Dacă un electron este
expulzat de pe orbita atomului, rezultă
un electron negativ liber si un ion
încărcat pozitiv.
4. Radiatia Alfa. Particulelealfa (α) se
compun din doi neutroni(fara sarcina
electrica) si doi protoni (incarcati pozitiv).

ingerate sau inhalate.
6. Radiatia gamma (raza gamma) se prezinta sub f
orma de unde electromagnetice sau fotoni emisi
din nucleul unui atom. Ei pot traversa complet
corpul uman, putand fi oprite doar de un perete
de beton sau de o placa de plumb groasa de 15
cm.Radiatia gamma este oprita de: apa, beton si,
in special, de materiale dense, cum ar fi uraniul
si plumbul, care sunt folosite ca protectie
impotriva expunerii la acest tip de radiatie.
7. Un instrument tipic pentru detectarea
radiatiilor este tubul Geiger-Muller. Acesta
este un tub de sticla sau metal care contine un
gaz la presiune joasa si doi electrozi. La
trecerea prin tub a radiatiei ionizante, gazul din
acesta se ionizeaza, provocand o descarcare
intre cei doi electrozi – un puls electric.
8. Expunerea la nivele ridicate de radiatii poate provoca :
Efecte deterministe,care sunt
efecte biologice pe termen scurt
,ce apar de obicei in urma unui incident specific (inrosiri
si/sau arsuriale pielii, boala de iradiere). Aceste efecte
apar doar daca se atinge unnivel de prag al dozei incasate.
Simptomele apar cu atat mai repede sis unt cu atat mai
severe cu cat doza de radiatie a fost mai mare.
Efecte stocastice, care sunt efecte biologice intarziate,a
caror probabilitate de aparitie depinde de doza totala
incasata si de obiceiapar dupa un timp (mai multi ani sau
chiar zeci de ani) dupa un
incident sau o expunere cumulativa. Acestea se manifesta
prin cresterea riscului de cancer si boli ereditare.
9. Principiile evitării dozei de radiaţie sunt: timpul, distanţa şi ecranarea. Prin urmare,
contramăsurile pe care publicul şi lucrătorii trebuie să le ia trebuie proiectate în scopul de:
