This document discusses several sociological terms: 1) "Social identity" refers to a person's sense of belonging to important social groups like their citizenship, residence, profession, education, religion, and socio-economic class. 2) "Civil identity" describes collective attributes of an individual including their ethnicity, political views, race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, and marital status. 3) "Family identity" is based on civil identity and includes a shared surname passed down generations as well as first and middle names chosen by parents.
