• Generation is defined as people born in a certain period of time in history, coming of age together as a group experiencing same historical events during their child hood and teen age, forming a cohort having same set of values & basis that world view
• Generations share an ‘age location’ in the history. They witness key historical events and social trends in the same phase of their life
• Members of a particular generation are shaped in a lasting ways by the eras they witness in childhood and as young adults and basis that they develop and share certain common beliefs and behaviours.
• As aware of the experience and traits they have in common with their peers, they develop a sense of common perceived membership in terms of generation.
• Though the concept of defining & identifying generations have its root in the West, applying the same definitions, 5 existing generations in India can be contextualized and defined as well.
Generational theory helps providing an effective lens for employee segmentation to design more effective employee engagement model. This also makes eminent the reality that there is diversity in our work force and we need to manage this diversity effectively.
In a composite culture like India, each generation cohort has its own separate but overlapping regional, religious & linguistic cultures which are respected by and interact with their shared culture. This also needs to be factored in while designing any employee engagement model.
Millenials and Money: The Good, The Bad and The Opportunity
Millennials, also known as Generation Y, were born between the early 1980s and early 2000s. They are more socially connected through technology than previous generations and rely heavily on social media. Generational theory helps providing an effective lens for employee segmentation to design more effective employee engagement model. This also makes eminent the reality that there is diversity in our work force and we need to manage this diversity effectively.
In a composite culture like India, each generation cohort has its own separate but overlapping regional, religious & linguistic cultures which are respected by and interact with their shared culture. This also needs to be factored in while designing any employee engagement model.

Millennials, also known as Generation Y, were born between the early 1980s and early 2000s. They are more socially connected through technology than previous generations and rely heavily on social media. However, they also face significant financial challenges like high student debt loads and low incomes. The persistence of poverty in America and the dramatic increase of economic inequality in recent decades have garnered growing public awareness. Isn't the United States at least a land of economic opportunity, in which those who start lower on the economic ladder have a reasonable expectation that they, or their children, might advance into the middle class? Or are we at risk of being a caste society, in which multiple generations are trapped in a cycle of relative deprivation, while others inherit the security of a “gilded” lifestyle?
Important recent research by social scientists has shown that intergenerational economic mobility in the United States is low compared with many other wealthy countries, and that opportunity is unevenly distributed across the country. In this presentation, Professor Sundstrom will summarize some of these findings, including what they have to say about opportunity in the Silicon Valley region. He will provide an overview of the potential causes of intergenerational persistence in income status, and the implications for community and policy strategies for increasing opportunity.

The C.A.R.E.S. intervention from Lincoln Child Center aims to comprehensively address racial bias and eliminate suspensions through a 4 phase process including assessment, staff professional development, data analysis, and intensive support over 3 months to a year. The intervention involves interviews and assessments in phase I, staff training in phase II, examining referral and suspension data in phase III, and focused interventions in phase IV to troubleshoot challenges. Progress and outcomes are evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively at each phase.
The three commitments
This dissertation examines disproportionate suspension rates of Black males compared to white males in US schools. The study aims to identify effective classroom practices that reduce disciplinary referrals and suspensions of Black male students by examining teachers with low referral rates. The researcher interviewed two exemplary teachers to understand their approaches. Three common elements emerged, termed the "Three Commitments": a Courageous Commitment to addressing racism, an Emotional Commitment to student well-being, and a Commitment to Social Justice. These commitments may inform practices to eliminate racial inequities in school discipline.

This slide was presented to Oakland principals on October 5, 2012. The slide presents research findings conducted by Macheo Payne. The research sought to identify effective discipline practices that reduce the disproportionality of suspension of black male students in Oakland schools.
The presentation came after the Oakland school board passed a voluntary resolution plan with the office of civil rights, to address the problem.

It is anticipated this will provide insights into eliminating disproportionate suspension by addressing biases at both the classroom and institutional levels. The study aims to address gaps in the literature regarding the application of Critical Race Theory to examine this issue.

Behavior intervention
To be successful with behavior interventions, there are 3 key steps:
1) Spend at least 4 hours per day with clients and complete all documentation within 24 hours.
2) Review notes for quality to ensure excellent writing and use of proper terminology, getting feedback from supervisors.
3) Review client progress by comparing early and recent notes, interventions, and meeting with counselors to highlight improvements and share with the team.
Depression

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
